Thanks for the honest review! I run my RCs mostly in a dusty environment so this will definitely put the brakes on what was a highly anticipated purchase until Arrma addresses this issue. And no I'm not drilling out holes to see if that fixes a serious design flaw in a brand new $500.00 RC.
Yeah, after my first run my dad and I sat there for like 10 minutes trying to get the body off 🤣 but after a couple runs it seems to have broken in and it's not very hard anymore. Its not worth worrying about
Right it never be perfect and only close if you tune your rc for your environment, if you live in colder climates , shells aren’t a issue, as arrma designed rcs more arrow dynamic or sealed for dirt , heat going increase , RTR really just a starting point . Also manufactures are not gearing conservatively so they can impress you with high speed on the box .
@@SleekHobbies88 mine gets pretty warm, but doesn't overheat. And I live in the desert. It's been 95 degrees outside every time. And about the shell, it breaks in. I wouldn't be too worried about it. I had issues getting mine off the first couple of times but it seems to self clearance pretty quickly and after the first few packs it's really not much of a problem anymore. Given that we're used to having to upgrade weak points on basically every new vehicle that comes out I don't think taking 5 seconds with a drill to slightly clearance those holes is really that big of a deal anyway.

Thanks for the honest review! The control & handling seem awesome, power seems adequate, and the protective inner shell seems to toughen it up alot. But thats an interesting find with the sand getting stuck in the inner shell pins preventing removal of the body. Seems like some rubber plugs in the bottom and/or foam-rubber washers on top of the inner posts would keep the sand out of there. Also slits down the side of the posts for sand drainage, even rubberized inner body posts, but something, anything that keeps it from getting stuck. My whole reason for pre-ordering one was because it would be my first new ARRMA... One that I shouldn't have to do much to, maybe a quick diff & screw check while charging a lipo, then set endpoints, calibrate the ESC & go. Great video. It’s not put me off it but im glad i watched this and will put o-rings on the body posts and maybe tape the chassis. Or i may wait to see if they drop the price of the 6s version now that this is out?
If only they made some type of spray to repel insects... sounds like someone got mad at gnats and took it out on the truck. I just can't get that upset about dirt. I will still take body post over chasing the truck down to put the body back on after every crash and cutting off crappy proprietary battery connectors. I'm not canceling my order over this. What do i know tho, I'm a happy Fireteam owner.
That's some serious BS for sure. No reason they should be charging these high prices & then expecting us consumers to do the R&D . We should demand better from all these companies. Speaking of companies could you pick up a Rlaarlo road car. They look pretty decent but I would love ti see what you think of them. Cheers Eman
@@earlmoorhead5555 they have a full compliment of parts on their website. That said who knows if the parts are o stock & how long will they take to arrive. $200 to get into a road car that will do 50plus mph & looks good is one hell of a sweet sounding deal.
I dont like free reviews for a car. Arrma used to do this. The kraton 4s v2 was pictured as the best truck ever when it was absolutely not. The chassis all went out of stock day one because it broke because the hinge pins were rounded at the ends. Arms way toi strong
It was 6-8 months waiting for parts while arrma was installing the diffs into the EXBMojave at that time and I was calling monthly with Rc guy garage doing the same I even built a locker just to run the rc car
I personally am ok with it getting stuck on, as brand new, once it's on and off enough times, it will loosen up, like every other part. The over all product is worth the price. The OutKast I broke the 3rd time I ran it, broke a slide pin right out of the actual frame. I don't feel like that small issue isn't a real issue. It will wear in. Eventually then wear out... But thanks for the video, I'm impressed with everything else, it's usually a run time issue I always have, I would like to get bored of it, before I have to swap batteries first. So run time is also really good as well.
