When you call "Marker," do so whenever possible with an establishing time rhythm so the editor can auditorialy anticipate the clap and stop on a dime as the sticks close. "Marker" (1, 2, 3... count) and clap sticks WITHOUT moving the whole slate and bluring the image for the editor.
