- This week’s vlog is full of progress, home updates, and a bit of time out in London. It’s been a busy one, but in the best way and I'm feeling super satisfied! Coco started the Lucinda Green X Country Academy riding course, which has been such a nostalgic experience for me, taking me right back to my childhood. Coco’s really benefiting from it too, and it’s lovely to have Lucinda’s voice guiding us through it.
On the home front, we’ve made great strides with the barn, which is finally coming together and ready for future gatherings. I also give you a little peek into the ongoing renovation projects, including our tile dilemma for the kitchen-something I’d love your advice on!
I also headed up to London this week, squeezing in some time at the Daisy Trust Christmas fair and catching up with friends. There’s a spot of fashion thrown in too, as I talk through some autumn wardrobe pieces and share a few bits I’ve picked up along the way.
Watch along now for everything from house projects to London outings and everything in between, and do let me know what you think of the tiles!
Love, Charlie x

The cream is a great option and add pops of the pink. If ever you change your mind or even as the seasons change you can switch out the pink accents for another color. Cream and green are a great base for a lot of beautiful color schemes.
Thank you good point xx
I'm just loving your new home. So cozy and inviting and the kitchen is really coming together. That cream cardigan though!! What a find! Love it. 🥰
Such a great find xxx
Ha! Love Simon with casual athlete towel round neck😂
Isn’t he hilarious! His sporty look x
Hi Charlie, just reading and enjoying all the comments and then I noticed your numbers. As I type you have about 4.5k views but only 250 likes! Why? I cannot understand why people don’t hit the like button! After all, what’s not to like! You deserve many, many more! - come on guys, HIT THAT ‘LIKE’ BUTTON!! ❤❤❤❤
Thanks so very much for your support I really appreciate it xxx
Hi Charlie, I do like the pale pink and cream tiles in the checkered board above the stove and cream around the border and the lovely cream and pink curtains, awesome ideas you have, the bath tile is quite lovely too, enjoy!! Blessings from Tennessee ❤
@@laduke4324 thanks so much xxx
Agree with Si, love the pale pink. Pink will look gorgeous with the green! So happy you’re getting close to the finish line and you’re starting to enjoy the rewards ❤❤❤❤
Hi Charlie, I’m with Si & think the pink tiles behind the aga & cream around the rest of the kitchen, would look lovely. I have cream tiles, with pink ones dotted around my kitchen, but I don’t have a gorgeous aga like you. So look forward to your vlogs each week!xx🥰
It's looking so nice...I think cream would be classic and if you ever wanted to change the to another color, it would work well. Can't wait to see it all when you have it the way you want it!
I think so too! Keep it simple x
Chequerboard pink and cream behind the Aga and then cream around the worktops gets my vote Charlie! Enjoy having the boys home & have a super weekend x
My preference would be a cream splash back with accents of pink and cream soft furnishings. Thanks for another lovely vlog. X
I think that the fabric with the Lily of the Valley pattern and the checkerboard pale pink and cream tiles would be absolutely dreamy fairy tale cottagey kitchen style, but am looking forward to seeing your final choices. Best of luck!
Yes that was my thought too 😊
It’s all coming together and looking lovely Charlie.
Thank you xxxx
I need a Beth in California. Charlie ,I love your new place and love what you have done! You have a special touch!
Thanks so much! And Beth is incredible xx
I think a checkerboard above the aga would be lovely as you have cream on the walls 😍, great vlog xx
Either the pink Fired Earth tiles behind the Aga or the cream ones, with cream around the worktops. It's looking lovely.
Definitely a pink behind the Aga! It's coming along nicely!
Looking amazing Charlie ❤You’re making wonderful progress.
