Thanks for watching Ironlights VR Review - Oculus Quest VS PCVR Игры
I bought it and am having fun. I think that IronLights' best days are on the horizon. A few more classes, or custom class creation and some tinkering with the game flow and it'll be a killer app.
You got your wish
@@kalv1nplays yup
Good review. Lots of info and exactly what I was looking for. If i have questions about another vr game, i'll come here.
Glad to hear it
You earned this man my subscription
nice, super helpful video
This is an amazing game in my opinion that the devs always update to fix bugs and add more content and I’ve played it so much to the point where I passed a qualifier tourney that the devs added
Hi shadow
Good review. We need more VR reviewers!
Thanks, i'll do my best to cover what I can
i got ironlights and was having a lot of fun playing the campaign, but then I was wanting to check out multiplayer and come to find only 20 or so people online, and no sessions found. It made me sad because I not only was hoping for some pvp but the game is super fun and is competitive which is the best part in my opinion. I feel like a lot more people should be playing it
Its a pretty good review i learned a hole much more thanks i dont have a vr but i stil love your video's no homo
Thanks for the feedback
about the part you said on not being able to move that much, a big part of higher level gameplay is dodging and when you start dodging you come to learn that the boundary is actually at a perfect size so yeah just wanted to add that for anyone wondering
Why can’t I as a PCVR user not use voice chat with Oculus Quest users? Why is no one talking about that? My brother uses the Oculus Quest 2 and whenever we play together the voice chat doesn’t work for us. Someone please reply with some info if you know anything that can help or if you’ve discovered the same problem.
Bought the game today it’s a blast
if you spin the monk staff on your side and let go when you attack, it will keep spinning and do damage (and blocks!)
Love the Quest side by side comparison and your pinned comment Matteo so others can meet people playing in this, and anything VR :)
How do you hold the staff with both hands?
I didnt do anything special. I just held it
It should also be stated that the nature of Ironlights’ combat grant s medium replay ability in my opinion. Does it suck that there’s no unique campaign for each class? Yeah, but we got 10 classes now, it would be asking for too much! The main dev is a nice guy, the work he’s done is great. Somehow the man made a game the draws people to mastering one path or taking several or all of them. Each class is different, so it’s actually great that you can’t trick the AI the same exact way for each class. Besides, in a way it shows class mastery to a point since you have the classes’ rhythms down
It's definitely improved a lot over time
Until You Fall is an amazing game, I already clocked in more hours in that game than in Alyx.
Hours clocked in a game means nothing.
@@TheOGjarilo oh ok I didn't realize I played 50 hours of a game I absolutely hated, how could I have wasted so much time
@@mamba109 I have 500 hours in Sparc, best VR game ever mate. You missed my point.
@@TheOGjarilo The point is the "best" game is the one you enjoy the most, regardless of it's graphical superiority or technical innovation. Sure Alyx can get VR GOTY, but it's not the best game FOR ME.
@@mamba109 Why are you trying to explain subjectivity to me? I'm letting you know that Game time is a poor factor to judge games by. I have more hours in A LOT of games than HL:A, including Skyrim VR, FO4 VR, Sparc, heck I think I got more in Pistol Whip. During game time though HL:A was the better game, it was just shorter.
Ah I love ironlights but it dosent get enough recognition also ironlights has had a big champion update ☺️
I'll have to check it out
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 If you have time you should really make another review on the game and check it out again, I am currently one of the top multiplayer players, and a community manager so if you would be interested reach back out to me as we have a community team for advertising the game and a review from you would certainly help out the game.
@@shadowsoul2620 I rarely do reviews anymore but I will try to check it out

Ironlights is nearing peak popularity. More gaslighting onto the game from creators and more updates; it could be one of the best VR games.
This man goes “the melee fights is slow motion so the weapons trail behind you” the developers have said it is on purpose so you go slow motion IRL
Yes and it feels weird
Well done for the review, I think you have found the weaknesses. It's gonna be hard for a VR game to simulate real combat as it is super boring and tiring. I do think that following an ancient guide to help devs may give a better sense of realism for them. Then again the buyers want to swing their swords like Aragorn and not want a real sword fighting VR SIM. One little point is the move box, you can move freely within the defined boundary, improving that realistically would be the ability to shuffle round the opponent like in boxing.
Its going to be near impossible to simulate melee combat in VR. There is no weight or physical feedback. I think inventive and fun solutions are the only options
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 Training created a negation of physical feedback or weight. Stamina rather than a magic tool can become a real component to the fight. The killing blow is always the first option but tiring the opponent to arrive at this point is a tactic. Depends where the game wants to be, i'll just have wait for purist when this title can reply to both arcade and reality seeker.
it looks like im too tall for the game cuz i just take dmg over a line in game how i fix
if you kneel down do you stop taking damage?
