Nope, theres zero fat on his bars. If u were to add or subtract one word or letter in any order it would mess it all up. His rhymes are the definition of succinct.
This is the first song by KA that really moved me. I remember that cold night in the west Texas desert. I remember it was frost on the ground and my whole apt being cold except my bedroom and this was flowing from my iMac speakers. So much was going on at that time and this song captured everything I was feeling and thinking. Shit was surreal. "Judge me too quick, mistake me as a heathen Because I had tools, moved weight, and was thievin' But I was broke, out the gate I was grievin' Had a cold heart cause my apartment was freezin'" Rest In Power Ka
Aesop rock actually turned me onto Ka years ago (around the time he released the impossible kid) and this was the first song I listened to. I liked the vibe immediately but when I heard that line I said holy shit lol. Aes mentioned in an interview that Ka was a big source of inspiration as a writer which was dope to hear. I still bump Ka to this day. Incredibly gifted individual
In a time where music/hip hop is all about “get your bag no matter what” Ka did what he wanted to do. He never compromised for money or clout. Ka stood for something. He is someone anyone can look up to. Rest in peace, Ka.
R.I.P Ka... Dude when i discovered your music i damn̈ near called everyone i knew to tell them I'd found the TRUTH... The impact you made on me, and others is very profound..you'll be sorely missed my G 🕊🙏🏿
Just found out about you a couple of years ago man, you were an elite mc, a masterful poet, a student of the craft, I didn't know you personally but your music was powerful sir, rest easy... 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I came here to bid one of the finest pens I've ever heard farewell. This one hits me differently. The music that was articulated got me through some tough times. As long as I'm able to hear, your art will always live on. R.I.P. 🕊
Rest in peace to the greatest, i couldn't digest the news...why did you leave me?? I had dreams to see you in person too. Fly high Kaseem, you were a father figure to me ❤️💐
Ka has one of the most unique styles I've ever heard. I can't think of anyone who sounds like him. Not only that but he is one of the best writers I've ever heard and his albums are cohesive and the overall vibe makes you kick back and take it all in. I put his stuff on at night when I'm having a hard time sleeping but only the stuff that I've heard a thousand times because anything new would have me sitting up all night trying to figure out everything he did that I missed lol. Such a gifted artist in every sense of the word
The best! When my grandmother died, I found KA. And would loose myself in his realness. That was 5 years ago. Still this gives me goosebumps. Jess, London.
8 yrs later and I still have to say respect to u cos u speaking my language. The Wu got me on that gritty/cinematic/sample heavy type beats and since then I've searched hard for these type tunes. At this moment Ka's track "Argo" got me hooked like a snapper
I've been listening to ka for a while now close to a year I've listened to almost all his stuff since then. He's honestly my favorite rapper. His style reminds me of a subdued Mfdoom. He says it best on argo "flow aquatic, known alone for my slow hypnotic"
i'm spanish so I have a hard time understanding the lyrics but i can't put in words how grateful i am for this kind of TRUE music endless respect for KA, this is more than talent, this is the human being evolving
"Grew up with good spirited goons now I only see em in tombs or in visiting rooms" - My god this man has bars. Reminds me of DOOM or Earl a bit, but his style is different. One of my favourite artists right now.
This is the best MUSIC I've heard in years. I remember hearing KA once, and only once, on a GZA's Protools. I thought he was incredible then. So good he's active again and putting out music like this. Very excited about this discovery.
as always, ka stays raw. Break through artist, that couldnt be needed more at this low point in this history of the game.... big up everyone viewin this...
I was talking about the feeling that I got anticipating these interesting new beats, bars and adlibs, was reminiscent of when I first listened to DOOM (being introduced to madlib) , not that Ka necessarily reminded me of DOOM but I feel ya, the intricacy of his wordplay and brutal way his rhymes forces u to think is also reminiscent of DOOM.
I've first herd this track on nrp music back in 2014. Listend to it off and on through the years. And I just barely realized the voice in the background. 2:40
glad i checked out that pitchfork 2021 top 50 best albums. I love how he doesnt ride the beat although it is the one of the fundamentals of hip hop. This is like spoken word over an ambient track. Im a new fan. This is hip hop evolving

The cold fact this only has half a million views is actually fucking criminal. But those half a million views changed someone’s life. For real.