All I'm saying is: calling this rig a fail just because of a body post is horrible. I do agree, this should have been figured out beforehand. But the issue isn't a big deal at all. Mine personally broke in and isn't difficult at all anymore about 8 runs in. But I agree, they definitely should have figured something out before launch Just wanted to clarify my mess of an argument 👍
wow, think that's the first time I heard you swear!! But I get it. Trying to create a quick release like Traxxas but it's not a very good one. Maybe stick to pins or come up with one better. Shocking that they didn't test the RC on a BMX track and you didn't even bash hard!!!. I hope Arrma get back to you or at the very least make some changes. But as always cheers for the video.. PS. I think I'll stick with my 6S Mojave. 🙂
I was buying every arrma untill the same thing happened with the outcast 6s exb then the talion followed by the fireteam it was the bearings failed first run and was waiting on the 4s drop before that but i got put off as just didn't trust the quality and now I've lost my love for having the whole fleet as when they also sell them dirt cheap compared when you buy at the first drop it really makes it feel different about your collection.
You find it because your not getting free stuff and afraid to loose a sponsorship. That is crazy the body will get stuck like that maybe some kind of rubber washer put on the posts to keep dirt out or like you said drill it out but that might still allow dirt to get stuck. That was a easy run there shouldn't have been any problems the shocks seem a bit light sounded like it was bottoming out.
gosh not more stuff stuck in the steering!! literally the downfall of arrmas with the plastic chassis, sad its not fixed completely, never had this problem with traxxas EVER!!
It's not, it breaks in after a few runs. Mine was like this and really really really hard to get off, but now it's fine. Just a good hold on the roll cage and shake it good and it pops out
Not the end but why are we dealing with a dirt rc car that I can’t remove a body to get at the power supply 🤷🏻♂️and it won’t break in over time no way as it’s funneling dirt into the post
@@earlmoorhead5555 I do get it, I didn't mean to sound flippant. My biggest gripe with Arrma are the crap electronics they use, I live in Scotland & rain is our thing, I've had spectrum ESC's crap out the first time out in the rain, the damned servos are just as bad.! It's not my place to be giving you advice, but try not to let these things get you mad brother.!! @alantaylor353 I get it I buy every brand out there arrma just needs testing before an rc get released and all these little issue will be gone or at least a warranty issue rather then a defect they fix later on v2 or v3
It’s been this way since covid and economy. Im 53 and been into new technology since 2011. Yes, quality control is absent on mostly everything. It’s not cool . I agree that everything can be modified but not in this case.
Im torn. On the one hand, this seems like it should been easy to get right. The way the cage braces on the body should be higher up and more shallow. On the other hand, all rcs unfortunately have issues. The xrt tires are way too small and the foams get broken easily, the motors are made out of crap and most traxxas servos are too weak & slow for the application. Really if arrma and traxxas both put in their strong suits you’d get a perfect rc. I feel the issues traxxas cars have are much easier to fix though.
No because the price of traxxas it should be ready to go and sure NBD get 20$ servo nope can’t do that purposely done to get you spend few hundred more . All value aside all great rcs all need tuning and better with upgrades
That’s why I say Fuck Arrma! Never been a fan. But I do own the speed run cars, and Kraton. Just overall Arrma quality is junk. I feel your pain after spending the money you do.
I couldn't agree more Arrma is junk! They do zero r&d just the cheapest materials possible hence why they have bendy chassis, even there fasteners are low quality! But the deluded fan boyz do love them!
They made them rounded to make it easier to put the body on. The posts should have been skinnier then. Yeah i agree arrma not doing much testing these days. Horizon hobby:/
Wow 😞 this is a real turndown. Did you have any issues with rocks getting between steering and locking it? For me it’s the biggest issue in Arrma 3S line and I was hoping that Arrma finally did something for it with a Mojave 4S.
What a bummer its a flaw in design like that that keep me from purchaseing one. Cant run a dessert buggy on dessert terrain gonna aggrivate alot of people.
