HD are doing what Apple are doing. They can make the best all featured motorcycle but they want to make a lot of money from every ONE new feature they put in their bikes in every model. In 2020 they put an optional rider safety feature on their already expensive touring bikes. I understand that HD aren't as big as other Japanese companies, I mean they have only only one franchise to sell. So what they're doing is somewhat justified.
I just took this bike for a test ride. thinking that it would replace my Victory CCT. I went a whopping 15 miles . This bike was baking my legs . Shifting from first to second from a dead stop ran it rev limit in sport mode. I’m sorry I really wanted to like this bike, but it’s now down to two Goldwing or GrandAmerican

And...since this bike engine produces **ALL** of its max torque at only **2,700 rpm**, there is NEVER a reason to even come close to the red line rev limiter in every day operation, ...or even much to shift past 3,000 rpm. So MANY test riders...truly did NOT ride this engine/tranny as it was designed to be ridden, and shift the bike in progressive shift points when max torque had been reached at only a mere 2,700 rpm. Just wanted to point out and counter the many short 'test rider' posts about baking, and 'hitting the rev limiter'. Not ever needed to shift or climb to that rev point, ..and also...the bike actually runs cooler after about a 2,000 mile break in...as there is less friction on the rings coming out as heat from the jugs. I own and ride a 2018 SVTC, and if ridden as it should be...operated as it was designed to be...there is no heat issue...and no, needing to rev the sh*t out of the engine.
I like the goldwing but I ain't buying a bike that requires 5hrs labor to change an air filter or battery. They're unservicable. I have heard that the rev limit is low on this bike do you'll be constantly shifting. My kawasaki 1700 Nomad is jot as hell on my legs too, but for the money.. I think this bike is awesome.
I spent a recent day at my local Harley Davidson dealer with my 2018 SVTC printed feature list in hand. I compared my current 2018 SVTC ride against a 2022 CVO Road Glide Limited, which starts at $53,799 CAD, and in spending two hours there...found out that honestly, the CVO only compares out to 75-80 percent of my feature list on the 2018 SVTC. There and then, I decided that for whatever reason, I would now decide to just rebuild (if needed) any major body or engine component of my 2018 SVTC, when or if, any would be needed in extended heavy mileage accrual (over the years).

Actually, my voice would disgaree with your view. We have toured on our 2018 SVTC in July (late) down in Phoenix, Arizona with some days reaching 105 F at noon time in direct sun. Never...NEVER, did our SVTC engine miss a beat...seize...stutter, never...and with even idling at stop and go, and construction sites....so with that experience, I LOVE the fact that there is no coolant swap out..no chance of coolant to leak from a damage or rotting hose, a damaged rad...and the cost, and weight of that aboard. I have owned Goldwing's and in fact, we passed just 50 miles from Phoenix, a broken down Honda GL1800, that had blown their water pump seal...and lost all their coolant. They were stranded on the side of the desert highway in outrageous July heat...waiting for a flat bed pick up to a Honda dealer in Phoenix. We gave the couple some bottled water...and then climbed aboard our air/oil cooled V-Twin.., and carried on to our hotel in town. So...liquid cooled? Nope...not if the manufacturer properly designed the bike..to 'keep its cool, with the atmosphere of the World around you...that does NOT ever, have a chance of leaking and letting you down.... @@martinhambleton5076 High Martin! Well...if you want go go from a Sport Tour to a dedicated Heavy Tour and can not get the Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental..., then you'd do very well, and would probably be most happy aboard a current Honda GL1800, or to look for a 2017 (last year produced) 5th Gen Goldwing, that I traded in on my 2018 SVTC. I owned a 2008 GL1800, which was traded in ON the 2018 SVTC purchase, and have never looked back. The 2008 GL1800 was a great bike... and for myself and my wife's Grand Tour needs, the 2018 Yamaha SVTC even MORE, fits the bill, as a fabulous Heavy Class Grand Tour platform. They cant sell them in my area. What did they do to fix the motor and screen problems? I have a 14 Victory Vision tour with motor work that's been amazing. I am looking for something with more tech but I am not confident they corrected the early issues.
