This show touched on that feeling of possibilities behind every hunt - something great could happen. That anticipation doubles when you go out of state somewhere looking for a giant buck. A big reason I get out of bed every morning ripping to go all fall or work on my food plots and TSI. Love the show.

It’s very much like the weak mean create hard times, hard times create strong men. In which more hunters create less opportunities meaning a less desirable experience. A less desirable experience will create less hunters meaning more opportunity for a better experience. The cycle just repeats but its definitely still peaking!

@@jasonhall7730 Im all for adults with medical issues or children using crossbows. The issue with them being legal and especially on public land for all people is that no one can argue that a crossbow even remotely requires the same level of practice, preparation, and discipline to execute a successful shot. Yet it’s considered “archery equipment” which allows more hunters to be in the woods competing for the best spots and to kill deer.

This reminds me of surfing, in the late 70’s and early 80’s the sport exploded, big corporations and money came in and changed everything while before the surfshops had a murky financial start, all of the sudden they became clothing and accessories retailers, I not saying that is the case with archery shops. But there are no secrets spots anymore, and surfing safari is to spots fully accessible with A/C ridicule. I still surf , hanckel, snappers, because I just love that “free ride” . Archery has really become more of my passion today and the challenge, and been on the woods is my church. We will see what the future will bring. I hope archery hunting continues perhaps separating archery season from crossbow would help, I don’t consider crossbow archery, any discipline where you don’t have to hold a string pressing should be limited maybe to handicap people.

I never understood why people from PA /north east drive through Ohio to get to Illinois, Iowa, Kansas ect. Good friend of mine has killed at least a 140 most years on a 30 acre Ohio lease for the better part of 25 years. His biggest is a 170. Also there are many overlooked places that hide large animals. I would say the Charleston WV area is an example. If you are a skilled hill country hunter and know how to play thermals there are opportunities to kill very respectable bucks. If WV wasn’t a two buck bait state it would be on par with Ohio…

    • @chrisruzsa2798
      @chrisruzsa2798 Год назад +2

Don’t give abled body people a hard time. Both weapons are challenging in their own way. Be a sportsman the world has enough hate hunters should stick together.
I am guilty of this very thing too. I used to hate crossbows too because i followed the crowd of clubs. After all my archery shit got stolen, i did not want to get back into as hard i picked up the crossbow. Now i have more tools and jigs than i ever needed for vertical.
And the hate makes people turn away from archery altogether.
Honestly it is the mentality of many that really confirms my decision of never wanting to get back into vertical. If you want to increase your challenge take the scope and scope rail off and put the bolt retainer arm on the trigger unit and use no sights. There is always things you can do to improve the challenge.
Even getting a recurve crossbow as opposed to a compound.
We should be really supporting each-other not tearing into each-other.
I hope you change your ways for Your sake.

@@cjr4497 hahahahahah, compounds are nothing special lets stop pretending you need decades to draw back war bow strength bows. Set your pins have your arrows tuned properly and you are good to go. We all shoot for fun we all hunt for food. At least we should hunt for food, and we should be able to get along, look i am sorry the trad guys hurt your feelings in the 80s and 90s and now you have to project your butt hurt on crossbows to feel the same way.
I shot compound i honestly do not like them and for the few advantages you get you have other tradeoffs I like trad and primitive, i like those advantages over the compound, i have no interest in the pissing competition, 45 lbs is legal to hunt if you want to risk your body drawing higher thats your call. 50lb survival recurve with 600 grain arrows will pass through everything too.
Of you want to do the macho man pissing challenges thats on you than i would recommend not using compounds because its sad in other ways hahahah. If you feel that the advantage being able to be cocked and loaded is that big and that important to you to feel that this now becomes a super weapon. Buy yourself the feneris system and attach it to your bow. It has the crossbow advantage, and now gives you a semi automatic advantage and also practically eliminates all draw effort with its roller bearings. You have a safety with it too.
And it works with compounds and primitive style bows. May even work with trad.
Now you can have all those advantages to stop your whining.

Some can be drawn to different positions for different power results such as 1/2 1/4, 3/4, full and over draw, can also have different release positions and anchor points for various affects, can be used to send arrows around obstacles such as trees to hit the target. Can have a feneris system that can keep the bow cocked and even has a magazine to hold 10-12 arrows.
Not all archers can do this because they do not practice to do it does not change that the weapon is capable of all of this and more.
Crossbow. Can be shot laying down.
Can have the advantage of being cocked and loaded depending on crossbow and if the vertical archer is not using the feneris system.
Far too many crossbow users do not practice enough with their gear and a lot of this is due to the misconception that you do not have to.
I shoot crossbow more than i ever did with vertical always testing different things to get the perfect best results. It was through learning the crossbow that i found you can not use advertised minimum weight, you must go heavier bolts to save your crossbow. Especially if you are using a recurve. But i think compound also should.
