Get the RealID. It can be used for domestic travel without using passport
License should work, They just ask for photo ID, I never been in situation where they ask for passport since last 10 years.
Yes license should work and as per our knowledge no where it’s mentioned that non resident alien should carry the passport always…
Have to check this more and confirm the details
Starting May this year they will ask for Real ID or Passport. Not all states provide RealID for immigrants. So we will need to carry our passports soon.
For the states close to Mexican border like Texas Arizona and California we have CBP checkpoints that they check to prove your legal stay .. remember these checkpoints are inside USA along the interstate I10 and I8 . They ask for i797 n passport if you’re not citizen or permanent resident

Invitation letter from your son
Son’s USA status photo copy and pay slips or bank statements
Your son’s address and the contact details

Use the wheel chair assistance while booking the flight , they will help you a lot and every process became smooth including port of entry

Indians they get cheated by agents in India, they spend 20-50 lakhs to enter USA through Mexico . Most of them won’t be aware that they will be traveling in deadly route. This is something India government could easily stop this, they shouldn’t allow people who board flights to Equador or Brazil where visa is not needed for Indian passport holders.

@@JPC. it was way back in 2011, I came for short business trip to Madison, Wisconsin. You won’t find any Indian grocery nearby and I was not driving. They didn’t trash dal or other items, only rice. Luckily there was an American grocery and they had basmathi rice. After that I started to enjoy non Indian food like American or Mexican or Mediterranean
