I thought this was *excellent.* The lighting and camerawork are near on par and seemed very natural. The story is believable and the soundtrack is very nice! The dialog is clear and understandable, I love the story, and the acting is fantastic! I even like "the monster." All in all, this *turned out really good, especially given your budget!* I was completely entertained and did not, but once, think about anything other than what you had intended the audience to see - like many mistakes in some productions that take you outside the story, even for a brief moment - removing you from being a witness to the story and into being critic. There are things that can remind a viewer that there are cameras and a crew there, that it's not real - whether because of bad acting, camera work, editing...or special effects, there things that remind you that you are just watching a movie/story, rather than just being 100% immersed in it. I was well, maybe 98% immersed - the blood and gore scene was not quite right; it did not seem to flow as well as the rest of the story and effects, and was the only real distraction for me. @15:44 The blood spray was just off, for some reason looking more like someone threw a bucket of blood and gore onto the wall, rather than it spraying/splattering from the attack. Do a little more work/research on real blood pattern/splatter and spray, for your next bloodbath - I think it's almost all in the "launching" technique. Haha! Over-all - A huge *Thumb's Up* here... * Maybe 8.5 of 10. I really liked The Cold Dark!*
I agree. Still maybe a few will make community. United we stand. Divided we fall. The creatures remind me of something else that would probably be unleashed by the Fauci types of the medical communities. Nothing that kind of people create ever turns out well.
At least this is an adequate description of how the world really works. None of those Hollywood fantasies, no "the good will prevail" crap. In the end it's those without scruples who'll survive. The ones who walk over dead bodies. 🤷🏽♂️
This is probably one of the best ones I've seen. The cinematography and lightning was so on point. You had an actual story and the actors were great. That one guy reminds me Pablo Pascal. He has an awesome voice and look. Lastly, I didn't see one damn gas mask... Lol. Great work.
Not a very maneuverable rifle for this timing, Lee Enfield in .303 caliber I believe. Not a universal caliber for the apocalypse, but it's better than nothing. Very good and accurate.
Love the concept! The aliens were way cool and made the movie super creepy. Special effects were very well done. Definitely left me wanting to see more and learn more about the lore of this post apocalyptic future.
I really enjoy that, they probably won't have survived those 2 men if they hadn't been so consumed with revenge that was their downfall. I mean the woman said she was sorry. In an Apocalyptic types world you should understand people are trying to survive
This is one of the few realistic post Apocalypse films I've seen to date. The people 'looked' like they'd really spent lots of time with no showers, clean clothes, etc. Only thing made no sense was the separation of the stockpile and home base of the two men? You just don't leave things laying around like that in a hostile environment. Otherwise, liked how it showed the ever present line between making it, and sudden death. The line between is sharp.,
Nearly pitch-perfect post-apo storytelling and cinematography. I agree with Mobile Filmmaking about the quality of the lighting and the absence of overused post-apo props like gas masks. (To that list I would add AR-15's, faded pictures of loved ones, maps with black X marks, and graffiti-covered buildings.) Juha-Pekk Mikkola's acting was terrific. Tony died too soon! I'd love to see that character in something else. Wardrobe and sets were spot-on. On the negative side, Wolff's odd mixture of makeup, which featured black smudges over a smooth, recently applied base, occasionally made me lose immersion during her close-ups. In terms of storytelling, I think you made the right choice to ignore the seemingly obvious potential for sexual assault. The consciously unacknowledged presence of that elephant in the room heightened sexual tension until it was resolved at the story's climax without ever becoming an observable plot element. Pretty cool decision on the director's part.
At first I wondered why the blond woman used an old Lee-Enfield SMLE rifle with a .303-British chambering. Then I heard a bunch of British, Scottish and Irish accents. The Lee-Enfield is a fantastic rifle. But using a bolt action rifle in a modern situation with multiple targets. You got a recipe for disaster.
A story told countless times in the history of the planet. Eat or be eaten. Kill or be killed. Survival of the fittest and all. This was well done. Enjoyed it.
i didnt even realize this was in finland! the actorsenglish didnt have a noticableaccent until at the very end when the woman was talking to her dad. good film!
Great vid.. Succinct. Good story line.. Good acting. Cinematography reminded me of 80/90's era sci-fi. The only thing I could pick on, and this is true with 90% of these postpoc vids, is homegirl's carry suggests she's not spent much time afield. Besides that lil nit, it was a nice break from the Mad Maxx, gas masks and other assorted greasy kid's stuff that's common fare in this genre.. A-tip-o-the-hat-to-the-lotta-ya. d:^)
This is the difference between liberal and conservative personalities . The Liberal minded types tend to believe that it doesn't matter who didn't prepare. We all should share. Those who have should give to those who don't have. The conservative types believe it is *everyones* responsibility to prepare for the worst and one should have a choice whether they want to share or not. One position comes from a place of equal distribution and entitlement (the have nots are entitled to the resources of the haves) in the name of moral superiority. The other position comes from a place of responsibility, accountability, and free choice.
History says that we don't. You can look into any disaster, whether natural like a hurricane or manmade like the Siege of Leningrad, and most people co-operate. That's why there are still people alive even in utterly lawless places like Somalia after more than three decades of civil war. But there's certainly theft, and accidents can happen, and people get carried away. So this story was much, much more realistic than most postapocalyptic stories.
Awesome best acting for a short film enjoyed it very much suspenseful as hell it would be nice if they all got along be nice if we all got along. Putin is evil he's what's wrong and people like him on this one 🌎