I would make a diamond shape with pink mosaic tiles in the middle of the aga splash back, , and surround it with the cream tiles. Make a feature. You don’t have to play it too safe as it’s easily changed down the line. The pop of pink will bring you such joy
Great video as always🥰🧡
Hello Simon 😁 👋🏼 Xx
I like the pink tile. The cream of the Aca is yellowed than the cream tile so the pink would look lovely. Just my humble take LOL
Thanks Charlie.... had a visit to a local brocante yesterday where I met the lovely Bill Potts.... told him I was a subscriber of yours and that your kitchen garden was coming on well, which he was pleased to hear.... we had a lovely chat. 😊
Such a lovely man 😊
Hi Charlie, so happy to see you finally have your Aga surround, it finishes it off beautifully. We think the pink and cream chequerboard tiles would look lovely there, and the cream for the rest of the kitchen with the pretty pink curtains. My husband wanted to know if you had an extractor hood installed above the Aga or elsewhere in the kitchen as he is very interested in how people ventilate their homes. Many thanks, Wendy x
Thanks so much, no extractor fan needed with an Aga, we are fresh air people so I often have the stable door open or a window xx
Such a productive week. Great blitz inside the barn organizing all the overflow. Now you can have a good look through and decide what to set free and what to store. Takes me back to my return from living in Asia a few years back. One 40 ft. tall container from storage filled the whole basement and most of house and the second 40 ft. tall had not arrived yet from Asia. My husband said to not go down in the basement I would have a stroke. After a good day or two I got a lot picked up off the floor and sorted up against the wall just in time for next lot. Just takes time and effort. Can be sorted. How amazing is your AGA surround, your Dan is a marvel. The storage so fab for your spices and cooking essentials to keep on hand tucked inside on the shelves so close at hand. The antique corner pine cabinet is such a gem too. I vote for the pale pink and cream checkerboard behind the AGA with cream tile around the rest. Love that green mini print for chair covers and I quite like the toile soft pink and white fabric for window treatment like a roman blind actually. The other is lovely too but love the loose pattern of the toile juxtaposed with the check tile pattern. Lots of lovely choices. One does get burn out after so much. Going to be the cutest, cozy kitchen and so cheerful.
Simon is so lovely !
Isn’t he ❤❤❤
My favourite was the light pink and cream as checkerbord, cream around the surface and the later of the pink curtains. The chairs remade with the green fabric.
I would go cream tiles and bring pink in with the fabrics and accessories
Chequer board 100% and it all looks amazing by the way. What a beautiful home you have both created xx
I think a combination of the fired earth pale pink and cream would be lovely 😍
Thanks so much xx
Charlie I think u need to look into buying a noise cancelling mic that you can clip on to your clothes. Right at the start, you’re barely audible over the noise of the wind. You can get great mics that would alleviate the issue
Thank you will look into it xx
Classic cream tiles and add the pink touches through accessories and fabrics.
Looking so good Charlie . My preference would be a pink pattern may be a diamond in the centre to match the diamond shape on the fabric edging ,then the rest cream . Love the pink and cream fabric it’s going to look GORGEOUS
Coco is ridding beautifully I love her thoughtful hands so nice to see . Have a good weekend .
Thanks so much xxx
Wow ! I love the new surround to the Aga it really finishes it off and such a useful storage space 👍 I think a cream & pink splash back would be nice , just to bring in an element of pink without going full on . I also love popping into Stable Antiques , it’s amazing what you can find and it’s so reasonably priced . As always a lovely vlog , thank you for sharing and enjoy having the the boys home 😘😘
So lovely to have them home and isn’t stable antiques fab xxx
I like the pale pink. I love pink and green together. Great and varied vlog 😊
I love the pink tile (on left) for the Aga surround and the cream as the rest.
Also really liked the second fabric you showed but with a green edging and loved the green for the dining chairs!
Looking so fab.
Love the green kitchen 😊
I LOVE the white lamps, with green patterned shades in the barn. They would look Fab in your bedroom 😊
Hi Charlie , love the lamp and pink tiles all pink or all cream 😊
Yes yes yes on the autumn fashion ❤ must admit my wardrobe has grown considerably 🤦♀️😂 I’ve just ordered another handbag from hicks and hides, why not 😊 xx
I so agree with Simon. The Fired Earth pink one would be lovely above your aga🩷 yes to the Autumn fashion 🧡 I just bought a few lovely jumpers from House of Bruar for Autumn/winter. My wee granny used to knit Arran jumpers just like the vintage one you bought. Love your kitchen so much. We have done our bedroom with Green & pink. Love those colours together. Can’t wait to see your home when it’s all finished. Thank you for another great vlog. Lots of love from the Scottish Highlands 💙
Thank you and lots of love xxx
You had me at Fire Earth !! Love the pink tiles 💖but I’m a safety girl ! think long term cream will never date .Maybe the cream tile around and then the pinks under and around your Aga . How fabulous good luck .
