awesome comment and I have to thank you because you brought back sweet memories.I miss those days when MTV actually played music..In today's time they should be called STV (shit television)..Vivian is one of those "unique" guitarists..an innovator that played stuff that nobody had ever seen.He is one of my favorite musicians and one of the reasons why I started playing guitar.
Its also one of my first solos I learned..it took me years to actually play it smooth(I'm a slow learner)lol One of my favorite solos to play right next to the solo from Last In Line..I still get goosebumps when I'm playing it.
Great lesson! More Vivian would be awesome! By the way, I loved your Rhett Shull podcast. I live in Oklahoma and was shocked to hear you say you were here for while. would love to have a local teacher with your skill here now. Keep up the great content!!
How you doing Brett? Dio was one of the greats and the bands he played with. How about the song "Last in line". I mean you could pick any song off Holy Diver LP also. Peace brother
Another great lesson Brett !! Thank you so much 😊 This is easy enough to learn but I’d like to learn the solo . Any chance of that in the future?? Stay healthy and wealthy my friend ✌️🤟😷
Great tutorial, tone and playing. I like what you did with your strat by getting rid of the volume knob as it gets in the way. Subscribed. And yes, more Dio!
My man - I've been following you for a long time (early Marty) - this is your best video yet! Dio, Pentatonic scales, country picking... That part is subjective What I mean is you paced how well you shared your considerable talent with how well we can take it in (if that makes sense) Appreciate you taking the time to teach Papa 🔥🎸
@Brett, dude! Great lesson!! Nice to have you showcasing some classic Metal amigo. Great to see you shine in your element man! Love the diversity in the channel; stay healthy and be safe my friend. Rock on!!
I'm so happy that I found your channel...you are an awesome guitarist and teacher..thanks for taking the time to make these videos ..I appreciate that.
@@BrettPapa these kind of songs are great for practicing guitar, but many guys need to be honest with themselves, singers able to do Dio etc, tend to play with top dollar Pro Players, so chances to do live limited unless you want to murder it singing yourself!
I don't know if you're in LOCKDOWN? but if you are could you please use some time for the PINK FLOYD tune you were going to do. If I remember rightly it was MAROONED......Remember me?
I always thought "diamonds " referred to the duration that you stay on a note or chord. I think it might be at least a full measure on notation. I might be wrong. I think I was once.
papastache102 Thanks. You and your family stay safe. The world needs more Papastache and his Rocking Royalty. I just fried my Custom hand wired Princeton Reverb power transformer from a short in a Boss A.C. Adapter I have been wiggling the wire on for over a month to get it to power my Boss TU-2 and a Timmy, Fulltone Ultimate Octave, and a Nobels ODR-1. It hurts, I have several TREX power supplies and a bunch of A.C. Adapters that Mike and several companies claim you need when you purchase their pedals. I am hopefully going to take it to Mike at Komet amps and get a Mercury Magnetic transformer unless YOU recommend something else.
papastache102 Please share your expert amplifier building knowledge on this subject. I sure wish I could build it like Alex Dumble does the Deluxe’s he has been selling lately to only a few selected players with tons of cash.
Great lesson to develop accuracy! How about a go at the brill solo from Lonely Boy by Andrew Gold Don't think it's out there yet! Keep entertaining us with your cheery and relaxed lessons Cheers Stephen
I think this sounds like one of the most authentic version lessons out there. Really great tone too. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! Glad you lied it! Thanks for checking it out!
1983. A great year. Who remembers watching the Dio concert on MTV with Vivian playing his Les Paul?
