I'm working on that one right now! I'll be published this week and as it's the same set-up as the Axion Mega Test, it makes for a really good comparison (with the only significant difference being the weather conditions).
I think it's down to the high humidity which favours a larger pixel with a bigger surface area. They're just able to capture more sensitive temperature information when there's a lot of water vapour in the air.
I missed that completely. The XL's detail of the person, their immediate surroundings, foreground and trees behind them was all noticeably better on the XLs (both out in the field and when I reviewed it back in the office) but you're right - there are are some bits of fine detail that the XLs smaller pixels couldn't pick up. It's definitely down to the high humidity and helpful to actually see where NETD (and pixel pitch) actually effect when you see. Good spot!@@yaykruser
Thank you. Fantastic comparison.
That is an awesome comparison. Great job.
Cheers... I've got more planned but if there's anything you'd like to see, drop us a message.
Awesome, I love these tests!
Can we hope for the maximum detection range (like you did with the axions) too?

Brilliant video, I am goin to buy, so this was very helpfull
The aim was to help people decide which one to choose, so I'm delighted it helped.
Do we get an updated version with the XT50 when its out? ❤
We're gonna need a bigger rig! 🦈
Interesting the XL50 didnt pick up the pylon wires.

it also doesnt pick up all the branches of the tree in the top left.