Hi Earl, I'd be pissed too! They need to stop making us the Guinea pigs. Say what they want about Traxxas, but they test stuff like crazy before release and generally only make minor changes because thier platforms are tried and true if a bit old now. Whenever they do change something, you can be fairly certain it's a good change... Great video man! 💯 🤜 🤛
Yes I agree even Losi does testing the RZR was a great rc tho expensive but no real issues and the promoto Mx same great rc just a little expensive like traxxas great products but no real design flaws on release
@@earlmoorhead5555 yeah i saw the sledge hammer part. Was just mentioning you can grab the roof and shake the car to the floor the sudden stop makes it pop off. Sometimes after a try or 2
It’s not great about the body getting stuck on but I feel you was a bit harsh in this review. The car drove great and took a few bashes. I get that it should be perfect out the box but this can easily be fixed within minutes. Just my opinion tho.
Crazy you had to hit it that hard with a giant hammer 🔨 an other large tool. I definitely whoulda been stuck and super pissed cause i dont have those tools so not sure how i would of fixed it. I probably whoulda messed it up more trying to get it off. Right though not for 500$ shouldn't happen
Yep they just lost all your viewers as potential customers. I was almost gonna order it. I think a product needs a year of testing before it goes out. I bought a 1000cc side by side from Robby Gordon’s new brand Speed UTV. I’ve waited 3 years now but I know that the long wait is due to them testing the crap out of it and making changes to make the best possible product for the market. A few runs in dirt would have revealed this problem but now there’s no way to go backwards in time to make it right. Really sad. I’m very disappointed
Funny that’s what ppl said about the Fireteam at first then whatcha know I was right same thing with the ExB Kraton roller then it’s everywhere seems I have to find out first before others will call them out 💯that what’s upsetting to me
Hello, I'm not saying it's not a problem, but it's not that serious, I think if you put some rubber washers or a sponge, some oil on those pins will solve it All manufacturers have problems, some more serious or less serious...I changed to ESC under warranty at Traxxas because I got fed up...my opinion is that you wanted to click bite, no offense
@make4all2000 yes but factories don’t send you parts months later and have you fix cars they pay for everything as it should be not expecting to have the customers do the labor
I honestly don't like the color schemes of either body. I'd love either 90% red, or white, or blue.... Not either all 3, or just red and white. Fuggly.
I'm sorry, but more and more I see of this Mokave, it still seems like a redesigned Senton. The size, body shape, chassis shape to a certain degree.... It'd be cheaper to buy a Brushless Senton and drop a 4S ESC and little bigger tires and BOOM! Set... $500 foe the Mojave seems like a joke
Idk I’m worried about the funnel they added in the chassis as it really put the dirt going right to the post causing it to get jammed in there I would need to drill it pretty big to stop the small sand going in then it opens up for bigger rocks to jam it

Earl i have never been such a fan as in this video been here since the beginning, and im sure you recognize my screen name by now! Big fan earl keep it a buck no matter what! 💯
Great video. It’s not put me off it but im glad i watched this and will put o-rings on the body posts and maybe tape the chassis.
Or i may wait to see if they drop the price of the 6s version now that this is out?
11:58 great control. Those are some big damn knats bro
They where attacking me like I was a big turd 💩 walking around out there lmao 🤣
Cheers Eman
There no part support for them so I try and stick with the top 3 brands but they do look cool 😎
Like your reviews, I know why this happens thir rushing products out last year as well not testing I agree bull crap .sorry about the issue
The exb diff was solved. Pretty fast if i recall correctly. We just needed the LSD plates and then the open diff kit
It was 6-8 months waiting for parts while arrma was installing the diffs into the EXBMojave at that time and I was calling monthly with Rc guy garage doing the same I even built a locker just to run the rc car
Love ya Earl! Give em hell! Don't drop something if it has issues! 👍👍😎🛸👽🤟🤟
Always happy to hear an Honest non biased, No BS Reveiw. thanks brother .