They did, there were a few released from the factory that did not have pre-lube for the cam followers. That was the hold back..and has been corrected. The Screen issues, were corrected in the first update. I own a 2018, and the only other thing so far, as across the bike, was a factory recall of the front brake light activation switch that in some cases, were sticking on...keeping the rear brake light on, and also preventing the Cruise Control System from engaging. That has also been corrected with a factory new, replacement front brake light switch...and you only needed as I did, to get your bike back to your dealer for a 45 minute RE and RE. After that...no further brake light issue staying on, and/or the Cruise not engaging. Everyone has gotten their Factory Recall letter and has made the trip to the selling dealer. Other than that...my wife and I have crossed the Continent two times since 2018, and with thousands of miles of tour...we have had not one issue, the brake light switch recall, mentioned. Post Edit (April, 2022) Yamaha has a Starter Motor Recall, out on their SVTC, (2018's) that not only them, but Kawasaki, and Suzuki, has used a 4 magnet Starter Motor that one of more of the magnets would dislodge and the starter would fail. They are replacing the OEM starter motors with a new design 5 magnet starter motor that will not dislodge the magnets, and this is free of charge. My 2018 STVC is going in for the 40 minute RE and RE of the Starter Motor in April of 2022. So other than standard software updates, the front break activation switch RECALL, and now the Stater Motor RECALL, there has been no other mechanical breakdowns or incidents over my current 4 years of owning my 2018 STVC. Again...the Starter Recall with a new updated Starter is free of charge to all owners.
Unfortunately we do not - very tough to find. We recommend speaking with the Sales Team at Motorcycle Mall to inquire when you might be able to get one.
Just one comment, and I'm sure sir, you merely mis-spoke, but at 70-75 mph in 6th at cruise, (I own a 2018), you are at around 2,400-2,800 rpm, not 2,200 rpm. Just wanted to point that out...and the SVTC LOPES at 2,400/2,800 rpm at 70-75 mph, way below the redline limiter. Max torque is reached at 2,700 rpm, so there is truly NEVER a need even when accelerating onto a freeway, to need to carry over, and shift above this bike's 2,700 rpm ....at that rpm you ARE developing the max torque of this engine...in which it was designed for and to deliver. Cheers!
They were probably trying to keep the weight of the bike down, so no liquid cooling. It weighs 965 lbs. It is the heaviest in its class. But still a great bike. I wish it was liquid-cooled as well. I own a Yamaha Royal Star and it is liquid-cooled and love that feature compared to the air-cooled bikes.
Who cares about the horse power...126 ft.lbs of torque at 2600 r.p.m is amazing. If you have not rode one then shut up about the lack of power until you know what you are talking about. The top of the line Trans cont. is on sale for $21,498 that is $5000 off the M.S.R.P. with a 5 yr warranty. Ride one and you will stop sqawking bullshit from your couch. This bike really rides nice with great control has all the options and some no other bike offers and can go over 220 miles on a tank of gas. I have gone 260 and was well above the listed 34 m.p.g. Best I ever got at 70 m.p.h is 42 m.p.g.
You really got to ride like 600 miles a month to appreciate such a machine. I’m near 60 now... Still I ride 3-4 times a week.. Longest trips along the southern gulf coast or around the airports is as much as 180 mile trip. It’s winter down here now, that means lots of rain and mud.. I used to go out in it just after the rain.. but the clean up is just to much to often. I got a 2008 Suzuki Boulevard C90T 1500cc.... It’s a rocket when I need it. I went 56 miles the other day and tracked myself.. 80-90 mph mostly... Felt so strange to cruise 55 mph after that..! I love the rush..!🤩 When I ride with others, I leave them all behind.. Even the bigger motor bikes. If you ask me.. near 1/2 those that buy bikes.. clean them, talk about them , and take small trips 2-3 times a month. My brother in law has a beautiful HD 2007 Heritage 96 inch soft tail...! I drove it more then he. He just never rides it... 3 times last year.. I got 32k miles on mine.. His has near 7k miles. Less than a 1000 miles a year, while I get over 10.000 miles per year. If your a part time rider.. your mostly scared of, what could be.. Until you just know... then your never going to be a real bike rider, where many parts and pieces help you on the long road.
