really great analysis of the grantstones!! I have several pairs myself and haven't picked upon some of the details you mentioned, thanks for bringing my attention to it!!

Adding an afterthought, and commentary between segments let you break it up easier for editing the individual segments for the weekly shorts it also lets you add new information if needed.. First and foremost i started watching Carl's videos to improve my english. But over the time i found out, that his reviews are excellent, precise, nearly scientific. And by the way...very informative.
Carl, the format is amazing. Love the direction that you're taking the channel. The production quality of your content is very evident. Warm, inviting, and highly informative is how I'd describe it. Please share the details of that green buttoned down. You always have these very cool/rugged jackets. I've accepted that they come w/ a premium that would make me dizzy but I do love your reviews ! So yes man, talk about the denim jacket!

I have tried other brands when i was an electrician, however i purchsed a black carhart duck fleece lined irregular jacket in 2012 and i still wear it today. It costs 60$ and its what got me hooked on carhartt.
Welcome back man! Loved the new format, very cinematic and well-done, can’t wait to see more even though this once-a-month format is gonna keep me on the edge of my seat
Great videos Carl...I like the new format. All of the topics were interesting. You make a very compelling argument for the Carhart jacket versus the Dickie jacket. Certainly many more nice features and quality construction. Another great job!. Thanks for sharing...Ed
Dude you have a lot of Taylor Stitch shirts! Love it! Ever since I saw you wearing the Explorer shirt, I’ve been obsessed and buying shirts from them left and right. Love my Grant Stone Ottawa’s in Dune. Good to see you affirm my feelings about them! Unfortunately, I got mine a little too big. They seem to run quite a bit larger than Allen Edmonds for me. Still, I wear them quite often and appreciate their fantastic quality. Also note, mine did have some funky grain and color on the side panels. I’ve seen that on Aldens and Allen Edmonds though, so not a huge detractor. Yours definitely look better than mine.
I know you said that you don't like using comfort as a metric, but I do think it would be helpful to describe the type of fit these boots have. Descriptions like the height of the arch, room in the toe box, how much the waist slims, etc.
Owning multiple pairs of Grant Stone boots and shoes, they are on par with and best Alden in some categories in shoes, specifically loafers. And considering their B grade and Sample sales prices are under $200, the value of GS beats everything in my opinion.
@@CarlMurawski How about a series on American made clothing? I have been looking for American made clothing for hunting and outdoors use maybe you can make a good series on that?
my guy, you should post that first 2 minutes as just an announcement video, lots of people wont even click on a 1 hour vid, not everyone is a savage like the rest of us, love ya
Just wanted to shot out to @Carl Murawski for continuing to make insanely quality content. Especially with the amount of views that you get and for how awesome your reviews/ videos are. We appreciate to you man and hope you can keep on making your content. I only wish you had way more views than you do. Rock on man!!!!!
Really glad you have done a review on the New carhartt active jacket. I own the J130 old version and just the new version. The new version wich i dont if anyone knows about they still advertise it as the J130 but it is not all the new touches are great and it almost feels like the full swing in the elbows with room to move. Love both old and new but you really the on and off feeling is alot better on the new with the new touches they added. With that never tried a dickies coat i think i will stick with my brand of carhartt they go a long way for me i have couts that have lasted 10 years and more and that truly says something in my line of work. Great video thanks.
I love quality gear and wouldn't mind paying little extra to get it, however, living in New York, items sometimes walk away and disappear so it's better to buy something more disposable but still good.
Not a bad format. Good video while I shine my dress shoes. Love the jacket by the way. Thank you for your hard work sir. I’ll patiently wait for your next video.
😂 watching this in 2021 realizing you jinked yourself about having guests on with the covid madness getting out of control a month after you posted this. Glad I found your videos though love the content.
Levi 501's are the best jean. All the work gloves are dope. I have a deer skin pair of roper gloves! Awesome! Your boot game is Sick! Those boots were really nice. But I will stick with my 1000 Mile boot. Carhart destroys Dickies! No comparison Son! The first thing we noticed was your cool jacket and the cool wall behind you. The jacket definitely is the business Bro! Your the best on YT. Great vid.
