TBH I preferred the diaclone colours alot more! I know the TR are the original and toy colours but white and blue doesn't pop out when compared to red and purple!
Congratulations! You found the one person on Earth who was asking for a Diaclone version on Twintwist and Topspin. I had an original Topspin as a kid and I have both Titans Returns originals. I paid a little extra for Twintwist since when I started collecting, he was about a year old and hard to find. I am also that one person on Earth who asks since we had the other Diaclone homages, why not finish them? I am asking for a red Mirage, Riggorus, blue Hoist with "wrecker" on his side, Reboost and the other red Skids (Screech I think), Loud Pedal, and all the Insecticons in their Diaclone colors. Maybe Delta Magnus too since they did it for the other Magnus mold. Heck not Diaclone but I would take an orange Mudflap from the Skids mold too. Generation Selects has been severely underutilized and this is where the recolors lived for a while so limited amounts of Diaclone homages would have been perfect there. What I wish they would do is make them not headmasters. These were trademark saves. But, I am not sure they will do new ones. They may be moving away from G1 as we die off and go to nursing homes. But, I am that guy. I also keep Long John Silver's open too...
People that already have them could double dip and the one's that never got the originals gets a chance to experience the molds. They always tend to do that

The only "weird" thing is that they didn't pack Topspin & Twin Twist together in a 2-pack. These 2 characters are a 2-pack. How can you possibly fuck that up??? I didn't buy Diaclone Twin Twist because there was no Topspin. I was waiting to see if they would release Topspin eventually. I just ordered Twin Twist off Nerdzoic and right after I ordered him it said SOLD OUT. He was already delivered and I have Topspin pre-ordered. I have the Titans Return Topspin + the Takara Legends Twin Twist. The set is almost complete.
I mean, what did you all expect? Both are in exclusive lines and there was nothing they could retool new molds for these guys from. Maybe a Rack n' Ruin would've been better, yes, but for the wreckers that was really just the characters they had to go with and fit what they were/are doing at the time.

In My Opinion well I like more of G1 Topspin & Twin Twist Original Color Scheme From Generation 1 to be honest when I got mine Legacy Twin Twist Diaclone from Amazon I was like Wow Twin Twist Look Pretty Great & Cool With This Diaclone Color Scheme it make the figure look so much better now I want Hasbro to do Samething with Topspin next with his Diaclone Color an I was very happy & excited for Diaclone Topspin is coming I have already Pre ordered the Two pack I can’t wait when it Arrived So My Own Hot Take I’m very much like prefer Topspin & Twin Twist’s Diaclone Color Scheme more then There G1 Original Color that is Very Rare for me to say it
The Wreck N Doom packs...do we know how many combos there will be? Could they do the excuse to bring back Devcon in this plus Flywheels? Maybe get an Octopunch and Stranglehold? I really want to see the Carnivac vs Ironfist one.
My assumption is, at the time they didn't want to do a straight reissue of the TR Twin Twist since it'd only been five years but they needed another Wrecker so they did the alt colors version? And now that they're reissuing Spinister but with his Targetmasters to match Needlenose and Quake, they needed to put him in a multipack so the people who got the Siege version wouldn't feel ripped off so they used it as an excuse to do a Topspin to match Twin Twist? Completely spitballing here, take everything I've said with an avalanche of salt I'm sure they'll do new versions of the Jumpstarters eventually but I wouldn't hold my breath for it, they're some of the few G1 figures that didn't make it into the cartoon, it's been over 10 years since we had a new Whirl and Roadbuster, and we're only just now getting the Deluxe Insecticons (I'm not counting the Legends class versions)

Sadly, this makes perfect sense from a marketing point of view. Releasing multipacks is better for the company because the customer has to make the equivalent of multiple purchases. Releasing a less desirable deco on one of them is better for the company because they can always release the preferred deco later on, either by itself, or again, as part of another multipack. For similar reasons, Hasbro like to release Transformers from different eras. While the people designing the figures absolutely want to give us what we want, marketing has other ideas. They're out to get as much money out of the customer base as they can, and they will use every trick in the book to do it.
I missed out on both of these figures, and I have the 'Wreck N Rule' Twin Twist by himself. It was quite honestly the perfect multi pack for me. I wish I could get the white and sky blue decos of the jumpstarters, but for what I already have this is perfect.
Twintwist has sky rocketed on amazon of course. The figure had been on sale or at retail for ages. Was on sale on hasbro pulse too. Be careful with what you decide. They will release new molds. We just don’t know when. And they will be the regular colors.