@@edwardjohnson8933 your telling the truth there's alot of part time riders I think most people are working so it's hard to fine the time to ride I have a kawasaki Vulcan Voyager I tried to ride it literally every chance I get I put 2000 miles on it since June and people say you ride your motorcycle more than your car I tell them it's so much better than a car the freedom I feel and it's a stress reliever the longest trip I ever did on it was from new Hampshire to Philadelphia

I don't need, or WANT all the hardware needed to have water jackets around my cylinders. Not necessary at all. My World Atmosphere does the job, whether in the Rockies..or in the Sonoran Desert, just fine. We were visiting family in July, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona...were there were days we rode in 105F. No problems with the engine and tranny at all. None with us, sitting on top of the V-Twin. None at all...that heat hype is so overblown, and usually purported by a 15 minute Demo rider...who had no idea to check to see if the huge fairing air vents were open, or to adjust the air deflector blades to bring in cooling air. Also, it was reported that because Demo Riders were fooling around with the features and controls on the rides...and that some left the seat and back rest heaters on, after they got off and back. Such inaccurate and brand damaging 'so called' reviews, by people that had no idea, the tech upon this bike...and to their discredit, Yamaha reps did for the most part NO PREP of the riders, to tell them how to set up the bike for a Summer run..or to check between Demo rides, to make sure features you don't have running in Summer, were in fact off, or the SVTC actually SET up to Summer/warm month riding. Yamaha and their Demo Day preparations was just as guilty as a man shooting himself in the foot with his own gun...and that must be stated.
Hi Alberto - We are sorry to hear this is your opinion of us. Unfortunately when we review your name in our backend system, you've never purchased a unit from us; but you have purchased parts and completed one service with us on your Suzuki (if it is the same A. Santiago); your last purchase was in July 2018. Because of this, it is tough to agree that we are the "worst place to buy from" if you never purchased from us. We sell to thousands of units to happy customers each year and have a 4.4 Star Rating with over 1,600 reviews on Google. If you were not happy with a potential situation that occurred in the past, I'd be more than happy to speak to you. BTW the only services ( not service) I ever had done were recall services on the bikes I purchased from your company because they were repeatedly done wrong .
@@alsaint7944 - Thank you for clarifying and thank you for your business when it comes to those two motorcycles sales. Unfortunately, if we kept all of our records for 45+ years, we’d need another 100,000 sq. ft. facility to keep just the records. Plus, it is our policy - like a lot of businesses - of shredding our records after seven years. The last year of the ZX-7 was in 2003 (so we know you purchased the Kawasaki more than 15 years ago) and I’m confident that the GSX-R 750 purchase was a number of years ago as well if you’re not in our system. We respect your choice not to shop at Motorcycle Mall and wish you the best with whomever you may choose to, but we know the top-notch customer service we provide, the outstanding service our factory trained technicians do and the hard work of all our employees - I think being in business for 45+ years speaks to that. If you had a problem in the past, I apologize for that (with me not knowing the actual situation which I invited you to contact me directly - which you have not yet). So, if you don’t want to contact me directly, but rather continue to try and smear us, it looks like you’d much rather try and make us look bad on social media rather than resolve the situation. BTW I don't need to contact you in any way to resolve issues that at the time you didn't want to resolve and as for continuing this so called smear campaign again your that one that has to keep attempting to make me look bad when I stated how I felt about my experience(great way to show us all that) . Again, to clarify, your opinion is one of a past customer commenting/rating us in 2019 on an old purchasing experience that occurred over 7+ years ago. Is it fair to rate a restaurant in 2019 on their food and customer service if you ate there 7+ years ago? Maybe you think so; unfortunately, we respectfully disagree. If you wanted to leave a comment that you purchased from us, I’d recommend you let everyone know how long ago it was. Good companies - especially in this small industry like motorcycles and powersports - will evolve and continue to evolve, becoming much better in all aspects of their business; especially improving their customer service. This is another key reason why people rate Motorcycle Mall at 4.4 stars on Google from their