Man, I am so fucking sold on your courses. I don't even know what to enroll in first; the HardOps Masterclass or the Hard Surface Accelerator! Your content is the best!
Cheers, mate. Well, that would depend on what's your level and what is the goal of your studies. If you haven't touched the addons yet and are fairly new to hard surface in Blender then I would recommend starting with the accelerator. It will give you superb foundation for anything Blender related, but especially hard surface modeling workflow. We also have Academy 2.0 offer which is not on the store. been using hardops & boxcutter for 2 years and made my workflow way better. and when i first bought it, i straight up went to your gun and satellite tuts and learned it all in a few days!
@@SkrapProduction i am not sure which ones you mean, but if you wanna master hopscutter asap then i'd say get this www.blenderbros.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-hard-ops-and-boxcutter
@PonteRyuurui Is the Boxcutter/Hardops course updated for Blender 4.2? Definitely thinking of getting it, but lots of issues with some of the older tutorials.
what would you want updated? the only thing that has changed is autosmooth, modifier menu and addon installation menu, and all those changes are on the blender side. Hops simply added an AS modifier, thats all. We added a video that explains the changes. The rest is the same.
Hi Ponte Ryuurui, I love your videos. They are informative, straight to the point and amazing. I have a question though, I make airsoft guns and other toy weapons, however I use a CAD Software to get the right tolerances and design all the mechanical parts, but they lack the creativity of what blender has to offer, I can't make the designs look as cool as in my channel banner so I was wondering if you could tell me if it is worth learning blender for this purpose and is it possible to make functioning assemblies using blender. Thank you in advance.
Great video, I have another question. If I create an stl or obj file in another software, and import it into blender, will hardops and box cutter work on those files? I want to buy the software but i need to know it if will work for my intended use.
@@user_xyz948 Thanks, I'm only asking because I am currently struggling with importing my stl files and remeshing them, either they turn out super low quality, so my flat edges are not flat anymore, or when i remesh, they have so many quads, my pc crash so im wondering if i should rather create everything in blender and not work between different software
@@DIYGUNBUSTERS I see the issue now. Blenders native remeshing tools are utter garbage. If you want a clean result you will need a ridiculously small voxel size + corrective smooth, which will result in meshes with a huge polycount (which can still be used in some cases but they still slow down your PC by a lot). If you want a proper remesher then you will have to buy the quad-remesher add-on for Blender, or do manual retopology. Cheers. Edit: Also, export settings matter a lot. Check which settings are most optimal for your situation.
@@user_xyz948 I've tried High, Low, Brep, everything my software can export is too much for Blender. I model Airsoft Guns and would have liked to sculpt on it, without losing the tolerances or functionality, but sculpting again moves the meshes instead of just adding it like hard surface modeling so I'm in a jam here. I want to add like dragon scales to the frame but doing it in a CAD software is near impossible and takes ages, where if i look at a blender tutorial, i could do in 20 min
@@DIYGUNBUSTERS Like I said, blender is lacking proper remeshing tools. I'm not too educated on how to properly export from cad cad to blender for sculpting purposes. You may find some resources regarding that online. Or you save yourself the hassle and pay for proper remeshing tools, but it's fair if you don't want that. Either way I hope you find a way that will work for you. Good luck.
Thanks Bro, But I have a question, my decalmachine doesn't work with materialworks, the decals are white, could you make a video on how to fix these material errors? Pls Bro, I appreciate it. ❤
Guys, I got a super basic problem but I searched through all the Internet and couldn't find the answer. :((( I came back to Blender and hard surface modeling after a couple of months and my Boxcutter doesn't work as it used to, I guess. BC is active. When I select an object and try to drag across and create a cutter, the object deselects suddenly with my click and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? D: Could you help me?
@@PonteRyuurui thank you, I did so, reinstalling Blender and addons didn't help but updating Windows did. I thought someting's changed with Blender shortcuts or so but it was just a bug. Solved.

Best add-ons. Thanks much Mr.Ponte
This might not mean much but thank you, I got your course for free and I’ve learned a lot
glad it helped mate!
thank for this video ponte
Awesome - thank you!
Thank you.
Can I take your courses without buying this addon? is there any alternative?
thank you.
Loop tools so soooo much better for cutting holes and squares rather than using Boolean. Box cutter is great for literally any other shape though.
Is that auto smooth neccesary? I use my models for 3d Printing and Autosmooth is artificial (right click and flat is what it prints as).
In the past I thought these plugins were unnecessary. Now I've been using them for 4 years.

Could be many things. Update the addon. Try nuking config files. Can ask here under help discord.gg/cBMF9X5

Of course you will be able to edit imported stl/obj files with HopsCutter as long as they are a mesh.

Are you going to do any videos on nsolve?
no plans
I think I have to redownload them because they stopped working after a few blender updates
Is it normal that when i do a cut, the boolean modifier gets applied automatically ?
If you set boxcutter to destructive then yes.

DM does not with non bsdf mats. However, our next MW update, which is nearly ready, will change that.
My shift+2 and alt+rmb for weighted normal not working.