Thanks a lot! It actually is just a bucket of "blood" thrown on a completely different wall, a couple of months after the actual shoot.
So sad but so true... Even if some of us survive the apocalypse, if the monsters don't kill survivors - we'll kill each other :'(

American fantasy. Doesn't represent how people have responded to disasters in history, both natural and man-made.
I have heard lightning in the winter in Finland. It sounds much louder, and it makes a sharper crack sound. It takes your breath away.
I really like the vfx and at the start the bullet shot in the left shoulder looks very nice 👍
Thanks!
reminfs me of that 70's series with anne heche in it.
also the series, Us.
That was well done! Please let me know if you make any other post-apocalyptic videos. And thank you for this one!

In that world there is no understanding, if someone else has something you want and you can take it then do so, being nice will just get you killed!

Hey! Thanks for watching and commenting :)
It's a thin line...between love and hate
Actually the line between love and hate is neither sharp nor thin it's blurred!

Hey thanks for the watch and critique!

Excellent ❤
What an amazing film... You did great... Well done... A fan here...
Thanks!!!
The bad guy/girl wins. No one to cheer for except the dead.
No winners, no morality.
And no sympathy for anyone.
damn this was excellent.
Thanks!!
Kill or be killed, but be quick. Acting is good. The story revolves around the past.
EXCELLENT!
I thought the mutants would kill them all.
That would be both tragic and logical...
So what's the point of fighting then?
Humanity's greatest enemy is itself, no matter what goes bump in the night.
A Mikko monster... Nice!
Heyyy!
that was brutal and intense ...well done xx
Thaanks Allison!

Yep, course she survives bc she's the main character imo, sad.

I kind of like Putin. Open your eyes and see our government putting poison in the air and food. Hell bent on taking our guns
Spot that blonde hair a mile away walking around
She was holding a lee Enfeild 303. It's like getting an actual kick in the Shoulder when you fire one.
Yes, guns usually have recoil.
And the rifle sling is attached to the stacking swivel.
Ah the usual self proclaimed weapons experts are ready to share their 'knowledge' whether it's asked for or not!
What is that flickering BS at the bottom. It literally, hurts my eyes.
Very distracting.
Love the movie…. But enough of a female overpowering men or being able to withstand multiple punches to the face and stomach. Ruined it for me.
A couple of punches from an older man will not kill anyone, stop being so fucking insecure.
😂
shit story
Great scenes,footage and costumes.
Overall 10/10 if the story wasn't shit.
to much attention, to light a shade, cut the hair, see you a mile away
