After a while you realize that the techniques to making most sounds are more or less the same. Mess around with different wavetables, use different warp modes like FM from B, sync, bend +/-, etc.. use envelopes to shorten or lengthen sounds and on filters for more shape and you’re good. When it gets into your effect chain, which is completely subjective, thats when it can get a bit complex to get that polished, professional sound.
@@jamesangell6027 just practice, plain and simple. Get a preset that you like and break it down. Turn knobs, remove filters/effects, change the shape of the envelopes to see what the effects/filters and envelopes are doing to the sound. Look up a song that you like and find someone making the lead or main bass and recreate it. Make sure to save the preset! Make minor adjustments to that and you can get a whole new sound. Always save a preset you made for later! Hit me up if you have any more questions.
everybody saying "i could just sample it" misses the point - this is how you can create the sound to modify it. extend the decay or release time, use it as part of a bigger synth, modify the waveforms themselves, etc. saying you could just sample it is the FL studio mindset of needing a preset to do everything.
I love electronic music, yet I understood only 2% of what was said. I unfortunately still have NO clue what goes on in generators/plugins even after attempting to use them after five years.
Fun fact: the 808 cowbell was made using 2 detuned Square waves
You mean triangle
@@karimzamora8165 I get it
No, it's saw.
@@karimzamora8165 you have the same last name as me thats crazy
you get a more saturated sound with saw waves

For those wondering, the commonly used sample is called VT-CB. It's in the vintage drums folder in FL Studio
Which comes from the TR-808 bruh
sounds more like pluck synth than hip hop cowbell
I was really trying to get something between a squelch and a honk, maybe a squonk
That’s a lot of work for such a simple sound but I respect the genius of it.
I spent hours looking for a tutorial on how to do this AND YOU FINALLY MADE MY DAY
Ur a genius
thanks man you're awesome love how tight and clean your shorts are
And I just pitch the cowbell on my 808
“How to make a phonk cowbell”
*makes a pluck synth and uses it in a house track* 💀
literally
i needed this a lot
I'll just buy a cowbell.
It won't make a sound that is anything similar to a phonk cowbell. Good luck.
@@crewd00d nah wtf i wanna own a fucking cowbell
@@henzoosu then go get one. It just sounds very different than the one used in hip-hop and electronic music.
@@crewd00d yeah but how cool would i be of I would own a fucking cowbell?

What does fine tuning?
после 2х первых шагов можно было заканчивать, всё равно при сведении звук доведётся до такого уровня

Or you could grab a sample but this is good too
it gives some interesting possibilities but sampling is just easier imo

you didn't have to write a complete out of tune bassline for the preview in the end 😭
This is cool, but i would just use an 808 cowbell sample 😅

Or just sample a real 808 cowbell...

Or you just add the phonk cowbell wav track

Not really it. I reacrated this sound with to detuned saws. No need for pitch modulation
stop calling this phonk its just a cowbell
bruhhh this is like 700 steps to make the sound
you could just sample it lol
this shit is NOT phonk bruh
Dune sounds better.
Phonk is so dead lmao. Went from chill lo-fi memphis/trap and dark doomshop beats to this
