    I appreciate the video and the update recaps. I drove from Utah to Oregon and now need to change mine before I can head home. Want to come meet me in central
    Oregon to help me change mine 😂🙏🏻😏

      Glad it helped and if I didn't have to work all week I might I'm sure there's a few shops there that can do it alot faster and effectively than I could. It's quite the headache to deal with but all penstar motors sooner or later eat the rollers

    What else should i be looking for after hearing this ticking sound besides the rockers, lifters and cams? Thank you for your helpful video, I'm getting ready to tackle this project

      All the seals along the valve cover, injector connections can be brittle so be gentle with them they are little push taps after you slide out the red locking piece and they like to break.... Ummm build up of sludge if it is new to you, leaks if there are any and just look around for anything that looks off or odd

      @Blake Stish so far, so good, I just had another quick question, did you have to relearn camshaft and crankshaft positions after your repair?

    • @Blakess2
      @Blakess2  Год назад

      @@Grizzle_Uno realign or relearn the sensors? No to both as long as you have the blocks in place and do one side at a time you should be aligned properly if you take the cam out you have to make marks on it as you take it out so you know what position it is in or take a photo of the exactly spot.

    Those cams. :( I am about to do this job...parts are coming in now. Terrified and hoping the cams are still good....I shut my rig down as soon as I heard the tick and parked it in the garage...hope it is good.

      @@Blakess2 Honestly, I am more busy studying all the stuff I have to remove just to get to the problem. Seems like every video I find focuses on a different part of the "trim" The actual fix seems pretty straight forward with all the right tools...Battery Box is looking like a pretty legit nightmare to reinstall lol. I am documenting everything. This is my first major job....I have only every changed oil and spark plugs lol. If you want to drive it...learn it. Thanks for the video...I saved it and will be using it as a reference for sure.
      My favorite "How to fix the tick" video was by far suggesting to roll up the windows and turn up the radio. I laughed so good.

      @@Blakess2 You did a great job. Beer is not an option...lol. I cracked my upper intake having beer thinking I was just changing some plugs lol. Plastic? Of course it is. Of all the vehicles I have owned...the Chrysler 3.6 has so far been the hardest learning curve lol. Changing the head gasket on a slant 6 by yourself is easier (kiss my ass Uncle Craig) lmao.

      I made that mistake changing plugs...cracked my upper intake on the #1 bolt learning how to read a torque wrench and the difference in inch and foot lbs...that wasnt a cheap fix. I still recall the noise and the pain in my ass when my Wallet said "You done fucked up son" Only 7.4' lbs lol. Hard lesssons in "saving money."

    How did you move the coolant lines out of the way…they are not flexible, lol, and in the way for sure 😬

    • @Blakess2
      @Blakess2  Год назад +1

      I think I undid them and just drained them in a bucket and put all new fluids in when I was done 👍 was time to change out my coolant anyways. One of the other ones I was able to move out of the way with a bungee just so it wasn't in my way.

    Question, after all this work, any issues? How does it run? Im going to get all my parts first, and probably going to do both sides, with new cams while Im in there. Thanks for a complete run down.

    • @Blakess2
      @Blakess2  2 года назад

      No issues after I replaced it all it's been 2 oil changes since then and it's running strong! And yeah If you have the money and time I'd do both sides for sure! Cams and rocker arms 👍 and do spark plugs while your at it! Those tools are definitely a must for the job to lock the cams in place do one side at a time for sure not both at the same time take photos as you go before you disassemble and use a paint marker to line it all up!

      Still no issues 10 months after my first comment running strong!
