James you are a workaholic but you need to be kind to yourself as well mate, I think that's what your back is telling you as well. Awesome to hear your taking part in the challenge #KPWBCC2020. Im looking forward to seeing what you come up build with all that lovely hardwood 😊
Cheers Karl, my back is made of glass at times, sometimes it's super strong, sometimes I can't even tie my laces. 🙃 I'll be cracking on with the chair build soon, once I've settled on a plan 😜
Glad to see your back James just a reminder from an old man (67) burning candle at both ends don’t work I did it for years now I’m paying for it so take care my friend and see you in the future
Great to see one of the true gentlemen of RUclips back, you’ve been working awfully hard James nut I’m looking forward to seeing you in Shop action soon mate 🍻🍻👍👍👍👍
Thanks Dirk, not sure I've been called a gentleman before, but I'll take that! 😁 Always been a worker me, can't afford new toys without putting the O/T. 👍🍻🍻🍻🍻
Lol look at you posh boy with the chapters...... works really well been messing about up and down the chapters . Congrats too chris I was only a quarter of the wheel away lol nice video mate happy birthday for when it was
Haha yep, I'm starting to get technical now. Took me a while to work out how to do them mind. The next give away I do, perhaps I can come up with a different random picking way. And thanks for the birthday wishes, card in the post I take it? 😁😜
Your loyal subs understand life can get in the way of making videos. Your health comes first. I feel your pain regarding the weather? Been driving me insane. Trying to build the lean to but everytime i get going it rains. As for the new bandsaw im still happy with mine. Yes its cheap but for the money you cant complain. Anyway stay safe & keep making
Yes that sounds great, well please lead the way and I will try to copy it as my Carpentry skills are quite basic at the moment.. Thanks James for replying.
hi i mate got the ferex bandsaw last xmas as a present and i think its fantastic ,best blade i use for cuttnng wide timber is half inch bandsaw blade from axminster .or amazon 179 mm hope this helps
Hi Jim, to be honest, I've used it only once very quickly to see how it worked. I've not used it really yet. It is a well made tool, and I like the fact it has 4 different sharpening angles. There are also many different grit stones you can buy to sharpen with, so it also has a lot of flexibility. So I unfortunately, I can't really give you an answer sorry
@@JamesManCave Thanks James, glad to see your site is taking off, I remember watching some of your previous video's and your subs were in the hundreds. Well done.
Thanks Jim! Yep, subs are slowly going up. I never intended this channel to be a job, or a change or career like many others seem to pursue with their channels, this was always a bit of fun for me. So i try and do what I can when I can on here 👍
Yeah, I didn't think of the size of cut when getting my Titan bandsaw and it's just smaller than I wanted for the fancy coasters I'd planned to make...d'oh. I just need a new plan. Anyway, you did the right thing of looking after yourself before looking after your youtube account :)
Thanks Chris, didn't have much choice, couldn't really move lol. I had to upgrade the bandsaw as like you I didn't think about the depth of cut before I bought the parkside one, so much I want to make but not able to do it on that badsaw
Nice catchup James 😁. I'm sure we would all prefer you looked after your back as a priority mate. Mine is as weak as water after years of bending over under car bonnets, and even now... it just gives up and catches me by surprise 😖. Looking forward to Karl's challenge... but haven't even thought of a design yet 🤔. Take care mate 😁👍
Backs are funny old things, I got rear ended in a car accident, after I had my op most of the time my backs great, then it just goes 🤷🏻♂️. I was a mechanic for just over 3 years, would be able to do that now. And lol like yourself, my design for Karl's challenge is still a blank piece of paper 🤔
@@JamesManCave 😁 three years.. you must have still been the new lad 😂🤣😂. I literally just finished my time, and then jumped ship to the print industry. Fair play for retraining in that, not an easy subject to learn. And you mate 👍💪
Hi mate keep going , am 30 years nightshirt in lol its not easy😴😴 I love ur review on the rage 5 and am getting one, do you think you can make a router table that could fit between the slide extension table? Take care and stay safe scary times mate
Hi Derek, thanks for the the comment. I actually like night shift, it's just when you keep swapping between day and night shift it soon catches up with you lol. As regards the rage 5, now I did give this some consideration, and basically the extension winds that attach to the main table probably wouldn't be strong enough to support a router, you could of course beef it up with supports, but I'd rather build a bench top router table then drill lots of holes in the table saw
The absolute tease of that wheel! Congrats to Chris!
Ha, a tease is certainly is 👍

Thanks Phil, as my dad would say, '67 isn't old, that's not even middle age yet!'. But yea, think I need to take a break from work for a while 👍
Congratulations to Chris 😊👍
Thanks for entering
Yay!! Thank you!! 👍🏼👍🏼
No worries, it's nice to be able to give something back

Cheers for plugging ROI mate! :D I feel ya with the busy... I've been the same, shop time has suffered lately.

Hello my friend.
nice vlog. Thank you for sharing. I'm not sleepy :-) Chris Oldman is always lucky.
Haha, some one does read the video description! 😜 Thanks for commenting 👍
@@JamesManCave it certainly is. :-) I am looking forward to your woodwork.
Look forward to your box making videos. A mate in work wants me to make him a box to hold silver coins so need some inspiration.
Now that would be a lovely project to make. Think I'd make a box with some small drawers for the coins

Never seen the plane sharpener before, looks like a really useful piece of kit. 👍
It's a really nice bit of kit, the top slides off, and can be turned around to sharpen at different angles.