That was the perfect amount of info 🙌 glad to see how close they are so might give it a pass on the computer and enjoy some wire free quest play for the first time in a while! 👍
I gotta say, I was super sceptical about this game from the footage but I decided to get it to try it out and omg it feels 100x better to play than it looks on video I haven’t tried out all the classes yet and I haven’t even got into the myriad of other weapons in the sandbox mode or whatever it’s called but as of right now my favourite weapons I’ve tried so far are the great sword the katana and tied for my absolute favourites are the bo staff and the scythe, the staff is easily the most satisfying, being able to twirl it round feels so good, and the scythe just flows really well for me and since it’s a scythe it can reach over the enemies weapon and poke them in the top of the head, feels really good 😂
The only weapon I didn’t like so far is the flail, having a shield is nice but I just don’t feel like I have any control over the weapon when swinging it, and I also hate fighting against it tho because I can never seem to block it
Most vr games look much better in game
Maybe come back to it. Theres a ton of new customizations, 5 more weapons, and the sequel is coming next year.
Also not moving is a skill issue, the circle is a lot bigger than you think
I swear to god I’m like the tabs reaper with the scythe, because I range until they have a place to attack and then swing. The only thing that I’ve been defeated by is......MONK wow
3:05 dude the circle is big enough for you to sidestep. If you got 4 metres of length, it comes in handy.
first online match i played i moved out of the circle with barely any side to side movement. After the quickly taking a lot of damage I was completely paranoid to move around the circle again. Maybe they should cover this in the tutorial
Not sure on this one I like strategic fighting
Oculus did one with magic which was an early title purely strategic and was really good .
I would prob only play it in multiplayer I just hope it dosent become s ghost town
the unspoken is amazing and also not dead! people are still playing matches and organizing thru discord
This game is amazing
I'm glad you like it
when is the realise?
Its available today
I will say 2 years later I just got the game 3 days ago and MP is a ghost town and everyone who plays it just exploits certain abilities with certain classes
Anyone know what this game is cause I want to download it 1:03
I'm actually saying the name of the game. Its the walking dead saints and sinners
bruh he said the name
I'm going to share this to SteamVR RUclipsrs on f.b. I like your style and I'm soon to be back at updating and creating for the group. I'd love to have you join, if you would. It's a small community but we all are pretty helpful and love participating in each other's videos. Self promotion is encouraged and dark humor is welcome 😂 As soon as I can stop being obsessed with Tiger King, I'll be back!!
I'd love to join, thanks. I just finished Tiger King myself and randomly ended up on the news yesterday. (Tree flew during a storm next to my house) I was really close to telling them my name was Joe Exotic just for the viral exposure
i dont know how you could play this game standing completely still and "not see the guardian boundary." the big circle your character is in represents the boundaries and its pretty big. some classes you have to dodge irl or you're gonna get destroyed (like against the crusader.) the only criticism i have of this review is the phrase "it doesnt take advantage of quest tracking" especially when quest players are the only ones who can do the show-off spinning stuff.
The first time I side stepped i was immediately outside the boundary, so I ended up playing it as a stationary game. I see no need to spin in place and this doesn't use room scale
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 Check your feet next time you boot up the game. The game allows for a gracious amount of movement. If you went OOB from a simple sidestep you probably started off-center. You can probably step 2-3 times before going OOB from center. The game keeps the "center" of your playspace memorized and currently doesnt have a recenter button.
Theres no "need" to spin but its fun, stylish, and feels great when you've got the mechanics down.
"The game doesnt use roomscale" is just false, if you don't have the enough roomscale to navigate the circle boundary you're going to lose against classes like the Crusader, whichh heavily incentivize dodging irl.
Standing in 1 place feels heavily de-incentivized.
Lastly an aspect of the game you did not mention in your review is the excellent replay system and gif maker...
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 heres some footage of me dodging in my playspace..
gfycat.com/gleefuluncommoncuscus
Yeah you have to use room scale to play against a good crusader, because you won’t be able to block everything and need to be able to dodge that wrecking ball
thanks, you saved me 20 bucks
Glad to help
I feel like this review missed a lot of genius in the game’s mechanics, like why it’s slow-mo, why your space is limited, and why weapons shatter(to simulate realistic pushback after collision).
I understand the reasons I just don't necessarily like them. I prefer the open combat of Swords of gurrah a lot more
Melee tech demo
Nah, its a bit more than a tech demo
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 It's a 1 on 1 duel game that attempts to refine melee in VR with no story. Boneworks has a story and it gets shit on for being a tech demo.
4:40 ai needs work. Again it's just a matter of sidestepping. If the ai did that, this wouldnt be an issue.
So what you are saying is the AI needs work.
