Best game of bloody knuckles in a while, especially on the battery side. This time around I went the long route with Faaaarrrrrr less cussing,: removed the bumper cover and headlight assemblies to easily access the HID bulbs. Took longer but left me more relaxed afterwards, vs.... - assuming strange poses in the driveway to get three fingers of one hand to fit into that tiny area at just the right angle to unplug, twist, remove, insert, re-align, twist, replug, and then to top it off...getting that dang rubber cone weaseled into place and sealing the rim properly. First time took me dangerously close to a ball bat.... This time I did not need a cigarette to relax afterwards.....lol.
Really curious about the whole on and off setting of headlights. Maybe you can do a quick video about that. Not being able to use that switch really annoys me
Great video. As far as Daylight Driving Lights, my 9-5 and 9000 had this and they never ate bulbs like my 9-3. Not sure why that is. Shoot, even on my 900's, I always had the lights on, but they didn't eat bulbs. ???
When the car was made it was required by law in Sweden to have your headlights on at all time. So that's why the 0 and low beam is the same. At this day when the fucking EU went in and banned that law, people in Sweden are still having their settings on 0 and is driving around at dusk, dawn or night with with only the Day Running Lights on. This law was made fun of in Europe and the world but it was a Law for a reason. People are fucking stupid. It should be a world wide law that head lights should always be on! Just in case. Love the clips, keep up the good works! :D
my right lowbeam light only work before then have check done after that then are dead but the bolb are not borken what shuld a do? on my saab 9-3 year 2003 sport sedan vecktor
I am about to replace the bulbs in my Mom's SAAB 9-3. The car has 113k miles and they are the original bulbs from 2007. I've never had a headlight bulb go out in less than 10 years or 100k miles.
Do you know why sometimes it gives you warning when a light is out and sometimes it won't tell you? Both my fog lights are out but the dashboard isnt telling me like it usually does.
Insert 32MB card into Tech2 Run Tech2 diagnostic tool Go to Diagnostic Mode Select Diag >2003 >9-3 Sport Select Body>Exterior Lighting and Horn Low beam adjustments F0. Auto Low Beam also in Pos 0 Change setting to NO Wait several seconds until the lights flicker and go out Exit Go to Fog Lights Front Change to Position 1 & 2 ROW (Rest of World) Program and click Exit when finished. After the programming, you will get: Pos 0 > No Lights Pos1 > Fogs and 5 Watt Headlamp / Parking Light Pos3 > Low Beam, High Beam, Manual Control of Fogs This process takes about 5 minutes. You can also turn the lights on following this process.
I added the same lights but when I turn off the car the lights blink for 8 secs, how do you program it so i can use the switch currently it’s always on , I guess what’s a tech2?
Must be bad lightbulbs if you need to replace them so often. I have hade the same car for many years (but now i have a 9-3 aero xvd V6 -´11) and here in sweden we always have to have low beam on. The bulbs usually last for years. I think i usually buy Osram bulbs.
These epsilon platform cars are all a pain in the ass to change headlights. The G6 gives you no room, and on the Malibu you have to take the bumper off
@@AutoAutopsy Hmmmm.....I just tried installing the Sylvania H7s on my 2008 9-3 and after playing around way too long, found that the H7 is for HIGH beam. The H11 (totally different design) is for the low beams.
BTW erverybody. After you changed your bulb. Make sure it is correctly installed. Put the car against a wall and if the light projection is like this: ______/ ______/ You've made a correct switch. If it shown like this: ______/ XXXXX it's not a correct switch. Just a tip from a car safety technician from a Swedish MOT test facility. If you play GTA5 you can do the same with a car in the game too see what i mean =)

What are the odds. Was about to change my headlights today and great to see a video of it from you. Love from Sweden!

Nice Job! Informative, straight to the project. And a great tip on the headlight switch. The lights on all the time, is a nuisance. Thanks!
happy to help

replaced the bulb, still wont light. any tips?
If I DO have an 07 Aero what bulbs do you recommend using? My passenger side low beam is really dim.
HIDs

I tried exactly this and i cant make the new light fit at all. I can't twist it back in -.-
My car still shows the light is broken into messege why is that? How do I reset it?

I think they are making them shittier than they used to. Seems like less and less time between new bulbs.
Do you know why sometimes it gives you warning when a light is out and sometimes it won't tell you? Both my fog lights are out but the dashboard isnt telling me like it usually does.
I think it's because you have to manually turn on the foglights
Thanks for the video! Do the high beams use the same kind of bulb?
High beams in my 9-3 are different. Xenon with an igniter
what’s the setting to actually turn off the headlights with the switch on the tech 2?
I’m not 100% certain, sorry
Insert 32MB card into Tech2
Run Tech2 diagnostic tool
Go to Diagnostic Mode
Select Diag >2003 >9-3 Sport Select Body>Exterior Lighting and Horn
