    THIS IS GOING TO SAVE MY FIRM (AND MYSELF) SO MANY HOURS OF LABOR!!!! The energy code requirements in NYC basically require something like this, but the process has been so analog at my firm for many, many years.

    Hey Thomas, just watched this and was wondering if you could let me know how do you achieve the chamfered window reveals that you have shown on the plan.

      @tg-at  14 дней назад

      Hi Malachy. Good question. I made a window family with a nested family. Instead of a wall opening in the nested family I used voids to cut the face. I also built up the timber panelling in the nested family. I actually put up a couple of short videos a while back on these windows... more of a demo though, I didn't make a "how to" video. ruclips.net/video/jFKvnqlbFrc/видео.html

      @@tg-at Thanks Thomas, thats a good looking set of windows, it just proves that after eight years using revit I still have so much more to learn. Nested familys are something that I am not familar with, it's something I will need to investigate further. Can you advise on the best approach for learning about nested families.

      @tg-at  12 дней назад

      Nested family just means family within a family. The reason you need to use a nested family for the splay in windows is because you can't have an opening cut and a void in the same family. So, basically start your window family. select and delete the wall opening cut. Next, work on making the shape you want to cut out of the wall.. with all relevant constraints. Then load that family into another window family and apply to wall. Align and lock as appropriate and link parameters. I can't think of anywhere to send you to learn it.. I'll put it on my list though

      Do you sell any of your families, hope this isn't too cheeky of a question, if so apologies.

      Yeah sometimes, usually I build them on request. I don't have them for sale anywhere online. Email me with specific needs and I'll send you a quote. thomas@tg-at.com

    Hi, your video is amazing, quite tricky for Revit give the total schedule areas, its any option to create the total area of m2? I am in several attempts trying to get the Grand totals for the Area column, using calculated Fx formulas and in schedule properties, Sorting/Grouping but I can't get the sum automatically. If you have any idea to share, would be awesome, thanksssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!

    Thank you very much that you made this video after my qustion about the scheduling. now i see that the main job is making a script in Dynamo. Unfortunatly that is not my strongest part in Revit. Could you share this script with all of us? That would be awesome! :) :)

    Thank you very much! I had a question, I'm designing a hotel and it has 5 different type of rooms in seven floors. I want to create a schedule inside a legend of each floor that shows how many of room types exist in that plan, with filled color of their rooms beside them. I know it's a noob question but I'd be happy if you can make a video about it if you haven't already.
    once again thanks a lot. there are few people like you that shared revit tutorials with out beating around the bush and go straight to the point.

      Thank you Danial. I appreciate that. I think that would be a good video to make, so I will. But, if I don't get it done in time for you then it's "Colour Schemes" you need to look into.

      @@tg-at Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it! yeah I already did the coloring part, but having different room types and room numbers at the same time in it, is a challenge for me. I'll be very happy and can't wait for your video to have a full understanding of it.

      I made that video, sorry it took so long, it's been a hectic few weeks. One thing I forgot for your scenario is the number of rooms per floor. Just filter your schedule by level for each floor (duplicate schedules). ruclips.net/video/80NzRSo8B3Q/видео.html
