Erica was a great character. I forgot she had some really good storylines!

I often wonder why they stopped using Mrs Davidson as a recurring character after episode 454? Personally I would have loved her to have remained Head of Department and made periodic visits to the show. I guess it was either a case of Pasty King not wanting to appear anymore, or, the writers wanting to go in another direction.
The actress that played Erica's mother also played Mrs Hartley who Jenny "Nana' Hartley was put on remand accused of killing.

My personal meemo about old Davo is that i love her, and do a really good impression of her voice, though personally i prefer Reno as the Guv. Though that is probably because the 84/85 period when Myra was Top Dog is my favourite time.
I can't agree about Reno being a better Governor than Erica. That's not to say I didn't like Ann, but he was far too emotional, she could never quite decide if she wanted to e governor or not and she kept taking back the Freak time and again, whereas Erica would never have taken her back. She also accepted the Freak setting up Bea, which again Erica wouldn't have done.
Ann cared, I grant you that and she did do good, but Erica was generally far better IMHO

One thing that I never understood about Barbara's storyline: she's supposed to be Erica's niece, so why did Barbara also have the surname Davidson? That was Erica's married name, and her maiden name was Marne. Seeing as Barbara is the daughter of Erica's brother James, her surname should've been Marne, not Davidson.

@@WentworthRocket Which would make the relation even fuzzier. Barbara is thus ex-hubby's niece, not Erica's. Which in turn means that Erica wasn't at all tied to her, and most certainly not after the divorce. And the surname thing could easily have been white-lied as pure coincidence. Oh well. 😎

@@danielvanr.8681 Well just because you divorce someone doesn't mean the relation between you and your niece/nephew is severed. Erica would still be considered Barbara's aunt regardless if she's married or not to her blood uncle. If your aunt and uncle got divorced, I'm sure you'll still label the non-blood one your aunt or uncle depending on who it is.
