The unreliability of this car is seriously played up by RUclips horror stories. With good maintenance, a knowledge of the car, and money set aside for the occasional breakdown, it's an amazing car.
There is nothing with 4 doors (and hardly anything with 2!) that can replace this amazing machine. This car in black, updated tail lights, ice white angels, fully loaded and a custom exhaust is unbeatable. Perfect power, sound, features, looks, luxury and practicality make it perfect in my honest opinion. I'll never sell mine. V10 forever!
Watched few of your videos about M5 and I really enjoyed them, you surely know what you talking about. I'm planning to buy E60 just because this car has this; wolf in the sheep skin, image. Although I live in Australia and parts and labour prices are totally different than in your country, but I have learn a lot about the car and what to look for when buying. Thanks mate you have been great help, keep up great work, cheers Leslie
Nice Video, however was expecting to get some more Hands on information how to Spot a good used one especially what to watch Out for around and regarding the engine.
Mark love the channel, great stuff! Recently bought myself a black on black 2010 E60 M5 and was wondering if you still recommended a thinner oil to the 10W-60 BMW advised. Let me know what you think.
Your passion for this car is unparalleled. I suspect with the right amount funds perhaps you could get together with some engineers and work out and oiling system that would make her more reliable.
Wow... it’s like you’ve NEVER come across an auto enthusiast ever!! ..to say his “passion is unparalleled” ! All he does is go over the basic dealer known features.
You got to take into consideration that they might have chosen the thicker engine oil for the fact that the oil would most likely thin out as things heat up you know at high RPMs
Hello Mark, thank you so much, as always for your guidance....Could you please tell me the best reliable engine series of standard E60, or should I go for petrol or diesel..thanks in advance....😇😇
Morning, I am new to your channel and the M60 M5 is my fav sedan. I currently do not own one, however, if the moon and the sun align later this summer I will be looking for a 2008 model. I am definitely nervous because of the maintenance issues and costs, however, sometimes in life you have to take a chance....... Thank you for an honest review which focused on "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly," as well.... I also like Lamborghini and Porsche as well, so I am looking forward to checking out your videos........JAZZY1
E 39 source channel recently had his 2006 rod bearings done at about 85,000 miles along with Vanos and it cost 3200.00, he said the price of the E-60 DROPPED the last few years. They had theirs for sale previously, he said they are 12 grand and up.. as the reliability isn't the best and in his eyes an older BMW so I assume a 'throw away' vehicle to some His Dad just bought an F and just so you know the F takes 0-30 oil
I've got winters for it as well and choose not to drive it because it is not great. It is heavy and has traction control, but I would have another car as a daily anyway.
Very reliabld car , buy a 2009/2010 (no issues )warm the engine properly dont use the launch control do not do drifting! Change the oil and sms Often and last forever !
The side "cooling" vents aren't functional Mark, there is no hole behind them and they are solid plastic, no venting occurs or can occur. They are purely decorative. Sorry to sound pedantic but when someine gets something like that wrong, it does make me question the credibility of other starements made.
True, also revved much higher and had many other differences. Many of these changes were made so that we did not need a pit crew to start and maintain one. Good comment for sure and thanks for watching.
No four door vehicle eclipses the sound of an E60 M5 under serious acceleration. Nothing. Not even an RS6… I agwee wif my fwend in Wome, Biggus Dickus, below. I doubt I’ll sell mine, either!
LoL... we DON’T hear about “special” when it comes to the E60 M5 We hear nothing but bad things when it comes to the engineering of this car!! One word... ROD BEARINGS... It’s why they’re so cheap, cause you might as well add 10k to the purchase price, so you can repair the ticking time bombs, BEFORE they blow!
Thank you for getting straight to the point in your videos. Good solid information for people looking to buy one. Subscribed ✌🏽

Totally agree: a little maintenance goes a long ways.

Never use a thinner oil to what BMW recommend, you will not do your engine any favours!
Great great presentation Mark, thank you very much!!!!
Very welcome, hopefully it helped in some way. Are you looking at buying one ?

The most reliable would be straight six such as 525 or 530
@@ECPP Thanks for your reply 😇😇.. petrol or diesel??.. earlier I remember you had told petrol engine... 😜

I use Rotella T6 5 w 40 motor oil. In my opinion this is the best oil out there. My e46 wagon has 155,000 miles and internals look great!

Rod bearings were changed from Cooper to aluminum
"Look at ME, I'M A SHARK!!"
How does this car do in the snow? Thinking of getting one but need to able to drive when snowy
I've got winters for it as well and choose not to drive it because it is not great. It is heavy and has traction control, but I would have another car as a daily anyway.
When is the private viewing of the F90 M5 in Edmonton?
Mark is that true? That the newer models ( from 2007) M5 have a thinner coat of paint?
Very reliabld car , buy a 2009/2010 (no issues )warm the engine properly dont use the launch control do not do drifting! Change the oil and sms Often and last forever !
She is nice i'll still get one just have too take care of her get to know her need a 6 speed tho..........
That price has skyrocketed!
Hi can you do a review on the BMW 2007 523i.
How much of this transfers over the the E63 M6?
Mechancally, pretty much everything.
@@ECPP ok thank you

Haha, cheers. Have a great weekend.
This engine also came with the e64 m6
New sub and I don't even have an M5
Thanks a lot for joining. Have an awesome day.
Nice
The Formula 1 engine was completely different and displaced no more than 3.0 liters.

ExoticCar PlayPlace the v10 also came with the m6 e64
your car has only the heated seats, not ventilated seats.
So you are saying they made an E60 M5 wagon????? If so is this sucker in the states?......
I saw your camera woman! Lol
U called BMW supercar smfh since when 5 series became super costing $10k
No four door vehicle eclipses the sound of an E60 M5 under serious acceleration. Nothing. Not even an RS6… I agwee wif my fwend in Wome, Biggus Dickus, below. I doubt I’ll sell mine, either!
“Preceded” = came before....lol
I'm selling my 08 328i for one of these babies.
ExoticCar PlayPlace I love it
Howd it go?
BMW plus snow = blasphemy

do them yourself they cost $200 plus $200 for arp bolts , i did my ones its not a hard job
25000-30000cheap LOOL
Those shouldn't be driven daily to last awhile.
It's a great looking unreliable garbage lol!
Still have mine and while people are jetsoning around their EV , I will still be enjoying the screaming V10
this dude gives speeches just like Donald Trump
Standard e60 also has aluminium hood and front wings.
