That's cool. A bit of CA glue to hold it together could help too. Well done Nic.

A little glue where the pieces joined would also have gotten rid of the line on the outside. They also make an inexpensive heating tool that has coils that melt into the parts. The pins that fit into the special soldering iron are just cut off after the repair. Good video !
Thank you. Yes I’ve seen the heating guns with the pins and would like to try them in the future. I already had a soldering iron so this was the way I went. Do you think using the mesh is stronger or the pins?.
I have used the heated coils where plastic needed strength, broken hood on John deere riding mower, for instance. When you nip off the legs of the pins follow it up with something like a Dremel tool. Those pins are sharp where cut off !
