- Hi friends! Thanks so much for joining me!
In this video I challenged myself to spend $20 or less on a weeks worth of Whole30 groceries! This is my first time completing any sort of budget grocery challenge...I'm not sure if I can make it happen but I'm excited to try!
3 meals a day x 7 days = 21 meals total! $20 for 21 meals. Do you think I can make it? Shop along with me at Aldi and find out!
I have 2 rules for myself during this challenge:
1. I have to stick to $20 or less. (otherwise I lose, and I don't like to lose)
2. I can only use spices and cooking oils/vinegar from my home pantry. Nothing else!
If you're new to the Whole30 you can find all the program rules and resources here: whole30.com/
See you in the next video! - Хобби
Take away, you need more than $20 per week for whole30😂
One would be hard pressed to live on 20$ for a week no matter what they eat
Thanks for this. I really enjoyed your video. I would love to see more like this.
I love the meal choices you were able to get from Aldi
Love your channel and videos...looking forward to more!😍
Loving this video taking notes 📝 I'm restarting whole30 April 3rd. Live the whiteboard for organizing your week. Awesome
So helpful, thank you!
Wow!!!! Howdie friend from MD!! Tell ur family hello!
At 350lbs this isn’t enough food for me but I like the idea it was a great amount and def add a couple more dollars for more food.
I wish we had an Aldi and a trader Joe's here! You did a great job.im taking notes 📝starting whole30 April 3rd getting my ducks in order
How’s it going
So helpful thx
Yes, it would be nice if you do.
Not my kind of diet and food but you are super nice so I will subscribe!
Thanks!
Wow you have a really big Aldi!
love your videos! I can't wait for new content when you start up again 🙂
I wish you were still making videos!
I wouldve swapped out one bag of salad for a bag of rice and can of beans, then i wouldve gotten some bananas all within the budget
Neither rice, no beans are allowed on whole food. Dash rice is obviously, a carb, and beans are a potentially inflammatory, which is what you’re checking for. Which leaves bananas… But they’re pretty discouraged because they’re high in starch and sugar.
Good job! However if you would have bought whole veggies instead of frozen ie a head of cauliflower, bag of carrots etc you would have gotten more bang for your buck. Also chicken thighs are cheaper assuming they are whole 30?
Watching this in 2022 December and eggs are $7 a dozen.
Aww the only hard part was you didn’t get any fruit! I would’ve definitely needed fruit. Next time maybe get like a fresh head of broccoli that might be cheaper and more and then fruit lol
You don't need fruit on the whole30..But you do need healthy fats.
I would be interested to know if this actually worked for you… You’re not supposed to restrict your amount of food on whole 30, that’s sort of the point of it - just the kinds of food. That’s a really small amount of calories for any adult. I’ll be very interested to know what the price difference is at Aldi for those same groceries two years later… 1.25 for eggs right now is a pipe dream!
I would have skipped the salads all together and gotten 4 more bags of broccoli lol but that's just because I find it to be more filling, my husband and I share a bag a night of frozen veggies and it keeps us full!
Broccoli would’ve been so much more nutritious… Those bags of salad have the nutritional equivalence of a big glass of water. There are cheaper and easier ways to get fiber in your diet.
I am curious if you found this to actually be enough food for you for a whole week? Did you get bored with the same meals over and over?
If you do the math it’s 750 calories a day. They aren’t living off this for a week for one person let alone 2. This is more like 4 days worth of minimum calories.
It's hard to shop cheap when you're not allowed to have rice, beans, pasta.
Not only is your name Amanda( same). But I knew you once you mentioned the dogs name.
I enjoyed your video! Maybe a few bananas😉
How many calories did it add up to?
Whole30 is not about calories. Google it. It's great for determining allergies and sensitivities.
@@Sara_The_Feral_Housewife I don’t care about allergies end of the day this is under 800 calories it’s not enough to live off. Toddlers eat more than 800 calories a day
@@Sara_The_Feral_Housewife I think you missed the point of the question… This is way too few calories, and you are not supposed to restrict a whole 30, as you pointed out. No one is concerned that it’s too many calories.
This isn’t enough food for 7 days and it’s unreasonable. This is about 5,236 calories meaning it’s about 748 calories a day. For an adult you need a minimum of 1200 and that’s if you aren’t active at all this is more like 4 days worth of food at 1,309 calories. I appreciate you trying but let’s be realistic.
I agree. Realistically, $50-$75 would have gotten her further I think. We tend to spend $10/day per person in my home.
Not whole30 if you aren't incorporating a portion of healthy fats into every meal.