The new format is great, it's like a bunch of issues. Especially the comparison of the jackets gave me some benefit. The hints of the details really opened my eyes. Great! Next to-do for me: Take a deeper look at Grant Stone! :-D
I like the new format and it's nice to have a longer video that you can sit and dive into. I would have one minor bit of feedback though, the transition between some of the segments is abit blunt, and you can see where the segments have been stitched together. Maybe in the longer edition the outro count be removed or trimmed down, so there is no "thanks for watching the video" and then a new segment starts.
Loving the format, man. Quick Q. If i ever need to 'clean' wool, is it worth dry cleaning. Don't wanna lose the lanoline. Much love from the uk. Got woolrich on your recommendation, loving it. Just in future, should i handwash? And if so, when?
Thanks for putting me on to Grant Stone Diesel Veg Tans. I'm a huge fan of sneakers and Hender Scheme so to find a veg tan boot at this price is honestly kind of a bargain. Thanks again.
Great review on Grant Stone Diesel! Have been thinking of those boots for quite a while, but like yourself, kept deferring getting them...probably because of the made-in-china stigma. Your observations confirm what other boot enthusiasts have been saying..and that is Grant Stones are outstanding value for the money.....final comment...love that boot leaderboard!
I've been wearng Carhartt and Levis for 25 years landscaping and trucking. If I was as good as Carl, I'd like to do reviews on the old worn out gear I can't bear to throw away. Maybe Carl's northern hillbilly cousin.Lol. Keep up the good work Carl!
I don't have time to watch the full video so forgive me if you say it in the video, what denim jacket are you wearing in the intro? I love the look of it and my birthday is in april and would love to treat myself with a nice jacket.
No worries, the video will always be here for you to watch! That jacket is the Freenote Cloth RJ2 in the medium color (there is a darker and lighter version)
Great video Carl! I especially like the jeans review. Does anyone know if there is something similar with a bit of a higher rise? That would be perfect, for me. Keep up the great content and honest approach!
Hi I just wanted to say thank you and new subscriber. By the way you could have just done a video on the Carhartt vs Dickie’s jackets alone and you would have a great video. Keep doing these comparisons. 👍
That's from a company called Freenote Cloth out of CA. It's their RJ2 jacket in whatever the medium color is- there's a darker and lighter shearling version.
All of the jeans that I own are either Naked and Famous or Levi's. I'm lucky enough to be tall enough to order Naked and Famous without having to have them hemmed or having Naked and Famous hem them themselves, which they do offer; their stock size fits my inseam length perfectly. I wear Naked and Famous casually, for when I am out in public. And I wear Levi's when I am at work because they are cheap enough and high enough quality to be fine for that purpose, and I do not care if I spill chemicals on them (I am in charge of handling and disposing of hazardous materials at my work) and if they get them really dirty, it isn't a big deal either. I've been wearing the cheap Wells Lamont three pack cowhide leather gloves from Costco, and they have done me pretty well, but I will admit that they do not last all that long, but for the price they are definitely decent. I might have to try that Buffalo one. I live in California, so I really do not need gloves for warmth, they are just for not injuring my hands when I am using saws, axes, and knives. I don't care about the quality of the materials they use or their QA testing, I will do everything I can to not support the People's Republic of China. I understand that I cannot avoid buying some things that were made in China, but I will try to avoid anything that was made in China that I can, which definitely includes leather boots. I will not willfully support that government, as long as they are locking up ethnic minorities in concentration camps, oppressing their own people, harvesting organs, executing people on mass, etc. The list of terrible things that they do is miles long and it is longer than any other country. Therefore I will not even consider these Grant Stone boots. If they want my money, they will make their boots in America, and if they must outsource, at least outsource to a place like Mexico. If I had been alive in the 1930's and 1940's, I would not actively support the government of Nazi Germany either, despite how high quality their manufactured goods might have been. Carhartt > Dickies. The only downside to Carhartt is that they do not make that many of their products in America. I have said it before and I will say it again, this channel is criminally underrated and under subscribed.
This is okay, but I think it would be worthwhile to clip some of these reviews and upload them again as their open videos as well. Maybe in between the monthly episodes? It would just make it easier to find specific reviews on your channel.
