The male mated with all 4 of the females in the tank because he lives in a small enclosed habitat compared to in the wild where there isn't such an abundance of seahorse in a small space.
Carter Brown nah, males are just as frisky in the wild. I make the point in one of these videos that seahorses do need territory space, but the theory that seahorses “mate for life” has been proven false in all but a few specific species. (Erectus is definitely not one of them). A side note: It’s very interesting to me that my captive bred, aquarium kept seahorses live longer than any of the lifespan claims of those in the wild.
I personally don't advise crabs in the seahorse tank. Many of my videos show the opinions of the many people contributing to videos on this channel. Apologies for any confusion. Crabs might or might not be aggressive, so adding them is a risk you have to decide if you're willing to take. I like snails, and have found different types for almost every need :). Blenny's also.....a risk. In the blenny's case, the risk is related with mixing a captive bred seahorse (raised in a tank and free of disease and parasites) with a wild caught fish that has been exposed to different things. A good way to minimize the risk of adding other fish to a seahorse tank is to quarantine for 3-6 months in a separate tank, to be certain the fish are okay before mixing. There are always risks, and you have to decide for yourself what works best for your situation. Great question!
Seahorse Whisperer okay, thank you. Yeah, I once had a decorator crab that was incredibly peaceful, but I’ve also had crabs that are little bastards and try to attack everything.
exactly! With seahorses, even if they could recover from a pinch, the following bacterial infection could do them in. So, I personally steer clear, unless I've had the other fish/inverts for a very long time and know their personalities and know they aren't carrying anything to the tank. There are certainly nice crabs for sure :). But I've also heard stories about them turning after a life of "nice", so I personally don't risk it. Are you keeping seahorses? I'd love to see your pretties!
Lainet Solo , Where are you located? I apologize that I didn’t see this comment. seahorsesource.com and seahorsesavvy.com are my personal favorites in the US
With all those babies, do you sell them, or do you just let them get eaten? Marine tanks are too hard compared to freshwater tanks. Are there any freshwater seahorses?

If it's false... it isn't a fact.

What do you do with that many baby seahorses?
Probably enjoy the view
It's just a shame how the other countries are harvesting these little creatures!
