I think a lot of people are missing the point of the lyrics. They're meant to be wrong and messed up, because by examining the lyrics to find what's wrong about them, they point to the actual point of the song; what should you put belief in?

I love Heiman, but the lyrics were super cheesy.
It's musically a good song, but you are gravely mistaken about nature and evolution.
First of all, nature and evolution have created the human kind and the religions and dogmas which you are criticizing... (of course from an atheistic worldview)
Secondly, nature is just as vicious (if not even more) as humanity can be. There is plenty of brutality, killing of infants, rape, treason, theft etc in nature.
And thirdly, humanity IS nature. There is no humanity vs nature, we are just a part of the animal kingdom like any other living creature. If you dislike humanity, you dislike nature, there is no escaping that fact.
Daniel Heiman is great singer but again he singing in another weak song, sorry..dont enjoy lyrics, not composition..

In my opinion the lyrics show that for many centuries the "Belief" / "Belief in god" has been misused by religions for their own favor or for the favor of mighties.
If you are looking for God (Aristotles "unmoved mover") you might find him much faster if you watch or experience the world / nature directly instead of following rules of a religion.
@@peterm.4088 I only partly agree, because even in the Abrahamic religions this world is described as chaos full of evil because of the fall of man. So no, you can't find any kind of deity in nature, because it is largely a trial and error process, also known as evolution. Who is to say that the whole universe didn't pop up as a result of a larger cosmic trial and error process? That is what you find looking at nature, not a conscious deity of any kind.
God is the creator of all things... The nature speaks of her creator that is much great and powerful

This song doesn't say that there is no god. The song says that god maybe is not what religions want to let us know and for what they use his name. Maybe he is just the "unmoved mover" like Aristoteles describes him (he was ever been here, will ever be, and let life start and stop (Evolution)) and that all other things we people just don't know.
