Story 1: She did what she did because she believed there were no cameras. This is why you always, ALWAYS press charges. Because if you don't, they WILL do it again... only they will do a better job of checking for cameras. Only when they are slammed down hard and/or do jail time and now there is a record of showing that they have a history of doing this, will they even begin to learn to reign it in. Karens like to be believed. With a record showing that they do this, they won't be, so they will have to because they realize they won't win.

Story One: Wow, she actually had the cards she was bluffing about, but even they turned on her! That's hilarious! I feel so bad for her daughter though, seemed like a nice and reasonable kid, unlike her mother. Hope the dad/stepdad is treating her right to compensate for the atrocious behavior the mother exhibited. Because dang, I can only imagine how that must have felt for the kid. Definitely not a jerk, the OP did everything right.

@@toxicwifi65 This didn't happen. But I can explain to you the charges. Class C misdemeanor is up to a 500 dollar fine. A class B misdemeanor is up to 180 days in jail and or a fine not to exceed 2k. A class A is 1 year in jail and up to 4k in fine. After that it's felonies that carry a maximum of 10k fine with certain amounts of prison terms. But all except capital felony are 10k fines. What she did was maybe considered theft or robery (if she made bodily harm to a victim by hitting him with her purse) it is a theft if she just didn't cause injury. If it's theft then there is a punishment scale. If the item is 100 ollars or less then it's a class C. Which I am assuming that set wasn't that much. If it was then she is looking at a class B. Which I'd theft of an item between 100 and 750. So we are looking at this charge. Which again I said the charge was around 1k. As for assault then there is a separate charge. The mall security would keep her there until the police arrived. The court system would set the charges and the amount. The police arrest people on the charges they do not set punishments. They also do not call the victims to tell them what was charged. The courts handle all that. This kid would had to go to court.

100% agree. Also the question is why did she feel paranoid or do it to begin with? She makes him sound good like he's done nothing wrong but this is apparently the first time she's done this in 5 years? If there is literally nothing he's done she probably needs to loom internally to figure out why she's so paranoid. Another thing she can do is to look around the date tinder was installed to see if she has similar emails at that time? It's weird in general honestly.

story 3: so OP was feeling insecure and instead of talking about that with anyone, like their husband or even a friend, they decided to go behind their husband's back and snoop around like a creep? then on top of that they have a valid reason as to why the husband may have gotten the e-mail/re-downloaded tinder and got worked up about it still... what is the problem people have with just having a conversation, like imo OP seems to have gone out of their way to create drama in their relationship when all of this could've been avoided very simply by using their words.

The story #4 OP has a toxic friend in Mary. - - The nonsense about having that happen to her and that she does this to everyone to test them? - That's an excuse for manipulation and toxic behavior and it is an additional attempt at manipulation; trying to elicit sympathy and understanding and even guilt for calling her out!
If this is habitual behavior, it won't get better. But even if it isn't her habit, she's no friend and not likely to become one.

The wife that found the Tinder verification email should probably actually start the conversation by admitting that she was feeling insecure & went through his phone. She can bring it up, they can discuss it, & once that’s dealt with, she can then *calmly* say that she had seen something that had left her with some questions.
Her husband will likely say “Okay, whats up?” And she can very calmly say what she found, & that it had just understandably worried her a little.
If she does this & the husband blows up on her, then that’s a red flag. He can be unhappy that she went through his phone/email. But actually freaking out about it could mean that something actually is or was going on. (Not a 100% guarantee of cheating. But it’s a pretty good measuring stick.)

Typically, shopping mall CCTV systems don't record audio because of the noise level inside the mall (muzak, people talking & yelling, equipment noises, etc.). Also, CCTV cameras are usually enclosed in a dome casing to protect the camera from damage & to prevent people from seeing what direction the camera is pointing in. And as a final note, CCTV footage is rarely ever given to just anyone who asks for it (this includes those involved directly in an incident to prevent footage being taken out of context). The only people who can request & obtain CCTV footage is law enforcement, and there is always a procedure they need to go through in order to obtain the footage. I've worked security for more than 30 years, and mall security for 8 of those years, so I'm well versed in CCTV procedures.

It sounds to me like the Karin story at the start was just the latest escalation that the crazy lady's husband was having to deal with just because of his money and probably saw that OP as a huge ally and an excuse to discipline his wife for her insanity.
And for the OP on the wine toss story, just look up the RUclipsrs Wolfychu and Emirichu, as they're both confessed and complete clutzes, like they both randomly trip over their own feet while just walking normally, or lose track of their elbows and smack random vases off their display stands while turning to look at or talk to other people at a house party.

Story 1 The OP could have just told or asked Karen to order the set online or asked the employees if they have another in the back of the store. Lego stores typically have more sets in the back and have 5 - 6 on the shelves. so if you ever encounter something like this either record or use common sense to find a way to deal with it peacefully. He also could have shown the receipt.

Story 1 is actually something that I can relate to but not as severe. I'm currently a 20 year old doll collector who mainly collect fashion dolls like Rainbow High & the Barbie movie dolls. Obviously I buy alot of dolls & I allocate a certain amount of money towards this, which is something that many people think is ridiculous becouse "they are for kids". I'm glad he didn't back down as Lego sets cost upwards of £40+ but if he gave it to her she won't give him compensation so he shouldn't feel the need to give her his purchase

For the first story I felt sorry for the kid because the kid wasn’t the stereotypical spoiled brat you’d expect a Karen to have and instead she was actually showing logic which gave me the impression that she might have been mistreated at home. As for the Karen she got everything she deserved

For the first story, if I was in that situation, I would’ve just taken off with the set. If someone’s is angry with you, you shouldn’t be angry with them back, even if they’re really being unfair and treating you poorly. Just live and let live

Story 1: Entitled Karen attempts to rob you of your Legos that you just bought because you're "too old" and then tries to get you in trouble for not doing it, I think it's really obvious who the jerk is (even if her punishment was harsh). I honestly don't know the guy questioned himself.

NTA: Perhaps Karen finally learned a lesson to to act so entitled just because she was married to someone who was well-connected and had money. Although I'm certain that the fact that her husband didn't do anything to remediate her bail probably didn't taste good either in her mind. And to the gal who has the friend named "Mary"...if she's gaslighting you then lose her. She's not really your best friend. She's just looking for someone to find fault with so she can feel good about herself.

Where does OP love where the person is looked for, found, arrested, processed, arraigned and then goes to court all without the cops or ADA contacting you or asking
You to testify and processes her sentence in a few days.