I think the tile that was propped up on the back of the Aga, placed to the far right, which wasn’t really mentioned, would really work in the area behind the Aga. It’ looked slightly darker than the other pink options but looked warmer on camera. A bolder statement and would match perfectly with the lovely fabric you’ve chosen. X
Hi Charlie, I vote for cream or cream and pink. Love your show, thank you!
behind the aga the chequer board and cream round the rest. the green fabric for chairs and pink for curtains x have a lovely weekend x
Love the cream Fired Earth tile, keeps it neutral and your aga is cream BUT definitely bring in that gorgeous pink wherever you can (your vase of pink flowers look really nice).X
Loved the vlog. That red cardigan with the hair and the makeup in the beginning looked so beautiful on you Charlie. Can't wait for next week vlog.
Charlie, I love empty perfume bottles too and my favourites are a couple of cut glass ones from from Ralph Lauren Safari. As an everyday scent, I have recently discovered that M&S sell a Sea Salt & Neroli that smells delicious (and is unbelievably inexpensive!) xx
Thanks for sharing that’s great to know xx
As regards your home just do you I have no doubt it will be the most amazing homey home☺️☺️☺️☺️
Thank you so much 😊
Great vlog as always….but LOTS of ads, which is unusual! I completely understand that this happens, but you’d think some algorithm or another could have chosen better suited adverts for your beautiful content…hearing about problematic sweaty “bits and pieces” in men’s underwear jarred a little 😂
As for tiles, Fired Earth pale pink and cream checkerboard behind the Aga, with just the cream as uptiles behind your counters, would be my choice. I think you’ll need a little pink there to bring in the curtains and other pink touches. And, for what it’s worth, I’d consider painting the “hood” for the Aga, above the shelf to the ceiling (just that top section) , the same colour as your walls. I think it would make the space feel more open. Again, just my humble suggestion. Keep doing what you’re doing….it’s all looking fabulous! Xx
Sorry about the algorithm i unfortunately have no control of it! Yes I know what you mean about the top part will see how it looks once it’s all finished xx
I like very much either cream or the pale tile on the left
I love the cream tile I think it would look lovely. Such a challenge to find the right pink would be so much easier to go the fabric route
Yes I think you are right
It looks so good, Charlie! I would vote for the chequerboard pattern. I am watching your bathroom renovation particularly closely because we are approaching one ourselves- and we are challenged with a very small space!
Hopefully it will be fully finished next week xx
Hi Charlie, thank you for another lovely vlog. I think the pink fired earth tiles behind the Aga and the cream fired earth tiles around the worktops but there are so many other lovely suggestions too …. The bathroom is looking very smart, great job. 👏🏼
I remember watching Lucinda Green eventing years ago. We were a horse family.
Isn’t she fab xx
@@ask.charlie yes she was my daughters idle when she was 14 and competing at pony club.
I would definitely go with the cream and intersperse with the fired earth pink. So glad to see things coming😊 together. What about blinds in that fabric rather than curtains? Looking forward to next week’s instalment.
Fired Earth checkerboard pink and cream. The nicest fabric was the pink and green Lilly of the valley. The others are too quiet against the strength of your green cupboards. It’s all so beautiful ❤
Also, the wine cardigan was beautiful. Please can you put a link to the brand. Thank you.
@@annhamilton2060I think it’s the Angie cardigan from Sezane (£125)
Hi Charlie. I think a chequered pattern using a cream tile with a green tile would be nicer above the Aga and a cream tile above the worktops. You can then use one of your pink fabrics for curtains and the green fabric on your chairs.
Personally I’d just use the fired earth pale pink & not use the cream (I don’t think they go with the kitchen worktop)…but hey, it’s not my kitchen! I’m sure it will look stunning whatever! Can’t wait to see what you decide!! 🍀
Just love your channel...the cream and pink would look very nice together with the green cupboards in my opinion and just love seeing your your husband! should see him more with you in each episode even if it's a few minutes....its all coming along nicely it's such an effort to redecorate and organise as well as trying to film it too thank you for sharing......
I’d go for the pink and cream check with the fabric Serena chose. Love the lamp in your bed room that really works nicely.
Looking forward to seeing it all finished with your Sosouk goodies in place too!