the diaclone repaints are an easy way for Hasbro to keep the Topspin and Twintwist Trademarks warm. they gotta use the names every 4-6 years otherwise they lose them and have to pay a fee to acquire them again. (if another company doesnt snap up the names)
I picked up Twin Twist pretty easily last year. I still have my original G1 from like 1985. I pick up the Amazon 2 pack. I have no attachment to dioclone, the 2 pack especially Spinister looks really cool to me…
I'm getting this set only for Topspin since I already got Both him and Twin Twist on their original Titans Return release and Diaclone Twin Twist from Legacy. I don't care much for the darker colored Spinister, GREAT mold, but I already have the Siege version in more accurate colors.

You have to factor in these are already Amazon exclusives so on top of your perspective of nobody is even asking for diaclone colors, nobody is really asking for re-releases of old molds of these figures in general except for anyone trying to build a wreckers collection which is few and far between. I still pre-ordered this set for spinister with his target masters to complete my set of target masters. I don't know if anyone cares either way about the diaclone colors if they're simply army building their collection. Same with folks who bought different versions of bludgeon and tarn in the last few years.

Or the creative team is hamstrung with a financial budget that causes them to make Sofie's choice decisions. The Transformers creative team works for a business that is part of a corporation where it's one and only concern is to maximize shareholder profit. Unfortunately, our emotions and the creative team emotions don't mean a hill of beans to corporate executives. Now, if I was part of the creative team I would illustrate to my executive superiors how we could make money by reissuing a 10-year-old mold and hope that would entice them to include more money for the next budget to recreate these figures. Executives are only motivated about what the retailes think will move units. Which is usually the evergreen characters, not c, d, e, f, tier characters. The profit motive is the only motive for a publicly traded company. I wish this wasn't the case but it's the circumstances we live in. Let's hope we get newly designed Jumpstarters in the next couple of years.
It’s not that weird, just business and maximizing mold usage, for people (like myself) that do not have spinister/topspin mold will gladly pay $$ to finish off micro collections or just because they don’t own the mold, then hasbro does the proper versions later, maximizing profits, cause if topspin was widely available only diaclone enjoyers would get this new Amazon 2pk, hasbro did the same thing with kingdom galvatron mold and kingdom blaster mold that I can think of off the top of my head
Reasoning is obvious: aside from the G1 readers and the Last Stand of the Wreckers fans, nobody cares for Topspin and Twintwist. And those are likely to have the old mold already. So this ensures a sale with some of them. And maybe in a few years, when the Wreckers reappear in Skybound, or in Transformers Three (let´s pray to Primus), Hasbro might see a reason to make new molds for those 2 characters. Way I see it, it´s a free Wrecker corpse with my Spinister at half the e-bay price.
It’s the fact that they chose to do both these guys in their Diaclone colours instead of their original ones is insane in my eyes, I guess it gives us some variety though?! Hopefully they just rerelease the moulds in their more preferred colours so people who want them like than can now.

The white and blue versions are the comic version, but the original figures come from the Diaclone japanese toys, which came in those dark blue and red colors before Hasbro repainted them and added to the Transformers toyline, then Simon Furman added them to the Wreckers squad. So the red-dark blue version is the original, pre-transformers versions, and the white and blue ones are the Wreckers version.
You could called them Shattered Glass colors but technically these are their Diaclone colors. I say this since the other Diaclone releases were also repurposed as Shattered Glass.

If I recall when the original listing came out, they were supposed to come together... I was disappointed that Topspin was swapped out.

I respectfully disagree, I far prefer the Diaclone colors for these guys and they were an instant buy for me. Too each their own though.
