Whoa, so get a load of this. I just heard Robbie say in the Last Waltz Stratocaster video that the guitar he bronzed for the movie was a “red Stratocaster” he bought in 1973 at Norm’s Rare Guitars. I deduce that’s the red one he’s playing at this show. This is the Last Waltz guitar he was destined to bronze.
I was there. And fabulous it was. Thanks for posting.
Awesome.....across the Great Divide. Never thought I’d see this live.
Chuck Shick that’s the exact thought I had!
ruclips.net/video/YMPwytwZ3jg/видео.html there is this version as well from 1970, but aside from these two, there’s no more video footage I’m aware of where the Band does this song.
I was there !! Absolutely incredible.
What a reminder..
Great show thanks for posting another classic Band show 👍👍!!!
Many thanks for uploading this......great footage .
There are so few real video concerts. Rough or not, it is 45 yrs old, I'm happy to watch it. I know all the words. I can fill in when the audio goes out. The video is priceless. Thanks for posting the whole thing
Gotta say, Richard looks and sounds real good here. Listen to how skillfully he comes down from the high falsetto on the third line in the chorus of "I Shall Be Released" to the melody line at the end. Who else does that? As Levon used to say with love and admiration, "Richard. RICHARD."
malbuff this song always brings me to tears. No one could sing that like Richard.
I saw them at Watkins Glenn the year before. I am just making believe this is that show..... so lucky this was shot. They were unique indeed.
This is absolutely amazing! I love the raw footage
that is david crosby grooving to SMOKE SIGNAL behind Richard. bet!
I was there that day. We ended up walking around the back of the stands and ended up sitting behind the stage looking down on CSNY! No security to stop or challenge us either!!
And it makes no difference where I turn, as far as I'm concerned the fire of the Band will always burn.
The true magic of a bygone era we will never experience again. But as long as we have the music we will never forget and as long as this old broken down corrupted world spins there's always hope the pendulum may swing back and light will once again beam though our souls and illuminate the footsteps set down before us and we can follow them to a brighter day where peace, truth, honour and love destroy anarchy, lies, corruption and hate where we can all be free at last, to quote a courageous, fearless leader of a bygone time who fought for the things we all truly long for.
NEVER SURRENDER BROTHERS AND SISTERS!
THE WORLD IS WHAT WE MAKE IT!
God Bless Them!

Wow, I was there and this is the first time I’ve ever seen any footage of it.
The feeling for you must be immense wow.
00:00 Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever --> no audio
01:15 Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever (audio back) (Hunter & Wonder)
02:58 The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down (Robertson)
06:42 Across The Great Divide (Robertson)
09:50 Endless Highway (Robertson)
17:10 Smoke Signal (Robertson)
23:01 I Shall Be Released (Dylan)
Smoke Signal is really rocking! thanks for posting.
Lee Kosmin Interestingly this is the last time ever they performed that song. Same goes with 'Endless Highway'
@@panhirvonen9195 I didn't know that. Smoke Signal seemed to have more energy at this gig, as compared to tunes that they had played hundreds of times before. I was there that day.
@@panhirvonen9195 I got the impression they were really unsure of Cahoots. I bloody love it. I guess endless highway is not a big song for them and they had a lot of material to cram in
James Perryman Well said! That's certainly true.
This is priceless thanks for sharing
Oh my god. The night they drove into across the great divide transition was epic accompanied by the tape warble. Almost like it was meant to be! They are my favorite of all time and thank you for posting this absolutely beautiful gem. They sound epic and truly one of a kind. Truly untouchable and moving. Goosebumps the whole time🙏
This is what happens when high school kids are entrusted with documenting performance of the greatest rock band of its era.
映画ラストワルツ以外で彼らの演奏をこれだけまとめた映像は見たことなかったです。全盛期の彼らの全貌を伝える貴重な作品だと思います。
Great jam out of Smoke Signal.
How about Ricky on that fret less Fender bass!
This is Fucking Great! Thank you!!!
What the hell IS it with you knuckle-dragging apes? The English language contains more words than any other - try using some different ones!
Somebody please remaster this.
I'm sure there's better sound, with a tape track off the soundboard. Direct mic' ing would have been very unusual back then. This stuff used to be filmed, not videotaped, back then.
3:55 I Shall Be Released.
Tell me Rick doesn't look like Springsteen on Endless Highway or really that Bruce looks like Danko
No I don't think they look alike at all. Both good looking, probably Rick from the Last Waltz better looking than Springsteen and Robbie was the best looking of them all.