recent purchasing experiences with us. I called it a smear because you made the choice to view a Motorcycle Mall video (Yamaha Star Venture) on our RUclips channel and choose to not comment on actual video content (bike, review of the bike by the Salesman, etc.), but to make a blanket statement that we’re the worst place to purchase from (from your experience 7+ years ago). I’m sorry for initially saying you’ve never purchased, but we cannot keep every record - especially from that many years ago. If you purchased recently, it would be in our computer system. Please note, I did mention that we are sorry if you had a bad experience (again not knowing what actually occurred and the facts), but we’ve been in business for over 45+ years because we care about our customers and their experiences, so we address our mistakes (which we do make) and improve on them to make us a better company in 2019, 2020 and beyond. We respectfully disagree with your opinion that a long-standing business can give bad service, a place that no-one wants to do business with them and that kind of business will actually stay in business; especially now with the thousands/millions of people on the internet and social media that have an opinion. If we were the worst place to purchase a motorcycle from, we’d wouldn’t be in business; period. No one is continuing to “rant;” we’re just stating facts and letting our customers know who we are today and who we will continue to be in the future for our loyal and passionate motorcycle and powersports customers. We love hearing from our customers and we enjoying speaking with each and every one - especially the ones that had a bad experience so we can make it right and try to not make the same mistake(s) again. We live for this sport and truly love our customers - they are family to us and we care about each and every customer who is looking to make our small sport a much stronger industry with positive comments VS. trying to make it weaker with negative comments.
Do you have any new inventory of SVTC?
Cheers!
Why vtwin ?? Not 6 ?? Trying to get that Harley sound which is unic Yeap ...
nice thaks
If it was liquid cooled it would be perfect .
liquid-cooled and shaft driven would be perfect.
WOW !! 😲
Essa moto tem tecnologia que nem os ets tem
amazing!!!!
Most dealers in my area cant sell them. They have allot of damage control to take care of.
4:46 it has a reverse!
Yes!
And we still don’t know the definition of the word review.
Dam ... Heat in the winter , no air in your face in the summer , and a reverse geer , why not just drive a car ?
The stereo isn't as nice in my car.
You're obviously not a motorcyclist who likes to tour.
I love the rush..!🤩
When I ride with others, I leave them all behind..

Water cooled 1200cc engine is all you should need....bit over done

Worst place to buy a bike from .
If so, please feel free to reach out to me at Rich@MotorcycleMall.com or at (973) 751-4545. Thank you, Rich Gonnello GM Motorcycle Mall
@@MotorcycleMallBelleville actually yes I have purchased new motocycles from you in the past( twice) actually zx7 and gsxr 750 .. I still have my old records. Sadly it seems your place keeps poor records as well and to insinuate I never purchased a motorcycle from your business is even worse. Goes to show they don't remember their customers.
If that is the case, I'm sure people could clearly see what your true motive is VS. what type of company we are and the service we provide. As I said before, feel free to reach out to me at Rich@MotorcycleMall.com or at (973) 751-4545. Thank you, Rich Gonnello GM Motorcycle Mall.
@@MotorcycleMallBelleville I'm entitled to my opinion just like anyone else,as for smearing ,didn't you attempt to do that to me when you attempted to say I never purchased a vehicle from your company? Again proves my point, rather than just say sorry you continud with some rant...any how a place can be in business for years yet still have poor service does that make them better than the rest nope because some places have fantastic service yet don't last. BTW I don't need to contact you in any way to resolve issues that at the time you didn't want to resolve and as for continuing this so called smear campaign again your that one that has to keep attempting to make me look bad when I stated how I felt about my experience(great way to show us all that) . Lastly if you don't want to hear how others feel turn off the comment area .
@@alsaint7944 - you are entitled to your opinion and we can appreciate that, just like I'm sure you can appreciate that we will always voice our opinion to same type of people that want to leave comments (especially negative ones) on Motorcycle Mall’s RUclips’s page which if for our customers who genuinely “Like” and “Follow” our page for informative videos and good content. Since you don’t want to connect with us, we wish you the best dealing with the other dealership(s) you are loyal to. Thank you, Rich Gonnello GM Motorcycle Mall
