My Auntie worked on this show for three years as an extra - from 1979-1982 she met most of this cast. She moved back to England in 88 after living in oz for 20 years. She said there were allot of British people working on Prisoner. The extras didn't get paid very well she said and at the time they had little idea how popular it would become either. She's 64 now, but still has fond memories of it. She used to have a cigarette with Anne Phelan (Myra) during breaks, who she said was very nice.
What an interesting story. Thanks for sharing. Did your Aunt ever have any speaking parts like some of the extra's did from time to time? Lil, Bev, Laura Young, Tiny Murray. I belive at one point they had extra's doing ironing and Val Lehman apparently made sure they got paid for it. Although Myra (Anne Phelan) didn't become a main character until 1983 when your aunt left. She did however do a few appearances being the PRG representive from 1981.

The actress playing Bobbie moved from this show to a new show just starting called Neighbours.
If I recall correctly, she played Terri. The plumber apprentice of Max Ramsey, and ended up becoming the first Mrs Paul Robinson.
Stan made an remarkable recovery, the last we saw him, it looked like he had only a day or two to live.
To be fair, most people look a bit rough when they're in hospital. Otherwise they wouldn't be in hospital. Recovery is a great thing.
Those pills 💊 Stan takes are a bloody miracle! He clutches his chest then pops a pill 💊 and is absolutely fine 😂
@francistreml148 it could be Nitroglycerin he's taking... it's placed under the tongue at the first sign of chest tightness and it dissolves, working quickly to relax the blood vessels

You would have been laughed at where I lived. Then again, not many Culture Club fans in the Western Suburbs of Sydney. More into Zeppelin, Stones and Sabbath.
@@karennicholls8532 I liked Culture club with their 1982 kissing to be clever look and mixture of reggae and other great sounds. After they became too commercial with Karma Chemeleon and the album released around this time early 1985, waking up with the house on fire was a flop. I had a love/hate with this band growing up.

Bobbie makes a cameo in a little while but I'll say no more than that! Really pleased she got her happy ending and will miss her, but my GOD she was loud!

I don't understand why some of the other major characters weren't given as good a send-off as Maxine got .some literally just walked off the set and you never heard from them again --thinking of course of Val and Jane.

Eugene DeGeorge Val left because she didn’t get on with producers.they didn’t care about her ending, they just wanted rid of her . Carol burns ( frankly Doyle ) left episode 19 I think because they wouldn’t up her pay . Same reason Ann phelan ( Myra ) leaves, she wanted same wages as berry bobbit ( Judy ) but they wouldn’t pay it
Myra should have made 10 times more than Judy a.k.a. Blubber guts who can’t act.

Sad to see another big character go. Bobbie/ Maxine Klibingaitis first appeared in episode 405, ( entering Wentworth with Minnie Donovan), so another long term PCBH character disappears, so soon after Pixie
I'm going to miss Bobby, too, but I'm glad things have turned out well for her, unlike so many other characters (especially Pixi and Cass, in my opinion).

I hope Bobbie makes a proper go of it this time because everything is in place to give her the start she needs. She has a job, a secure home with two people who care about her and so there is no real excuse for her to fail, that is providing she starts thinking more before she acts. It was her spontaneous actions which got her in hot water so many times before though so you can't help but have reservations about her chances.

28:36 That old geezer on the parole board has been recycled a fair bit. He was Lyn Warner's boss on the farm and he's appeared as a judge at least once.
I'm pretty sure Bobbi won't be back inside since they were playing her out with the instrumental version of the theme song. It would have been nice to see her leave wearing her trademark Walkman.
Lexie is scum like Lou and Frank.
We must give Murphy his due though.. If it weren't for him getting her that job, she may not have had such a positive result..!

Pixie and Cass ended up in a mental institution, Maxine was killed, Helen and Chrissie just got transferred... it's rare to see one of the young inmates get a happy ending. I'm really happy that Bobbie is one of the rare cases. Pixie, Cass & Helen (and Bea) deserved much better exits than they got.

Myra Desmond wouldnt have been impressed with Bobbi Mitchell taking dope. I like Myra Desmonds no drugs stance. Most of the top dogs that have the no drugs stance have had someone ruined by drugs such as Bea Smiths daughter, Myra Desmonds Daughter, Rita Connors brother.
I have not got to Rita Connors yet but I liked Bea and I like Myra.

I really wish they hadn't turned Judy into such a wimp and given her a bad heart, a better direction for her would have been someone who was basically against violence but could really kick ass when necessary or at least VERY effectively defend herself.

I always really liked Bobbie. She had some great storylines (loved her escapade to Sydney with Sonia Stevens!) and even though (for me, anyhow) she was part of the new batch of prisoners i.e. post Bea she had an old-school Prisoner quality about her as well. Best of luck, Bobbie. And yes, I shed a bit of a tear too.

9:30 Wait a minute Judy! You are giving a drug lecture? You were first arrested for......??????? Smuggling drugs in prison. 11:50 Dropping acid before lights out in a prison? Clearly the writers have zero experience with acid; This is a bad trip. 16:50 Bobby gets way too many 2nd chances;
Sadly though, Judy was blinded by irresponsibility, naivety and stupidity because of her girlfriend Sharon Gilmore, and would do anything within reason for Sharon, which meant it would be hypocritical of Judy not excepting people taking or selling drugs later on in time. Judy would smuggle in money, cannabis, and some kind of drugs in pill form, for Sharon to sell to the women.
Judy didn't see how much drugs affected people's lives until she ended up in Wentworth, and made friends who would sometimes get involved with drugs, even learning about how drugs affected Bea and her daughter Debbie's life and death, the same with Myra and her daughter Kay's life.
When she got paroled and worked at the halfway house (the first and second Driscoll House) she also had to professionally deal with women who were ex-inmates, or potential inmates to stay off drugs, or to stay away from drugs so the women don't end up in prison because of drugs, nor to get hooked on drugs.

I see Maxine Klibingaitis quite often she lives here in Melbourne infact they all live here out of this. you can see some of them the odd time in the city centre. but Maxine Klibingaitis (Bobby) is often in the " Q LOUNGE " seen her in there about 5 times now.

I always thought Stan and Edie were developed from Supermans earth parents Jonathan and Martha Kent. Stans heart condition like Jonathan Kents is one of the most obvious similarities. Plus when Stan wanted to foster Bobbie, Edie was skeptical. When Martha Kent wanted to foster the child Superman, Jonathan was skeptical about it.

Shane's foster dad is Doug Willis from Neighbours. But how come there are dozens of comments saying Bobbie is my favorite actress, I'm so happy for her, I'm going to miss her etc? You can take any other episode that she's in at random and the comments are nothing but people complaining about her incessant yelling!
