    I could not agree more. I hate them for the most part but I have one and it is fine. THe key is having the extension pole so you can see the entire coin at one time. This particular one looks very nice and it has a $50 coupon? Wow.. nice. Thanks Daniel.

    I got a Hayve 4K 48MP Digital Microscope $169.99 it also connects to my 4K smart TV, and it looks almost exactly the same as the one you have from Amazon.

      Upon closer examination I've noticed that the Hayve 4K microscope despite being labeled as such appears to deliver a 2K video quality. In comparison, the EM4K genuinely provides a 4K video experience, this variance is quite significant

    I have one of these, and I definitely use it because of my eyesight. Plus it's steady...I hate it when my hands shake at times and have difficulty seeing any potential errors and such...its a very nice scope, but I recommend placing the coin on something soft as to not cause it to get scratches...
    It has 2 different areas for the plug. One is for the lights and the other is to charge the scope...

    Good video, Daniel, I have a microscope like you. I also set up before I read the manual. After a few tryouts and not getting the results that I thought should have been happening, I shut it off and read the manual. After reading the manual a few times, l relaxed and turned in back on and started to go through step by step and familiar myself with each feature of the machine, and it was worth the time and effort. It probably saved me so much time and effort. Now, it feels like I have all the time to check out all of my coins. Thanks again, Daniel, for all you do. Have a good day.

    I think a big problem with people "seeing things that aren't there" with scopes is that they're using the wrong kind. Scopes like this offer a pretty two dimensional look (besides the fact that it's digital display). I'm not trying to ding this product, it looks fantastic for 250 bucks. However when viewing coins under a scope you really want a stereo microscope for both eyes. Unlike a normal microscope the range from the lense is much greater so you can hold and manipulate the coin while you look. Also unlike a normal scope it will provide a more three dimensional look to the object. Makes it a lot easier to understand what you're seeing. Whats raised, whats incuse... whatnot. Also nothing beats actually looking at the coin through quality glass. A huge reason for a good scope is grading heavily toned coins. My Jumbo Doublet 10x and a 100w bulb is the go-to almost every time, but once in a while it's just not enough. If you NEED a scope, don't use a digital display, look through glass. If you WANT a scope for fun and to just appreciate your coins, I can see this being an excellent choice. Remarkable looking quality for the price!

    I don't know why so many coin searchers waste their time to look for errors or new die varieties. The chances of finding it is miniscule. The chances of finding anything of value in pocket change is close to zero.
    Thanks for the heads up on this microscope. It seems to a new model. I might order it because my eyes aren't as good as when I was a kid. It's hard for me to look through a magnifier. Plus you are right that the scope like a macro lens will pick up the minor defects on the surface of a coin.

  • @deniswauchope3788
    @deniswauchope3788 Год назад +1

    Thanks for the video. I've got a similar (but much cheaper) microscope, I use it to take photos of my coins. I wish more coin sellers would use them too, a blurry far-away tiny picture of a coin from someone's cell phone camera is all too common. I don't buy coins from vendors that post crappy photos, I've found that sometimes the photo is blurry to hide defects in the coin; I hope that's accidental, but I wonder. As far as finding pie-in-the-sky riches, I'm amused by looking at many eBay coins for sale, and finding huge differences in the prices of very similar coins; some of those sellers are sure hoping a sucker comes along!

      If you are super into looking at coins close up, look into getting a stereo microscope, the kind with dual eyepieces, no digital display. You get a much more 3D image. Million times better for coins. The ones with one eyepiece or digital display cause more confusion than they solve.

    Hey 4k guy. lol Had to say it... Thanks Daniel ! I've been thinking about a better scope..Mine wont pull back far enough for a full coin image and the resolution isnt a nice high res. Yea, i've done all the usual stuff but the current scope is kind of a pain. Its done well for me over all though. When I search fast through rolls or something, I flash through them, look n flip, look n flip..speed is key. A full coin picture would make it easier. Not to get anyone aghast but I really don't like loops. I do have a lighted loop and it does well on the run but for a normal loop, just not my style. Kind of like Greysheet, I like thew web site or phone app but for the book, I never use it. I could have used a better cam though the other day...even the lighted loop wasn't helpful..I was looking for the doubled ear on a Morgan. This cam would make those kinds of things easier. Hey, it might have been the coin was too worn too...lol Thanks again !!

    I’m currently very new to coin hunting and was planning on purchasing the $90 1000x microscope from the same company.
    My main goal is just variety hunting Pennies for my collection as that’s what intrigues me currently.
    I currently only have variety vista as a view point but some of the things on there seem so small or minuscule that I was concerned a loupe might not cut it.
    Is there a specific loupe you would recommend? Or just aim for a 10x like you mentioned?
    Either way, thanks! Probably just saved me about 2 boxes of pennies.
