Grassland started out with a good reputation but started to go downhill years ago even before pre covid! Understandably there's time of unpredictable circumstances happening but it's really unacceptable for a 4 hours no stop break for any coach operator! A big Thank You for your update on such happening so that others will better decide on which tour bus operator to choice!👍👍👍
Yeah, we won't aware that they got brought over my Sri maju as well until we boarded the bus. The whole bus was complaining about the bus not stopping since KL, but the driver just laughed it off.
@@thebiannualtravellers Grassland Express was brought over by Super Nice (Grassland Malaysia Partner) during the Covid Period. Well I don't really like Sri Maju nor others as they use SCANIA or VOLVO buses. I am a MAN bus fanatic so only Grassland (Now under a New name Super Nice) have those buses. You might be thinking Bus Brand got make a difference ? Absolutely! The ride , the suspension , how it feels , how airy it floats over the road is things that i consider before buying a long distance bus ticket . If you ask why not take Plane - I see Air crash investigation too many times until i truly have a phobia of flying- i want to stop watching but yet its intriguing to see how investigators investigate Air crashes.
@@derrickloh7558 4 Hours need break ah ? I got Eurasian friends who took coaches to malaysia & their bus (Also Grassland) stopped at least 4 times (1 for Toilet break , 1 for Yong Peng , 1 for another Toilet break & 1 for a Fuel Stop) to Perak , Ipoh. Some people in the bus wants to get there fast but don't want to take plane because of the check in rules (ie check in at 2 hours before flight for a 49 Mins flight) . Compare to their country (Germany) , there coach only stop 2 times on a 7 hour Journey. 2 Times. So stop being an ass and hold your pee or maybe dont drink water so no pee or better dont drink or eat before the journey, also you won't die from dehydration for 4 hours.
Thanks for sharing this bus journey. I have been going to Genting once every month to gamble. Paying the $150 levy to enter casino in Singapore does not make sense to me. I always go 2D1N and total cost is only $78. $48 from Singapore to Genting by KKKL or WTS and $30 from Genting to Singapore by 707. Hotel is always free and unlimited for me at First World Hotel. I can even stay for one month for free if I want to. I have never tried grassland but thanks to your video I can save myself from taking this bus. The best in my opinion is 707, followed by Ridewell, KKKL, WTS. Trans star is also good but I think it’s overpriced.
Wahhh that was indeed a bad coach journey.. it happened many times to me pre covid then I tried twice (to be fair and not judgemental) post covid. Drivers yak non stop on phone or to the other relief driver if any and smoke everynow and then. Hence nowadays I rather stay KL and take a day trip to Genting to enjoy the cool air .Genting hotels rooms not that cheap, food are exorbitant..overall 3D2N in KL plus day trip to Genting plus F&B still cheaper then staying the same period @ Genting...PS. its more comfortable to take the skyway as opposed to the winding road up all the way 😆
We tried afew bus companies up and down getting prior to this trip, and wanted to try this since grassland reputation is very good pre covid, not knowing grassland had been brought over, this is the first time sure issues occur, rest of the passengers were all complaining as well. We felt that we should show the true review of the bus ride, hence the video.
Supernice Grassland Singapore(Zenwan Express) actually acquired by Supernice Malaysia(E.Senibudaya). Example:PMQ9191 has changed company name already. Sri Maju and Zenwan are a bit like a partnership, so sometimes they are each other's bus. At Sri Maju Ipoh depot you can see Grassland bus parked inside.
