And we’re literally right by all of these places. To say that the city is trash is something. River ranch is maybe 5 minutes from that area. Maybe explore more than the one bad road you turned on.

You werent anywhere near the Costco, Dave and Busters, all the high end homes, the beautiful new city park, Youngsville, VR arcade, multiple fancy bowling alleys with laser tag, Multiple fitness and trampoline parks including Surge owned by Drew Brees, or the actually nice concrete roads not even a mile away in the opposite direction. Additionally the entire city is wired for gigabit fiber. Man yall missed soooooo much of the city and area. You would probably love it.

You went through some bad areas of town where all the poor people live and missed the majority of the city. The southside is where everyone wants to live. That’s where all the shopping, recreational and restaurants are. It’s not as small, slow paced or rundown as you say. The population in the city itself is 135,000 and 300,000 including the metro area.
You gotta come out here either on a Saturday or during the month of may which is festival time. You must've came on a week day because i swear my city lit 🤟🏾 and yea the roads are really bad out here. But yea our food the best i swear 😋

first of all, thanks for coming to Lafayette! You're in the oldest part of town. The part you drove through is a teenth of what we have to offer. That part of Lafayette is certainly the city's heart, but if you ever have the time to come back for a longer period of time you'll be really surprised at what we have to offer. I'm thinking you also may have been downtown on the Sunday before Mardi Gras. We go hard in the paint for days before and lay low on that day to gear up for Monday and Tuesday. Be safe on your travels!
