We love this video too and always stress the importance of swing, quantise and humanise functions in Logic Pro (and all DAW's for that matter). More to come.
This is what I've been looking for. Got spoiled playing with a sick drummer in LA and have been super bummed trying to record drums in logic because I couldn't make any sort of groove happen. Gonna be playin with this a lot, thanks!
WHOA!!! NOW that is sick den a mug... Bruh, that's outstanding.. That is bananas thanks for that dude.. You took my game with this to a whole different level.. lol.. This is a must save..
Very well explained. For some reason though, after selecting "Make groove template", when I then go to apply it to my MIDI it's not in the list of available groove templates. I've tried multiple times. Does anyone know why this is?
Yes you can show groove track and star the track you want the others to follow but the issue there is it gets hidden and then every time you make a change or record something new you forget and have to re star and re follow. I just think it's amazing theory but hard to implement the whole way
Hi Michael, the bass sound is a relatively straightforward single oscillator bass patch in Spire with a sprinkle of saturation from FabFilter Saturn and Plugin Alliance's Black Box Analog Design HG-2. Set the oscillator mode to FM, mix in a little bit of sin with the WT mix to taste, set your cutoff envelope to be snappy and apply the perfecto lp4 filter and that's about it. You can play with the unsion voices, detune and width of the oscillator to help sit it in your mix a bit better/beef it up. Also adjusting the phase of the oscillator can help you dial in the character of the attack of the sound. James.
This is the best video I saw about this topic. Thank you!

hi i have a question that i dont have hat loop option in my logic. thank u very much
Can’t you also just make a certain track the groove track, then tell the other tracks to follow the groove track?
Yes you can show groove track and star the track you want the others to follow but the issue there is it gets hidden and then every time you make a change or record something new you forget and have to re star and re follow. I just think it's amazing theory but hard to implement the whole way
When I turned on Flex and chose Slicing the loop got 2 times smaller. Why is that?
Hard to say here on RUclips but maybe yo have Follow Tempo on?
Then put a pumping compressor on it that let's the transients through.... And get it to breath. Nice video
does it apply the Velocity as well?
Yes humanise does indeed.
🙏👌
What's the Bass sound you're using?