I would go with the ones you love
Hi Charlie, my preference would be cream tiles everywhere. Not sure about the cheaper pale pink but it’s not my kitchen so you do you! Xx
I think k that’s my preference to keep it simple xxx
I think I would go with the cream tiles as they would look classic and stand the test of time. However, I hate choosing fittings and furnishings as I can't tell unitl they are in if I am really going to like them. We bought a new rust colour velvet sofa last year to brighten up our duck egg and cream colour scheme and it took me quite a while to bond with it. You can always shove a bad choice jumper or frock at the back of the wardrobe, but have to live with expensive fittings. I love the green cupboards - I'm sure you'll make a good choice.
Isn’t it hard making these decisions xx
Perhaps make photocopies of the tiles and create a bit of checkerboard made of paper and cellotape it and see how you feel? Also attach different pieces of fabric around and give yourselves a chance to evaluate the whole thing? Wonderful choices, though, all of them.
Not a bad thing having the pink breaking up quite a lot of the green, a great choice pink and green
Cream around the edge and diamond checkerboard behind the aga with cream and pink.
no checker board and yes to pale pink fired earth , i love the aga surround ,i think the green is a little to dark for my taste i would have gone sage green and pale pink, beautiful kitchen
Thanks, the green looks really different on camera!
The kitchen is looking so good. The barn looks exciting. I really liked the Andy Warhol perfume bottle. I was shocked to see fur for sale. I honestly thought the trade had died for the western market.
Thank you, it’s vintage fur reworked xx
34:24 I thought you were in your old home for moment. It's nice to have something so familiar
Cream tiles and bring in your colour with the fabric 🏡
Hi Charlie, I would take Si's suggestion and do pink behind the Aga and cream around the counters. I love the fabric you chose as well for the curtains. Are you going to put up a drying rack like you had previously above the Aga?
I love the Fired Earth pink, the one Simon pointed out. The green fabric for the chair covers. Please may I ask where you purchased your long waterproof, I've been looking for one, but not sure if it would suit me too long or if I need to find one just below the knee. Many thanks, happy weekend. kisses.
Thank you and my long coat is from The Chestnut Collection xx
@@ask.charlie Thanks Charlie! Have a great Sunday!
Charlie, have you looked at Mandarin Stone for tiles? They have a great selection and are very reasonably priced. Also, I noticed a lot of openings in your barn, this will cause a lot of damp over the winter. We learnt the hard way with our garage, it was not fully air tight and unless it was stored in a lidded plastic crate it quickly developed mildew. I would be very concerned for your furniture, lamp shades etc.
Thank you, yes that’s why I was keen to get it organised asap everything that’s not in a plastic box will go in to proper storage that’s soft furnishings xx
It’s a shame as the barn looks like a great place for storage. Is there a way you could put plastic sheeting up against the walls to stop moisture getting in and around the doors. Plus getting some heaters on timers? Not sure if that would be enough, but would definitely help.
Cream tiles with pink/Green accents ,is my vote .You can get fed up of coloured tiles
Woodsage and sea salt is the Jo Malone. I use so much of her fragrance. Dark Amber and Gingerliy paired with Poppy and Barley is lovely. I also like her Tonka one with English Oak and Hazelnut. Woodsage and seasalt is my fave
I assume you’re painting that corner cupboard the same green as everything else otherwise it’ll look odd being wooden? Make life a lot easier if it’s painted before being mounted to the wall!
No keeping it unpainted as it’s a farmhouse kitchen it can have rustic elements xx
@@ask.charlieah right.
Cream tiles definately
Hello try Mandarin Stone have nice pink tiles
42:45 maybe just the cream tiles above the aga and then the pink tiles for the rest of the kitchen?
Fired Earth pink tiles only. Cream wouldn't look right because the Aga is cream and I think it would clash or look like you were trying to match but it didn't work. Chequerboard is too busy for the kitchen and I think its a dated look. Green for the chairs and pink curtains/blind.
Pink and cream check
Cream tiles
Cream
I think the pale pink breaks up your beautiful green
I had imagined something like the pale pink on the far left for behind the aga. Bloomin' love sigh, more of him please! I am currently in Barcelona sporting my new Ask Charlie tote ❤
Oh enjoy Barcelona xxx