Appreciate your support for this video 👍💯👌
All I'm saying is: calling this rig a fail just because of a body post is horrible. I do agree, this should have been figured out beforehand. But the issue isn't a big deal at all. Mine personally broke in and isn't difficult at all anymore about 8 runs in. But I agree, they definitely should have figured something out before launch
Just wanted to clarify my mess of an argument 👍
I'd run a drill bit that is slightly bigger than the hole for the body pins and just waller it out a little.
Earl is FRESH NATTY MEAT 🤣😂🤣😂
Getting bugged by California bugs is no joke lmao 🤣 😮😢
Hopefully you find a quick fix…
Glad you got this so I didn't have to haha! Love the content though keep it up!
You feel the slipper working? 😅
Definitely a good slipper clutch lmao 😂 idk why I’m stuck on that word now 🤷🏻♂️
wow, think that's the first time I heard you swear!! 🙂
Maybe placing an o-ring on the post might help
Earl looks at way it running arrma Mojave 4s on video waiting to see thank you for is 👍💯
Right on
Try cutting the posts so they just go below the countersink and not deep in the hole.
Nice review man !
You have the right to be pissed like you said if you had a fire that rc would’ve been done 500 bucks would be down the drain
gosh not more stuff stuck in the steering!! literally the downfall of arrmas with the plastic chassis, sad its not fixed completely, never had this problem with traxxas EVER!!
Traxxas sucks!
Nope and the Losi RZR used post with no issues
Homie glued the posts in😂😂
Anytime I have a bug problem I do a burn out out dust cloud ☁️ around me than there gone
Some of those jumps looking good
I was trying to make it smooth 😯🤣
Sounded like chassis was bottoming out alot..maby needs more preload adjust
@@kg2mb1 have you seen the spacers that are already installed factory😳 I'm thinking that's about all that will fit
Then its going to need stiffer springs, but if theres not enough shock travel that wont help much..
Stiffer springs and take spacers out
Doesn't seem like the end of the world though...
It's not just Arrma though, it seems like a lot of manufacturers think it's okay to give us products that are "good enough" & it's up to us to fettle them to get them 100%..
If you'd had a lipo fire & that happened then by all means get mad as hell. 😉 😉
What's your fix going to be.? Take a bit off the posts.?
Love your work btw.! 👍 👍 👍
@alantaylor353 I get it I buy every brand out there arrma just needs testing before an rc get released and all these little issue will be gone or at least a warranty issue rather then a defect they fix later on v2 or v3
@@earlmoorhead5555 it's not a big deal my guy. It works fine after a couple tries. Yeah it sucks at first but it resolves itself
So what is the response from Arrma on this body post issue? I may want a Mojave 4s, but not after watching this.
They say drill to 10MM hole
@@earlmoorhead5555 kind of lame. The later produced models still have the same issue?
@jasonbrown31485 idk I know Jason was aware of the issue and reached out to me hopefully he’s solved it by now
All they won't is money
That’s why I say Fuck Arrma! Never been a fan. But I do own the speed run cars, and Kraton. Just overall Arrma quality is junk. I feel your pain after spending the money you do.
I couldn't agree more Arrma is junk! They do zero r&d just the cheapest materials possible hence why they have bendy chassis, even there fasteners are low quality! But the deluded fan boyz do love them!
cool rc , but the gnats loll xD hehehhaha i hate um ! .. 24:30 the rocks scratching your paint put the RC in the Trunk
This is definitely a 4S I won't be getting. City bashing gets my rigs nasty dirty and this would easily happen in my environment.
No, you went easy on it, from what I watched. Arrma needs to wake up, & that's why I stick to companies that TEST their r/cs
They made them rounded to make it easier to put the body on. The posts should have been skinnier then. Yeah i agree arrma not doing much testing these days. Horizon hobby:/
Yes I’d say horizon if Losi last few drops the rc been great even that little RZR they did worked perfectly
Wow 😞 this is a real turndown.
