I grew up taking Chinese immersion so I often came to school and celebrated the fall festival with a little piece of moon cake from my teachers. All my teachers from k-8 were born and raised in china. I got to learn about the culture and got to learn and perform traditional songs and dances during Chinese New Year when we’d have assembly’s of all the Chinese classes performing what their teacher taught them. We’d have a dragon dance, each grade got a dragon, and we’d all take turns being on stage. I love Chinese culture and even though I’m not Chinese it was a huge part of my childhood.
So, traditional mooncakes have a yolk in there to symbolize the moon. I used to like the yolk as a kid, but I just don't like them as much now. These are still considered as mooncakes even if they don't have a yolk inside.

Thank you so much. I've been craving these specific ones for a while now. I left China 3 years ago and I still miss the food😢

Have you seen the exploding chinese mooncakes?
I know exactly what you're talking about. They're usually super sweet so I don't bother buying them.
Not to be rude or anything but where’s the moon part?(the egg thing)
It’s called mooncake because it’s usually eaten while celebrating Chinese lunar new year.
