What great ideas Michelle, I am going to be playing around with bean gravy now. Also I was reading ideas of what other people wrote in the comments, what great ideas they have too. Charlotte
What great options for beans ! Im thinking adding nutritional yeast . Giving it a cheesy flavor. Maybe substituting the white beans with pureed butternut squash for your " gravy ". Love the way you add tidbits from your fridge or counter .
I thought about nutritional yeast too! I think that would be delicious. Someone told me about the Better than Bouillon vegetarian smoky chipotle seasoning. That might be fun too to create a southwestern style mix.
Beans are amazing! Once a week, I make the beans described in a BuzzFeed article from 2019 called "Bodega Beans Are The Best Thing To Eat When You’re Broke." I use canned large lima beans, which sort of create a creamy gravy in the pan when you cook them. They are delicious!
Thanks for new ideas, cooking has been so difficult as my husband is not well and doesn’t care to eat so I appreciate the simple meals for myself, easy to fix thanks!
Wow, what a concept for those beans! I want to try that. I watched your video as I was eating lunch and your first meal looked almost the same as mine lol. I had over bought a bunch of meatballs so I fried those up with green peppers and added stewed tomatoes. and pasta. YUM! I made your vinny's black bean soup again last Tuesday, it was even better than last time! I think I added more cumin this time. Thanks for all the great videos Michelle. God bless!❤
@@daphnelattimer9952 I like to rinse them. The. I will put them in a pot making sure I have them covered my a couple inches. I will add a bay leaf, garlic, onion or any seasonings I want. I bring it up to a boil then lower to a simmer and let it go. I keep an eye on it and add more water as needed. I leave the salt out until the end as salt can make the beans seem tough. If they are older beans try soaking overnight. That can help soften them up.
Bean gravy on toast….as a kid we had chipped beef on toast, commonly called S.O.S. (💩On A Shingle). 🙀Am I the only one who remembers this? Of course, veggie version would be bean gravy. THOUGHT: Walmart has beans w/ spices already blended in, like Bushes & Serious Bean Co. Saw a recipe from Serious Bean, Carolina Gold w/ mustard, blended like a sandwich spread. Makes so much sense
Just the tip of sticking the emersion blender right into the can is fantastic thank you
I never thought about using beans as a gravy! Since I eat mostly vegetarian meals, this is a great option. 😊
I’ve used the cannellini beans for a lemon “cream” sauce for a vegan alfredo’ish veggie pasta dish.
That sounds delicious! I have to try that! Thanks for sharing!

Definitely I am going to try this white bean gravy, another beautiful and informative, inspiring video, thank you :)
Save the fat from the pan. It’s good to use in other meals. Adds flavor and saves on oil/fat costs.

I thought about nooch but I also thought about pecorino. A little bit goes a long way
Potatoes can also be used to make a cheese sauce. Beans are great for protien
Can you say how you do this? I love cheese sauce and I always have potatoes.
Will definitely try some of these, thank you!

I can’t wait to try this! Thank you!
I love the idea of making gravy from beans
I would have swapped the ground beef for lentils, get more servings and have money left over for some vegetables.
that's what I would have done also, but I do have viewers that like to eat meat.
@@ArdentMichelle I know you would, just trying to nudge some people into a certain direction 😉
You inspire me to try new.
💜
I have to try this bean gravy!

I've seen similar recipes, but even if I'm vegetarian, its seems to beany😅. But you made me curious, I will try it!
Dried beans are super cheap. They are easy to cook especially if you have an instapot.
Can you share with me how best to make them without an instapot? I can't seem to get them exactly right.
