One of THE best CT episodes yet, Alex discovering he had reverse gear is a golden moment as was that backward bicycle...hope there’s a future for that plucky Saxo. Part 3 bring it on!!!!!
The production on this is stellar. From 3 blokes in their house to TV level quality is amazing. I’m sure there’s others behind the scenes who deserve a name-check, but I’d love to know how you go from filming each other messing about to a top quality series that’s trending globally

Saxo is best what Citroën made since 1990..and if you doubt it ask any owner of saxo.. And usually they keep price.. Only downside is if you crash you are history..
I would love to see you three fix what is broken on the three cars and then take them to Southern most point. I think you should make a mini-series out of fixing the three cars for your Journey. Call it "fixing shit".

Something like a Saxo is actually so appealing nowadays. Really refreshing to have something that let's you actually feel the road, that's easy to work on, and cheap to run and fix. When you're in anything that light, it feels like a go-kart, you don't need a lot of power to have fun. Adding some upgrades and TLC at the value you paid for these cars sounds like a good idea
This one was classic saxo with 1.1 small petrol engine but there is saxo vts with 1.6 petrol which is work of art and it is an excellent cheap car for track days and auto cross but the safety is terrible for todays standards. However the saxo vts is kind of rare so you may not be able to find it but you could have more luck with clio with 1.6 which not as good (it has a better safety rating so for sure a better fit for a daily) but it is still a small zippy car with an okay engine.

@@Stan_the_Belgian that's what I got rid of my mk1 Mx5... You can only weld, and wax seal so many times and still call it safe. Cars like this will generally be a weekend car though, something to drive to a country pub on a nice day, not something for a daily commute, but it only takes one idiot...
The closest thing now is a Citroen c1. My wife had a 2009 plate. Was like a little go kart. So easy to work on. Took me less than an hour to replace the front discs and pads and change the oil out.

They are certainly on there way, and its tricky because you overplay quite quickly. As a foreigner watching this one element i adore is pure british banter. If they stick to that you should have a lot of content already. Although brits might be more critical on that content
This road trip has to be one of your best, heck one of the best car video's I've seen!! So happy to see those three cars batteling in that wonderfull landscape. So for anyone watching this video there is an old mechanics trick using WD40 that helps any wiper blades that are noisy quiet down and stop streaking. It's very simple you pull the wiper blades off of the screen get a microfiber rag and soak it completely in WD40 then you pinch the wiper blade between your thumb and forefinger and swipe down the blades until the rubber black stain that you're seeing on the rag becomes lighter and lighter. It will never completely go away but it will remove all of the dust and dirt that is causing both the streaking and the noise. After that just make sure that the wiper blades don't touch the windscreen again until you see that the WD40 has dried. Another thing that helps before you lay the windshield wipers back on the screen is to give the windscreen a good cleaning with a high potency, high proof alcohol soaked rag. This is a trick that I got from an old hot-rodder that has been building custom hot rods since The Beach Boys were popular.

We have a C1 we paid £400 for, and I love driving it. It’s got no power, the bodywork is rough, but it frees you up from being too precious about the car and you enjoy driving more!

Everybody I know that owns or has owned a Saxo says nothing but good things about it. Even if they had pretty severe mechanical issues with them, people still love them.
I had a VTR last summer that I bought to flip. Fell in love with it in just a few days. If I didn’t already have a 205 it’d be tucked up in my garage right now. Desperate for another one!
My saxo was class I brought it on 50k for 60 with 12 months mot, thrashed for a year didn’t spend a penny on it then weighed it in for 60 quid, such a fun car to drive
Most of my driving experience has been in vehicles like these. Occasionally I buy something nice but I always gravitate back to a box. I bought a MK4 Golf PD150 for £800 at the beginning of summer. 3500 miles and £1500 later it's about to do it's first trackday.

Myself and the missus did the nc-767, counter clockwise , in a budget 2009 1.4 Fiesta with 90,000 miles on the clock back in early May 2021.. We fell in love with her, our little blue dot. Your adventure brought back all the memories of RAIN, SNOW, HAIL and gale force winds of the wettest ffkkin MAY since records began.. But we loved every mile... and yes we had a random light on the dash. 1704 miles of Adventure.. Thank you lads and more power to your oil burner little shit boxes :))))))

So for anyone watching this video there is an old mechanics trick using WD40 that helps any wiper blades that are noisy quiet down and stop streaking. It's very simple you pull the wiper blades off of the screen get a microfiber rag and soak it completely in WD40 then you pinch the wiper blade between your thumb and forefinger and swipe down the blades until the rubber black stain that you're seeing on the rag becomes lighter and lighter. It will never completely go away but it will remove all of the dust and dirt that is causing both the streaking and the noise. After that just make sure that the wiper blades don't touch the windscreen again until you see that the WD40 has dried. Another thing that helps before you lay the windshield wipers back on the screen is to give the windscreen a good cleaning with a high potency, high proof alcohol soaked rag. This is a trick that I got from an old hot-rodder that has been building custom hot rods since The Beach Boys were popular.
Shoulda just used something like rainx on the windscreen, above 50mph no wipers needed

We have a C1 we paid £400 for, and I love driving it. It’s got no power, the bodywork is rough, but it frees you up from being too precious about the car and you enjoy driving more!

Everybody I know that owns or has owned a Saxo says nothing but good things about it. Even if they had pretty severe mechanical issues with them, people still love them.

My saxo was class I brought it on 50k for 60 with 12 months mot, thrashed for a year didn’t spend a penny on it then weighed it in for 60 quid, such a fun car to drive

I bought a MK4 Golf PD150 for £800 at the beginning of summer. 3500 miles and £1500 later it's about to do it's first trackday.

, in a budget 2009 1.4 Fiesta with 90,000 miles on the clock back in early May 2021.. We fell in love with her, our little blue dot. Your adventure brought back all the memories of RAIN, SNOW, HAIL and gale force winds of the wettest ffkkin MAY since records began.. But we loved every mile... and yes we had a random light on the dash. 1704 miles of Adventure.. Thank you lads and more power to your oil burner little shit boxes :))))))