I took grassland recently. Booked using easybook, to was SGD40 and back was SGD22. 1100 trip. A total different experience. Both to and fro buses were operated using the scania buses, much better than the MAN seen here. Bus travelling at 105kph on some legs, as detected on my google maps drive function. Departed Genting highlands at 10.50am, 10 mins ahead of schedule because all the passengers had checked in and boarded alr. We did stop at the first rest stop seen here, at the confectionary shop. We also stop at the toilet at kuala lumpur. Not only that, 40km before yong peng, driver made a refuel stop and allowed for toilet breaks. Thereafter, we also stop at yong peng for lunch as usual. Other than the slight delay at tuas checkpoint due to peak hours trucks blocking bus lane, and stopping at boon lay, bus reach grantral mall at 7.15pm, which was the fastest out of my trips. I did note THE ONE TRAVEL did not stop at yong peng and overtook us fairly early in the journey (Same departing trip from genting). I believe the 3.30pm trip doesnt stop at yong peng because its past lunch time and assumed you guys had eaten prior to boarding. As seen, reaching golden mile is already 11.21pm. Now they terninate at grantral which would meant further from golden mile, you would had reached there at 1am if include the rest stops. I still do like grassland better than transtar. Transtar 1 year 4 recorded accidents.
Thank you for the impressive and detailed write-up. I think it's reasonable for them not to stop at Yong peng for lunch as when passingby yeong peng is already around 5pm, but i think the passengers onboard was expecting a second toilet stop in between the journey from KL to Singapore.
Took on a Tues 3.30pm which was raining. Driver drive slowly which i thought was prudent until he seemed to have lost his way (2.5hrs in KL!)... reached woodlands checkpoint (huh?) At 11pm... no choice but to take this bus as 707 3pm sold out... 😢
Tbh the speed limit on malaysia highways is 90km/h for buses, so I wouldn’t consider it to be too slow unless the driver is driving way below that. However, running his own errands along the way is unprofessional though
Just curious, seen you going to Genting so many times like won’t you get bored of the place? What exactly do you go there for, I mean aside from Casino and weather, there’s really not much else to do there if you’re going there multiple times a year haha
Haha, ok lar of this many times we go up to genting, there is always something new that’s opened such as new restaurants to try out. Other than food is really just to create this bus and hotel guides to benefit viewers who are interested in going to genting.
@@thebiannualtravellers Personally food-wise in Genting I don’t really think it’s worth making the 6-8 hour journey just to try out a new restaurant that’s almost same price as SG, JB different story hahaha. Nonetheless it’s quite admirable you’re doing it to make guides to help people, I know your coach and directional guides did help me better plan my Genting trip last Feb so thank you 👍🏻
Buses that I like to take - MAN Coach - Best Suspension Ride with the best engine sound Ever . ( only found on Transtar & Grassland). Other Malaysia operators also operate MAN Coach but they dont come to singapore.
For this particular trip, the coach departed Genting at 1530 hrs and you arrived SG's Beach Road at 2330 hrs, that was ridiculous!!! My personal multiple-experience with RideWell, left Genting at 1130 hrs, sometimes almost immediately after checking-in all passengers at 1100 hrs, my gang reached Yishun which is the second stop after Jurong East at 1800 hrs, could say it was slightly less then 7 hours with no traffic at Tuas Checkpoint and being an off-peak season (No School and Public Holidays). Malay drivers, they do smoke but they do it when they are outside the vehicle; that was another consideration why Grassland/Nice was out of out consideration as their drivers (usually Indians) got a habit of talking on the phone the moment they started driving until the end of the world, ........ LOL !!!!
Im so upsad with this bus. 6 days ago my sis came feom ipoh to singapore by this companu bus. Got into accident and time wasted at malaysian highway. Then today she went back to ipoh same company bus she took n aircon spoilt thru out the journey. Time wasted again. Aren't the company suppose to do servicing first?? I guess they are not doing job well in maintaining the bus
Great video. I don't know how to say it, but all rest stop visiting by the bus is seems unfamiliar like previous Genting - Singapore bus. 4 hours without stopping since last stop is only acceptable if there's toilet installed onboard, but for this is unacceptable. I don't know is your bus got accident with the motorbike or it's just driver response watching fruit on the road? I don't know this bus installed with electronic speed limiter or not, but having drive below maximum speed limit is unacceptable. The last one I think it's only accepted in my country but without loudspeaker.
To fast complain..to slow also complain..dont understand people these days laa..btw almost all modern bus have a speed limiter which only allows the to speed until 95kph only
