Memphis made a mistake. Although Houston needs more power and physicality that only Adams can bring.

Stone has done more to make Cleveland Cavaliers a playoff team than he has for the Rockets. Trading them Jarrett Allen who became an All Star and passing on Mobley for low IQ Jalen. Probably Stone did not notice how clueless Jalen is. They are on the same wave length.

OK, I thought that I would grade Rafael Stone as a GM by grading the current players and his major trades...First of all, this is definitely his team now as all the players have came under him. Second, you have to take in count that Westbrook and Harden forced the rebuild along with Daryl Morey's poor handling of the Rockets' assets and player personal moves. Rafael Stone had to completely remake the Rockets and to this date here is his roster graded by me with draft assets before and after:
Draft assets before: Daryl Morey had traded away 4 of the next 7 years of first rounders (2021-2027) (2021 swap, 2024, 2025 swap, 2026) but he had top 4 protection on three years and top 10 protection on 2025. This was a very big factor in choosing to strip the team down completely and save some of those 1st round picks, which resulted in Jalen Green. Then with 2 years of (what everyone calls tanking...I call rebuilding) they got Jabari Smith Jr. and Amen Thompson...A very smart move to begin with for Stone and the Rockets. (I am not counting 2nd rounders even though they have value).
    A+ Alperen Sengun C

@@garybankston9319 Well Gary, but maybe you don't understand what I was doing. I graded Stone on the quality of the draft picks and the way they are playing for the Rockets as young NBA talent during a ongoing rebuild. As far as the veterans FAs on what they have brought to the Rockets' rebuild this season. If you can't see the success in his 3 seasons of rebuilding compared to other NBA rebuild throughout NBA history...then you are blind. Stone has the Rockets way above the rebuilding average grade.
Want Proof? Here are this season's bottom three teams plus comparing them to the Rockets' last 6 seasons.

@@NOJSIP Damn Dude. You sure wrote a whole bunch of stupid shit. I guess if you write a lot it makes you look smart like you know something. You didn't even include Olajuwon as a best pick. Why didn't you include Stones free agent signings like Daniel Theis, David Nwaba, Christian Wood. Jock Landale. Offering Oladipo a huge contract. Trading for Wall and paying him 47 million to sit at home. You're only fooling yourself that Stone is a good GM. Please don't bother to reply. I'm not interested in your opinion.

@@garybankston9319 Damn Gary...a hit and run...LMAO at your stupid sh*t. You crap out no facts and you complain that I say a lot (backed up with facts). You are so lame, so is your hit and run bs. BTW, I can care less what you are interested in...I comment as I please and this one is to further make my case about all you Stone bashers...including Frank.
Olajuwon had nothing to do with my Stone comments, but he is counted as one of the five HOFs of the of the Houston Rockets 1st round picks...I guess that you can't squeeze two brain cells together to figure that one out.
I didn't grade all his trades (but I sure know them all) and I said (read it to understand) I was grading the current roster and his major trades and they are the Westbrook and Harden deals that began the whole rebuild. I included Stone's Josh Christopher for Dillon Brooks (via sign-and-trade) and the Ty Ty Washington and Usman Garuba for the draft rights to Alpha Kaba, because Frank kept saying that Stone wasted those 3 - 1st rounders on poor talent and got nothing in return for them...NEWS FLASH Dillon Brooks is one of their best starters and team leader and I would have traded all 3 of those players for him. Those picks were traded making them not wasted assets period. But I guess you're not interested in learning truths.
You complained that I didn't include his free agent signings like Daniel Theis, David Nwaba, Christian Wood (fact: via sign and trade) and Jock Landale. I did Landale because he is the only one you listed that is on the roster...again you need to read the beginning, but I guess that also takes TWO many brain cells. So okay I will grade them:
      D Daniel Theis

    • @NOJSIP
      @NOJSIP 11 месяцев назад

Landale was plan C or D. Stone tried to get Brook Lopez and was looking at other centers but none of them panned out, so he signed Landale as a stopgap at $8M per year. Stone had to meet the minimum cap requirements of the NBA and that did the trick. He is using him just like he did with John Wall, but he also sighed him to 3 more non guaranteed years for the same purpose, which makes that signing more valuable to the Rockets and for other teams that may need the same plus he can be used to match salaries in future trades. Now that Stone got Steven Adams for next year it will be interesting how he handles Landale.

He looks tired, but to be honestly he is not a good GM.
Harden trade, CW trade, EG trade, Allen Trade, Oladipo Trade, Levert Trade.
drafted Usman, Tyty, Josh and trade them for air and gave up a few 2nd rounds.
He completly ignored mobley, who would be multiple year all star
what he has done good is drafted shengun, had good luck for eason and witmore.
he should've check ivey and sharden sharp as well but he didn't.
He benched John for 2 years for KPJ. and trade KPJ immediatly without knowing the full details.
KPJ is the best guard for this rocket
When we talk about draft we should always check the basketball IQ, Jalen is not an all star level IQ player, he has the chance to be a good starter and six man, but not all star level.
We need backup center and shooter but he did nothing, we don't need tate any more, we have a bunch of similar players that duplicate the role of tate provide to the team.
Get KPJ back, put jalen into the bench, find a backup center and a shooter
Keep these 2nd rounds, they are valuable enough to get qulity players like rui hachimura.
But honestly, it's better not to trade if Rafael is our GM since we always be the loser in these trade talks

      You sound like Frank's parrot.
I could pick your comment to pieces. But your KPJ thoughts are Fin' Nutz. This is not the first time he has uncontrolled anger issues and if you want a woman beater on your team to create ugly distractions then you have NO idea how to GM at NBA team. BTW, the full details now include his agreeing to a plea agreement of third-degree reckless assault and second-degree harassment in the domestic violence case. So far NO team wants him...His plea deal was on January 23, 2024 and he still has NO NBA contract. Stone cut out that cancer immediately by barring him from having any interaction with the team (this was before the season) so he can't disrupt the team...sometimes you got to have the balls to take a lost to protect what you have. Perfect call by Stone. Hey, I was a great supporter of KPJ's game and of him becoming their PG. Stone got two second rounders that he used along with another 2nd rounder and Victor Oladipo to get Steven Adams as next years backup center (which was one of you complaints of Stone). This is good (as long as Adams can play next season)...He can give them the toughness on the frontline that they need and Oladipo (no big lost) has been injured a lot over his career, plus no first round picks were involved...Adams will have one year at 12.6m...a cheap contract and they are not locked into him long term if he doesn't fit the team or they find someone better...another great deal by Stone. If the Rockets end up around the 8th pick this draft I would like them to take either
