This man has shown me that you are not a failure in this world if you’re doing you’re job and taking care of you’re kids and making the best you can …. Respect to you Sean
We won’t ever see another CHAMPION like this again. EVER.! Sean Strickland is always being himself. No acting, no personas, just straight up 100% honesty when he talks. He says what he’s thinking, which is the same as what many of us are thinking. The main difference is he actually says it while we all mostly keep these things to ourselves. I wish more guys could be genuine like Sean is. He isn’t ashamed of who he really is & he’s also not embarrassed to express his emotions. See guys, this is an example of a real MAN.!!
The philosophical mindset of this man is fascinating. A lot to learn, good and bad. His fighter’s mindset is top notch and you can see how he doesn’t put unnecessary pressure on himself, which improves performance.
People forget this guy was abused majority of his life. Got in a car accident where he suffered brain damage & was told basically he could never do the only thing he loved again. He might say some things people hate but the guy is honest and himself. Never letting anyone tell him otherwise and saying what he thinks is true and right. He's got my respect everyday.I hope this dude does great things man
Crazy how honest he is just zero filter. I hope he does win and we get to see some more of him. And not even just because I want my boy to win to enjoy the win - but I think all of this exposure is going to help him mentally too. He's forced to be exposed to people, talk to people and I think it's really going to help him
For an entertainer as he calls himself, to actually give credit to a dad bringing his daughters to an event and call him hero..he is more than he lets us see. Good luck champ
Sean’s points resonate! Most highly paid jobs don’t have that satisfaction that you are actually a help to society. He is struggling for life meaning like many people in their middle age
Sean, you’re giving that guy that works in a ditch and hates his job just a little glimpse of happiness for 25 minutes on a Saturday night. For those 25 minutes you’re not a shitty person and you’re not working in a ditch that hates his job. You’re just a dude that is watching another dude throw hands and love what he’s doing. You give those people a bit of happiness.
Sean Is a legend. He’s the true definition of a champion. Humble, says it how it is and a warrior. Definitely my favourite fighter and probably a lot of mma fans would agree. Deserves all praise he gets.
I think he can beat most of the division. Ddp and cannonier are probably the hardest tests at this point and you could argue that Sean beat cannonier. If he beats Ddp, I think he’ll get probably 3 or 4 defenses in after that.
Sean Strickland is the closest living guy to Tyler Durden character that we currently have in the world. The way he spoke about belt, sounds like from Chuck Palahniuk book. And this approach should be respected
This man doesn't realize just how much of a help he is when he speaks for the every day man & women who are in this neck deep trying to make it day after day in this world with there loved ones as the system just grinds away at you stealing your very sweat from your brow and 3/4 of your prosperity right along with it. Thanks Sean. Its respected and appreciated.
Man of the people. I think thats what a lot of people missed when he got upset over what Dricus said to him, he doesn't want people that grew up being abused like himself feeling like they're a joke. Seans an empathic guy.
He talks a lot and says a lot for a guy who doesnt like trash talk he talked about Ian Garry's wife and then says family's are not ok to talk about but I love the guy I hope he wins
I love Sean Strickland! Win or loose there are plenty more fights we get the privilege of listening to this man’s beliefs and fantastic attitude towards life . True role model for the everyday guy/gal.

