    I installed the same rack and a skid plate from Bikerbitz yesterday. I'm very satisfied with both. Super EZ install.

      Aye, they seem to be decent components. I guess they’ve had a few months longer to develop products in Thailand as they had bikes to work with.

    Enjoyed your vid. Just a suggestion, it might be beneficial to give us a 360 degree view , where possible, at the completion of the install. Please don't be apologetic for providing weight details. I am very interested in this piece of information, as it will/may drive my (and I suspect a lot of other viewers) decision/s to purchase accessories. Keep up the good work...

    Very nice.
    I put the H2C rear rack on my CRF, and I like the way it looks.
    This Yamoto rear rack seems to be much more practical, though.
    Saving a half kilo is certainly a bonus.
    Thanks

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 года назад +1

      Hi, yes I think the H2C was the best one available initially, and is still very practical. Steel is tougher too for long term use. I’d been using a H2C one until now and for everything except the rear hooks for my blizzard panniers, it was great. These Yamoto alloy ones looked interesting so I thought I’d try one.

  • @wayneh8767
    @wayneh8767 3 года назад +1

    Looks really good actually, better than the other and the weight savings is a bonus for its purpose its just as strong for the application. Lots of slotted holes and anchor points there too!

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 года назад +1

      Yup, it's definitely more suitable for what I need it for and the weight saving means I'll probably leave it on the bike.

    Love this rack, but am torn between this Yamato & the SRC "Full" Rack system. As noted in comment below - this Yamoto rack is almost identical to the SRC's "top" rack/plate. My question, which is holding up my purchase, is that with either the Yamato or SRC..... I would like the option and/or flexibility to use the top plate/rack only (as is the Yamato). But to also perhaps one day be able to purchase/add (for Yamato) and also remove the "side plates" when not needed! It appears the only "purchase" option with SRC is the "Full Rack" with side plates!? I don't see an option to purchase the SRC top/side plates separately, nor does Yamato (or other company/brand) offer (yet) the option to buy/add side plates?!? With SRC it could be due to the "structural design" that they must/need to be used/installed/mounted together!?! I don't know, and am trying to figure these options or lack of out. It would be a huge advantage to have the option to add & include/remove these side plates/racks if or when necessary. I last rode in college 35 years ago and just recently purchased a 2021 Honda 300L Rally. The accessory market & options are entirely new to me, so I don't know, but whether with Yamato or SRC it would seem a "buildable rack component system" should be doable! That's what I'm trying to figure out. For example - with SRC - you can purchase & add (and also remove) the Rotopax gas can latter! If either Yamato or SRC would give the above options/flexibility - not only I, but thousands upon thousands of others riders would instantly purchase!! It appears I prefer the "soft" type luggage. But once again, I would like the option to use both soft or hard - depending on my future needs, rides, etc. The type of luggage one uses also appears to be a factor & function of the type of rack one uses!?! Perhaps I'm being obsessive, but I would prefer to not have to buy (spend/invest $$), then instal/remove several different racks & types of luggage to meet my various riding needs! Sorry for the rather long comment, but this is my current "rack" (and luggage) buying decision & delay I face. And as many know, we're not talking chump $ change here!! Again, I'm just getting back into riding & will need and appreciate any help or advice. This channel & viewer comments has been a great source of info, and is most appreciated!! Mucho Thanks!

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  2 года назад

      Obsessive is fine! We all do it about different things! Agreed that sides should be available separately. I’ve ended up going for rackless saddlebags for short trips and clip on panniers (on pannier frames) for longer trips. For day trips I have a rackless drybag which clips to the rear plastic. Good luck with your decision!

      Apologies Eddie. It’s been sold since the video. Welcome to the channel though. I had a look through IG and from this post on, most of the CRF pics have it fitted:
      instagram.com/p/CQfvlhSH0vl
      I think it’s the best rack available for looks/weight/storage. The Rally raid is better looking but I think it’s too small for a hold-all or dry bag. The H2C is great it tube is your thing but it’s heavy and not that practical as a platform. I’m now waiting for an Outback Motortek rack to use with my pannier frames. That’s the unicorn I’ve been waiting for…

    Question: Do you know if crash bars can be fitted without issues with a Bikerz Bits skid plate?Installed this same rack and skid plate (from Bikerz Bits) on my 300 Rally, and perfect fit with no issues installing. Quality parts. Hoping to get some crash bars soon, but haven’t been able to confirm if the aftermarket skid plate will prevent that. If anyone has any info, please post! Thanks!

    Thanks again for a thoughtful presentation. Is the rack compatible with the Rotopax mount system?

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  2 года назад

      I haven't tried, (RotoPax's seem to be in short supply outside the US at the moment), but I think the bracket would bolt on the top, and maybe even the left side. Assuming holes are there or can be drilled, yes, I'm sure that would work.

      When it stops raining! It’s been a crap week for weather so I’ve been working during the days and splitting the evenings between the now open cinema and watching football. I’ve a ‘film school’ day with the legend that is Austin Vince (of Mondo Enduro) on Saturday (very much needed, I’m sure you’ll agree 😉) so Sunday is currently my best bet to get it done. Not without a plate. The only one I’ve tried for a top box is the Honda OEM rack which comes with a plate to fit either the Honda box or a Givi box. (The plate is the same) if you’re in the UK, I have the Honda rack with a Honda/Givi plate that I’d sell on.
