MAARTIN ALLCOCK 1957-2018 We learned today of the sad news that Maartin Allcock had passed away after several months of battling the final stages of liver cancer. Maart’s work with Tull starting in the late 80s was memorable for his joy and exuberant commitment to music of all kinds - even ours. His time with the Fairports and his various collaborations with artists too numerous to mention here were marked by his skills in mastering several instruments and tackling many genres. He leaves behind a treasure trove of recordings and a feast of memories. RIP Maart.
This must have been around the 25th anniversary. JT sure has a lot of anniversaries, and box sets! ;-) The thing is that you can see what it is in Ian's singing that has progressed to the point today that ... and I don't think it is exactly that he has lost or is losing his voice, it is somehow his timing is off by about a beat, so that at least for me, all of these songs are hard to listen to. The vocals could work if he could spit them out on time, and of course the music and playing is almost always excellent. I liked the band in this time period ... so sad ... I just heard that Martin Allcock passed away. I saw them 1993 in Finland,Ruisrock festival.
The band was so tight and so loud! Awesome
Check out the Montreux show ... I've always thought that was one of the best live Tull concerts ever.