The huge difference is that Sean props up the broader society and not himself, which is the exact opposite of that most famous people, who are brands in and of themselves, do. Not that they’re not thankful to the rest of society and not that they don’t share the same views, but Sean is explicit about it and think that is what makes him real and others gravitate towards that
He has a level of humility and honesty beyond any athlete I’ve ever seen
Honesty? Sure. Humility? Haha.
😂😂😂😂
@ZonZorZerx did you watch this interview? Here, I'll grab the definition for you: Humility-a modest or low view of one's own importance; humbleness. He literally shows this in every. Single. Interview. Get outta here with that "haha" bs
Sean Strickland and humility. Sure. Haha! I don't mind him at all, but true hit and miss on that one.
He's playing a character of the down to earth guy and you're falling for it😂
Sean is incredibly grounded and real. He doesn't give in to any outside pressure and I appreciate someone like this.
Sean is the man. He’s 100% genuine in a world that doesn’t appreciate 100% genuineness. Thank you Sean for telling the truth.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Fake character except when he’s crying
Props to Megan for just being a consistent professional, and truly trying to find the optimism in strickland’s past. The dude has had some trauma, and is a great fighter, and it’s clear that he struggles to acknowledge his accolades
Self-esteem issue, comes with being condemned verbally & physically. Hence, does not see the belt as a reward for his work. Yet, fighting is the only thing that makes him feel valued.
I liked Sean when I first started watching him, but after hearing his interviews and learning more about him, I would say I’m officially a fan. Solid dude and a REAL person.
Meat riding continues
Great interview. The secret is to always allow the guest to talk. Ask the questions and get TF out of the way. And she did that. No interruptions. Great job!!
Can’t help but root for this man. God bless you Sean. Rooting for you!
“I can’t help but root for this man that keeps waxing poetic about his desire to murder other individuals for minor slights or even no reason at all”.
Wow. We’ve officially become too accepting and inclusive. 😅🤷♂️
I have never seen a more down to earth and relatable champion interview in my life. Out of any sport.
I grew up with a bunch of Sean Stricklands in the early 80's and 90's. I'm so glad they're still making them even if they are in limited quantities.
hard times make strong men,
now they're brain washed
@@smoketj4830true but there are people out there in hard times and those are gonna be the real savages, also good, strong men raise good, strong men so we still have a select few who are still hard
The Sean Stricklands of this world are Limited Editions now.
So true, I had lots of buddies in the military in the early 2000’s that were just Sean’s….and some D’seans
Definitely NOT "off the rails": level-headed, humble and 100% honest as always. What a good dude.
This interview is the definition of being real. If you compare all other interviews like this with this one, they all automatically fall into a "fake-ish" category. Strickland can almost be considered a revolution on the way of being real in front of the world. This is truly amazing
This man has shown me that you are not a failure in this world if you’re doing you’re job and taking care of you’re kids and making the best you can …. Respect to you Sean
❤
I'm South African & 100% behind Dricus, but admittedly its hard not to like Sean for his authenticity👊

Fake
Well most of us don’t say anything because of the repercussions lol not much ya can do to Sean Strickland 😂
The philosophical mindset of this man is fascinating. A lot to learn, good and bad. His fighter’s mindset is top notch and you can see how he doesn’t put unnecessary pressure on himself, which improves performance.
Very interesting
really smart
People forget this guy was abused majority of his life. Got in a car accident where he suffered brain damage & was told basically he could never do the only thing he loved again. He might say some things people hate but the guy is honest and himself. Never letting anyone tell him otherwise and saying what he thinks is true and right. He's got my respect everyday.I hope this dude does great things man
He's the UFC middleweight champ he's already done great things.
He already has done great things and then some
It was a motorcycle accident and he was a neo-naz1
Motorcycle
People dislike him because he's a cry baby hypocrite who can give it but can't take it.
Crazy how honest he is just zero filter. I hope he does win and we get to see some more of him. And not even just because I want my boy to win to enjoy the win - but I think all of this exposure is going to help him mentally too. He's forced to be exposed to people, talk to people and I think it's really going to help him
I agree.
People didn’t notice but Sean is actually funny af, “His coach always keeps him hard”, had me spit out my food.
15:54
🤣
For an entertainer as he calls himself, to actually give credit to a dad bringing his daughters to an event and call him hero..he is more than he lets us see. Good luck champ
This guy is truly a inspiration to the fans around the world
For a brash talker the dude is too humble about his position it’s so new and refreshing to see
Strickland is amazing ... absolute legend . Fan for life ! Best interviews of all time
What an insane valuable interview, keeping it real Sean, thank you so much! ❤
Is that happiness?

