  • Quakers joined the No Faith in War Day as part of the protests against the DSEI arms fair in September 2023.
London hosts one of the world’s largest weapons fairs, and offices of the biggest weapons companies. The global trade in weapons is a business that profits billions from hundreds of thousands of deaths every year.
No Faith in War Day saw a gathering of individuals and groups representing different faiths making their presence and call for peace known at the entrances to the fair.
The voices in this film are from the Quaker event: The Human Cost of War. You hear the Syrian peace activist Burhan Bayazid and Sudanese Civil Rights Activist Salih Kaki.
    The Human Cost of War
Refusal to fight with weapons is not surrender. We are not passive when threatened by the greedy, the cruel, the tyrant, the unjust. We will struggle to remove the causes of impasse and confrontation by every means of nonviolent resistance available.
