That Kidde pull, they used to have those at the train station platform entrance in South Station Boston MA. But some time in the past decade they were replaced with Sigcom T-bar pulls rebranded by Simplex. (They were installed as part of a Thorn-Kidde voice-evac system from 1989, which has since been upgraded to a Simplex 4100U, but several other Kidde components are still intact.)

Question for you:
Do you know why Simplex panels take longer to reset than other panels?

My guess would just be that its verification process takes longer to verify that all points are normal. It actually takes about the same as my SK-5208, except that the SK turns off the NAC's before verification. If a zone on the SK is still in alarm after reset, the panel goes back into alarm, whereas the Simplex just wont clear the alarm and reset until all points are showing normal.
