Great! I only oprefer to use the clone tool instead of the brush to paint that fuzzy part. I also like to add noise over the parts I did paint or clone, due to not let it looks to smooth in comparision to the image around it, that naturaly have some texture from the photo.
Thank you Ally for explaining and demonstrating something that I have always thought of as a 'dark art' only to be used by 'pros'! I feel confident enough to have a go now!
Fantastic. Having watched a few 'similar' video tutorials that just didn't get me the understanding I wanted and maybe used lesser techniques, I think this one has done so with the perfect mix of 'why and how'. Thank You.
Thank you to Affinity Revolution for this video!... Seriously today saved me a lot of time to fix a photo for a friend👍🏼... Regards from México... See you soon :)
Thank you. This is most helpful. I noticed you duplicated the low frequency layer and only used this layer. Nothing appears to have been done on the original low frequency layer. Is there any reason for this?
When would you do this in the editing process? Before or after you do lighting and color adjustment? Do lighting and color first then export. Then re open and do this?
Hellooo First of all thank you soo much for the video!!!! I’m stuck in the paintbrush part. It’s not letting me click the hardness. And it’s at a 100%. What can I do?😅
Sorry, I don't know why that's happening! :( I recommend you ask on the official Affinity forums: forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/5-affinity-on-desktop-questions-mac-and-windows/
I only did that so that I could show a "before and after". You don't need to do that in your own edit. Sorry if I forgot to mention that in the video! 😅
Contrast is used on your entire image, to make the lights lighter and the darks darker. Sharpness is used to make the small details in a photo pop a little more. Anti-aliasing is used on low resolution images to make jagged edges look smoother. I hope that helps! 😊
@@AffinityRevolution Sorry for the non-video questions. Does a High Pass filter use grey color to find and accentuate the edges of pixels which in turn increased the contrast AND sharpness? I think a focus on the pixel edges is important. Maybe not. Love you work and am inspired by your videos. I wont bother with any more questions today :)
It just for bumps or also can i use it to delete mole, marks on the face or on the body? This steps is like soft filter for the face? Where i got stock for the steps ins on low frequency because the color of skin came different i dont know why

I would edit the skin after editing color & lighting. Exporting & re-opening the photo would be a great way to do that :)
Thanks, Ally. As always, a great video. One quick question - would this technique work on a group photo? Thanks.
Yes, but you would need to work on each person's skin one at a time, so it would take a little while to edit.
@@AffinityRevolution Thanks, Ally.
I've paid for their courses ma,y times, money very well spent!!
Thank you! I really appreciate the support. 🤗
Thank you for your efforts to bring yourselves up to our level, the result is realistic for our greatest happiness.

Thank youuu did it with the 100% and a bit more touch up then it was fine 😄🙂
Very excellent.
Thank you! Glad you liked the video. 😊
Thanks for the great explanation. Maybe I missed it. But why are you duplicating the low frequency layer?😄

thank you I have a question in my image I needed ajust the color because doesn't match! what doing wrong?

Adding unsharp mask layer with empty mask to enhance eyes and lips make this nice
Thank you. Just what I needed at exactly the right time. I just converted a black and white image to color using AI and now I can fine-tune it.
Very fun! I hope your photo turned out well. 😊

Are these options available for iPad ?
Yes, the iPad has Frequency Separation: ruclips.net/video/q-h5qVpdL70/видео.html
I always have a few bucks for these courses!
Thank you for all your support! 🤗

Please answer this: What is the difference between contrast, sharpness, and anti-aliasing?
Contrast is used on your entire image, to make the lights lighter and the darks darker. Sharpness is used to make the small details in a photo pop a little more. Anti-aliasing is used on low resolution images to make jagged edges look smoother. I hope that helps! 😊
@@AffinityRevolution Thx so much. Trying to figure out how to decipher the AffinityHelp's definitions of Blend Modes. Very confusing stuff

@@ck1425 Sorry, I'm not sure the technical details of how the filter works. I just know that it sharpens the image... 😅
@@AffinityRevolution Ok. thank you for our kind reply. :)
MERCI
Thank you! 😊
I keep forgetting that this option is available. Maybe if there was a button to visually remind me :) Another great tutorial. Thank you.
Even though I use Affinity nearly every day, I still forget to use tools I already know about. There's so many to keep track of!
It just for bumps or also can i use it to delete mole, marks on the face or on the body? This steps is like soft filter for the face?
Where i got stock for the steps ins on low frequency because the color of skin came different i dont know why
Why do you have two low frequency layers?
why use brush tool insted mixer brush?
Haven’t been here in a long time. How is your husband doing?
He is doing okay, but his health is not the best. He's going to see a new doctor soon, so hopefully they can help him. 😕
@@AffinityRevolution sorry to hear that and prayers to him. He’s the reason I bought and use and teach affinity photo. Again my prayers to you guys
Great tutorial, thanks!