Did you have any issues with rocks getting between steering and locking it? For me it’s the biggest issue in Arrma 3S line and I was hoping that Arrma finally did something for it with a Mojave 4S.
Yes in the video but I didn’t have to stop running to remove the body shake the steering and it was unstuck
What a bummer its a flaw in design like that that keep me from purchaseing one. Cant run a dessert buggy on dessert terrain gonna aggrivate alot of people.
Appreciate your support for this video 💯🙏
Was the post issue the only issue you’ve came across so far? I ordered one the other day and it hasn’t come in yet.
Drill it out 1/64 of an inch. Problem fixed. I'm a RUclips R/C expert and I know what works.
@@earlmoorhead5555 exactly!
Hey cool seeing both you guys here tho😊👍😉
Grab it by the roof and shake xD. Seen you try everything except use gravity xD. It pops out that way
I took a sledge hammer to the post to get it out the washers and oring solved the issue with no drilling
@@earlmoorhead5555 yeah i saw the sledge hammer part. Was just mentioning you can grab the roof and shake the car to the floor the sudden stop makes it pop off. Sometimes after a try or 2
Yes after amma reached out and realized there was an issue arrma started making the hole bigger so that would work
@@earlmoorhead5555 oh awesome :) good video.
It’s not great about the body getting stuck on but I feel you was a bit harsh in this review. The car drove great and took a few bashes. I get that it should be perfect out the box but this can easily be fixed within minutes. Just my opinion tho.
Can be fixed but arrma needs to test these rc cars
Looks really good but, sounds like crap. Glad I waited for your review. It's definitely a clunky basher. I'll pass on this one.
I agree it was so stuck I’ve never experienced this ever in rc before
Yep they just lost all your viewers as potential customers.
Calm down. I've seen many videos of this. Not seen that problem before.
Funny that’s what ppl said about the Fireteam at first then whatcha know I was right same thing with the ExB Kraton roller then it’s everywhere seems I have to find out first before others will call them out 💯that what’s upsetting to me
It just sounds cheaply made😢 Needs an Earl tune-up 😅
Hello, I'm not saying it's not a problem, but it's not that serious, I think if you put some rubber washers or a sponge, some oil on those pins will solve it All manufacturers have problems, some more serious or less serious...I changed to ESC under warranty at Traxxas because I got fed up...my opinion is that you wanted to click bite, no offense
There are warranty issues in the auto industry, and these issues are everywhere...
@make4all2000 yes but factories don’t send you parts months later and have you fix cars they pay for everything as it should be not expecting to have the customers do the labor
I just watched another update video of this happening … I’m staying away from this one
I honestly don't like the color schemes of either body. I'd love either 90% red, or white, or blue.... Not either all 3, or just red and white. Fuggly.
The white Toyota TRD style looks cool the metallic blue and red don’t really fit the desert truck style
@@lowridr2 yes! The all white body with stickers and logos would look the best.
tip top review brother
Thanks
😳 this doesn't sound or look like the MO-JA-VEE standards we are used to 🤔
Go watch razor rc this guy is a weenie! Razor rc actually runs it & puts it through its paces!!
It's better. Idk what you're seeing that I'm not 😅
💩 krap 💩 💩 its krap i say
@@meirdeaph You can say what you want, it doesn't make it true 🤣🤣
Why the fuck is it tappered? Straigh holes would have been fine. I guess they thought it worked on the fireteam. LOL FIRETEAM
It’s now a big funnel that with the protector installed directs all the sand and rocks strait into it 🤷🏻♂️💯
ARRMA is one the Best rc car manufacturer !!!
Well.that sucks...😮
Drill them out seems to be the best idea . Why are they still using G.D. Body clips in 2023 anyway ?
Idk I’m worried about the funnel they added in the chassis as it really put the dirt going right to the post causing it to get jammed in there I would need to drill it pretty big to stop the small sand going in then it opens up for bigger rocks to jam it
