Veni Sancte Spiritus (Come Holy Spirit) is a sacred composition for choir, small duets, and orchestra. Mozart composed it in 1768 at the young age of 12. The text is an invocation to God and is intended to be used during the offertory during the Mass.
The piece is in two sections with the first section using the Latin text of the invocation. The second section suddenly switches to a presto tempo with the lyric of Alleluia. The Alleluia section is often performed on its own.
