I own a Girardi bass (Bloom 5 strings). In Italy, it's an established brand for some time now and is growing very rapidly because these basses are designed to rock! To all those who want to give lessons on varnishing, I can only say "go look at the other models!"
Slap sound is surprisingly good compared to the classic-ish finger style sound. Very responsive pickup I guess, reacting well to the dynamic of the playing. Always nice to see you guys trying gear ^^
I'm surprised how many people are still bugged by the fake distressed finishes. When they first came out (about 600 years ago), it was outrageous. Who are you trying to fool?, we all thought. At this point, it's just another finish, nobody is fooled and nobody is trying to fool anybody. Like a sunburst or a sparkle, both of which are to a degree fake vintage, though not fake used. I think it's cool. If I owned this bass, I'd ditch the ramp and the pickguard, and feel secure knowing that my vintage comes from my career, not my bass, and this bass is f***ing cool.
I don't get upset about deception, I just don't like the idea of faking wear and I don't care for how it looks. But that's just personal preference; if I slopped my opinions over everything I didn't like, I'd be a miserable bore.
@@Sergio-dh5qh You know it, brother. But only if they're "fake worn out." Perfectly symmetrical wrinkles, carefully penciled-in. $200 Salt and Pepper highlights from the Salon de Bougie. Orthopedic Shoes at age 22's. Woo! I'm rocking grandpa sweaters with fake elbow patches myself. 🤣 I mean, I'm actually that old though, but never mind.
I don’t really care about any ‘deception’ and normally I don’t care about the faux distress either but uhhh this bass is very ugly IMO. Sounds great too, shame😕
i agree. when it first started showing up, i was absolutely a hater. i literally could give a rat's a$$ anymore. i think the bass is really cool. love the way it sounds.👍
I would really love for more bass-builders to experiment with angeled pickups. i absolutely love how in a reversed P pickup, the high strings still sound full but if you listen very closely you will hear the slight jump from the a to the d string, where the pickup position changes. a angeled pickup would make these changes much smoother, just like the did here. Fantastic sound, but not really my looks...
But what if you want mojo now? It would take decades or even more to get just a small fraction of that wear. Thick poly finishes just don't wear down and "relic" like that these days.
To me, it seems like referring to the jack where the bass' signal leaves (aka the output) as an "input" jack is a gross violation of German precision (no pun intended). 😁
@@basstheworldofficial Great compromise. 😁 I was going to comment on the video of the new Quilter amp that the Headphone jack and DI were referred to "outputs", but I won't... 😉
A original 50s P-Bass is a 5 figure purchase. We’re far off that and a modern instrument comes with many advantages. Hardware is 1000 times better today. They’re completely noiseless, etc
@@basstheworldofficial Whatever. Sit down - some of us have been playing long enough to know what's what. A 70s to early 80s P bass, which is the best sounding instrument of its kind, can be bought for about $3K. Also, this instrument looks like shit.
It may be a really badass sounding bass but looking like this, I would never ever pay about 2200,- never! Even my 70s Fender's looking much better. Who's paying this much for a "junkyard look"?
I have to agree the look might not be for everyone.. I personally do not like the fake distressed look.. Give me that in a nice sunburst or honeyburst finish and a classic pickguard and Id love it :).
You know the person who builds the bass and the person who relics it are either the same person or part of the same team in this case, right? Same with Sandberg's aged basses. It's not "disrespect to craftsmanship" whatsoever; it IS part of the craftsmanship. You're completely allowed to not like how it looks, but you're acting like they took a real vintage P-bass and spray-painted it neon green.

i've tried it at a show in Rome, it sounds amazing and it feels even better
love the look
I want it. Perfect for me. Already have two Ps with Jazz necks, but this is in a category of its own. And damn the haters, this thing is beautiful.
“Freedom kilos!” 🤣🤣🤣
That thing is the greatest embodiment of "Its so ugly its beautiful" I've ever seen.
Ho provato quasi tutti i modelli di Girardi in fiera e devo dire che mi hanno sorpreso fin da subito per suono e comodità, davvero eccellenti!
I tried this bass and it's fuckin' awesome. I played with the pick and it has a killer sound. I like it very much in every aspect.🎸🔥

Thank you, and for us it's always great fun! Atb, Lars
Perhaps a belt-sander would help.
“Freedom Kilos” …. 🤣😂😅😆
You must make that into a T-Shirt !!!! 😆

ugh! Fake distress! If I wan't a bass with mojo, I want to be the one who earned that mojo.

You could play that bass wearing your pre-ripped jeans though!
Stereotype opinions on "fake distress" are kinda... well... forgettable.
Played this one at guitar show in Padova and that was an awesome bass
Love the grungy relic finish ❤
"Freedom Kilos" ! I'm stealing that 😂
Sounds great! I'd love to get my hands on one!
Wow that bass sounds vintage … 😍
Very cool. Punk relic. Just like me.
I wish more companies would make 5-string P-basses.
Lars for the win 🤘
Cheeeeers! 🙂
i swear i'm gonna make a shirt that says "Freedom Kilos!!!!" it STILL makes me laugh everytime you say it!!!
Looks like expensive firewood. I’d still play it some.
The growl is awesome
Those factory "distressed", "worn" and "relic" finishes are a disgrace.
Glad they do that for you :)
The more people hate this bass in the comments, the more I like it! 🤩
0:01 i saw a lot of demos of that buzz hornet p bass and sounds better that Girardi in my opinion
I believe it feels great, I can hear it sounds great, but yea oof that look is not my cup of tea😂
Little weak sounding on the finger style playing, but the pick and slap sound is up front and great!
It sounds way too clean for something that looks like that. Will definitely blow the minds of anyone with expectations of how it should sound.
Oh god please please don't start doing the "youtube thumbnail" faces :(
Allow us to have some fun every now and then. Will you?
Honestly, that face looks like Carol Kaye!

It’s where you put the cable in 😉
@@basstheworldofficial But it's where the signal comes out.
What do you call the jacks on the amp where you connect the speakers? Inputs or Outputs?
Just „puts“ 😉

The price tag on these Girardi basses is the same as buying an actual vintage instrument. What's the point?

Ban fake relics!

Doesn't really sound like a classic P ? Or is it just me
I think it does. It's got that mid-frequency honky character.

Sounds beautiful!!- can't say the same for the look though sorry
beautiful one-trick-pony 🤣😂🤣
Id be all over that, sounds fantastic

Artificial aging! How I hate that!
Its both wanna-be and disrespect to craftsmanship.
And it is ugly.

That bass might not exactly be my cup of tea,
but I just love it for the hysterical comments it provokes from those wannabe gatekeepers.
Pass me a super even machine, I need one right now! 🤣
Sound amazing, but why so ugly??
Why so salty?
I agree.
I would like to have it. It's beautiful! Damn the non playing haters.
Oof. I like it, but is it $2400 US good?
