I bought a Vamelo in the beginning of the year and had a few lessons. May I ask a few question: 1. How do I clean the reed without damaging it? I mean it got some dirt from the lips. With water, alcohol? 2. If the reed seems ready to play when I pick it up should I still warm it for some time? 3. Do you know of a good website where there are charts for different fingering patterns? Some times I see players remove all the fingers as one plays up the scale and other seems to lift just that finger over the hole for each note. Would be grateful for feedback!
1. Both water or water with soap, or alcohol, or H2O2 are good. 2. A little bit warming up could be helpful anyway. 3. No, I don't know any website like this
Could you do a video on the difference between the scratchy dry sound compared to the regular sound it makes when it’s just louder when you put more strength in? I can’t tell the difference since I haven’t been playing long and I don’t have the ear for it
Welcome. There is no answer to this question since there is no usual about it. Depends on your experience, quality of the reed, climate .. you can also spoil it's sound in 10 minutes
Very good advice on reed management , I have just started Duduk and it plays ok but the scale is way off the A major scale , can it be tuned or is it a problem with reed not being good enough ?
Hallo Karuna, greetings from Greece, can you tell me if there is any difference between the back and front side of the reed? Is there a correct side to adjust it in the duduk?
In general it doesn't matter which side. What matters in terms of comfort is on which side is the cap hanging. If your upper hand is left the cap should hang on the right.
@@KarunaDuduk ok, thanks Karuna. I have one more question. I have two reeds, one is in the correct pitch A, the other is higher on B but my duduk is an A key duduk, is there any solution for my second reed?
Took advices from all your good videos, thank you! But one thing I can't figure out: once I change the notes up or down, air its just passing, no sound. Can you tell what could be the problem?

Could be one of these or all together. Who made your duduk and how much didi it cost ?
@@KarunaDudukHi , I got It on eBay from someone in Armenia , I do not know if they made it . It cost £45 .
@@ashleyrowe2945 sounds like it is rather a souvenier . A good duduk set from a good maker with 2 reeds is around 200 USD.
@@KarunaDuduk Ok , I have learnt by my mistake, would a better quality reed make a difference ?
@@ashleyrowe2945 a better quality reed always makes a difference. In case you would ask me how much it costs to get 2 nice reeds from Armenia - 50 EUR
