Fantastic Scott, just started watching your videos and I believe they are the best ones, the way you show and explain the things you are doing easy to follow. Thank You
This seems like the proper way to do it. I remember doing a very similar process/workflow in Photoshop. This is exactly the way I remember doing it. Thanks for showing this method. Other RUclipsrs do it using a very unnecessary workflow, and the results are not as good.
Affinity Photo and Capture One are different products. Capture One is for organisation and basic editing of image files. Affinity Photo is a full image and photo editor. If I had to choose one I would go with Affinity Photo in a heartbeat. Affinity photo is a fantastic tool that for me is comparable to Photoshop but at a fraction of the cost.
@@ScottWilliamsPhotography Will have to learn a new software then. I got the trial and, so far, the UI does not seem all that friendly to the new user...
In thiw Video you showed three methods of reducing Shiny Skin but were the first two methods just for reference ? So you suggest the Frequency Seperation method to tackle this problem ?
@@ScottWilliamsPhotography I have the same problem in one of my project where I have used Black & White Adjustment Layer because the original photo had strong sunlight coming in the face so used a mask there. Now when I use the Frequency Seperation on the Low Frequency Layer it paints the shiny part with a weird colour ? I select the colour from the skin whhch I want t lo apply still it paints weird colour. What could be wrong ?
Thanks Scott. Best explanation of Frequency Separation that I've come across. I get it!
Cheers Paul. You should check out my other video on frequency separation. ruclips.net/video/dKsUH02GdFg/видео.html

The frequency separation method is superior.

What about blonde hair ?
If the hair is brighter than the skin you are modifying then you would have to be careful or use a mask.
Do you merge all the layers in the end? How does one export the final product as a jpg?
Choose file>export
Αmazing!!!!! Thanks a lot.
Thank you too!
