Dang, I always tied the crankbait on the split ring opposite of where I was supposed to. Always thought there was danger in the thinnest part of getting damaged. You explain things so much better than any other pro.

I never tie the line on the split ring opening. I always thought it could rub the knot and break off. I guess that’s why you are the “Professional”. Thanks again for sharing all the knowledge you know. Keep sharing and bring us along the bass hunt.

Great tip on tying onto the slit ring. I have always done the opposite thinking that if I tied in the narrow portion the line could get pulled into the split therefor pinching or cutting into the line. Never thought about the perspective you gave. Thanks a lot. Love all the details. Great channel.

I’m trying to learn how to fish rivers and lakes (Lake Dardanelle) after growing up in the boondocks fishing in creeks and ponds my whole life. Let’s say it’s been a challenge!
My family didn’t have much back then and with 3 tours in college :). I now have a boat, electronics, and I’m trying to learn what I wanted to know back then. How to find and land the big toads. Because, my son likes to fish but he sure likes it a lot more when we can actually catch fish together. I’m failing at that part right now lol. I do appreciate all the tips and nuggets from your RUclips channel and Bass U classes. It’s helped out tremendously but I’ve still got a ways to go lol.

I recently fished a BFL tournament after watching your top 3 baits for June video and started out throwing the chartreuse blue deep diving crankbait and the action could not have been more on key! But I didn’t change out the hooks and it cost me the tournament. I had to 4 pounders throw it back at me because the barbs were to small. Lesson learned. I finished 13th.