Sean Is a legend. He’s the true definition of a champion. Humble, says it how it is and a warrior. Definitely my favourite fighter and probably a lot of mma fans would agree. Deserves all praise he gets.
If this guy can get a run of a few defenses together, he will be an absolute superstar.
I swear STONE COLD🥶 Strickland
@@jaleelmcduffy1303 Yes, that is my thinking.
I think he can beat most of the division. Ddp and cannonier are probably the hardest tests at this point and you could argue that Sean beat cannonier. If he beats Ddp, I think he’ll get probably 3 or 4 defenses in after that.
He already is.
Look at the views
@@newchannel416 Yeah, that's not what a superstar is.
“You can’t talk about the world and not be angry” truer words have never been spoken.
Love the transparency. As an electrician helping to build the country I appreciated this.
Man of the people. I think thats what a lot of people missed when he got upset over what Dricus said to him, he doesn't want people that grew up being abused like himself feeling like they're a joke. Seans an empathic guy.
You're absolutely spot on.
Or he actually gets pressed by the matter? No one is invulnerable
@edwardwalking4807he has always been that way. People are naturally drawn to him coz he's honest
He talks a lot and says a lot for a guy who doesnt like trash talk he talked about Ian Garry's wife and then says family's are not ok to talk about but I love the guy I hope he wins
We stopped calling people "faggit" in fifth grade. Sean didn't
This was so refreshing. It’s amazing to see someone in this position who is so self-aware and doesn’t let their ego consume them.
You do realize Strickland would probably punch you in the nose for calling this "refreshing".

The best Strickland interview I've seen. Props to Megan
I love Sean Strickland! Win or loose there are plenty more fights we get the privilege of listening to this man’s beliefs and fantastic attitude towards life . True role model for the everyday guy/gal.
Strickland is a full on legend in the making whos actually making a difference to people's lives but he literally has no idea he's doing it and values himself as nothing thats a true champion
This was literally all the fighters of the early UFC. When there were more men in the world.

Good luck to you and your boys. Stay strong. You got this 💪
I love this guy for being who he used to be 100% without no fear
Sean is my definition of chaotic good.
Sean is the loose cannon we all love, hes like a good joker, totally insane and somewhat dangerous but a good guy, a solid guy.
Real life anti-hero
Yes that is definitely his archetype
Best interview ever! Win or lose, Sean Strickland is a legend.
No matter what happens at his fights, i will always be a fan if he stays real like this. Very refreshing hearing from a popular man praising the people that provide society with what's needed. He is a very interesting man.
Sean is not the champion we wanted but the champion we needed 😂. Legend
This man, is what sports need, is what the whole industry needs. For too long they have propped up utter fakes and fraud, not UFC, the system. Here is Sean being 100% real and isnt afraid to show it. That, is something else. This man has been through alot and still struggling and still does his best to put on a good face because he happened to be good at a sport like the one he does and good for him. Little did he realise he is an aboslute master at naturally outwitting his oppenents and that natural ability is hard to come by, you cannot teach it.
I wish this man the very best and for once the only UFC fighter id love to meet.
Megan handled this interview like an absolute boss💯
she did such a great job
Megan is underrated. Can't recall her ever missing.
Not really she asked the most generic cookie cutter questions
as always
Consider that ESPN is owned by ABC, who is owned by Disney. That's deep dish pressure to keep corporate america satisfied while dealing with a very unconventional interview subject. she can't even laugh too much or joke around much. @@markm5772
You contribute WAY more than you know. You deserve everything you've earned, and everything thats coming to you. God sees you, Sean.
Sean’s one of the only champions who deserves the amount of love and attention they’re getting, if not more. And to think he was a sacrificial lamb for Dana’s pet at the time he got all this. The UFC never wanted him in this position but it’s honestly the best thing that ever happened for them. Sean will be a champ until the day he dies.
a mentally ill person like sean should not be allowed to have guns , thats whats wrong with america , he is a time bomb , its a disaster waiting to happen

Most refreshing. No BS. Clearly a good guy.
Your interviewing style is very inviting and appears authentic and that allows the person being interviewed to feel more at ease and display more of their real self

Sean, if you ever read this, everything happens for a reason. You have this position to provide a point of view for us roofers or welders or mechanics. Without real skill, the world could not run. You fight, we tie rebar, the other guy cooks at Applebees, the other girl checks receipts at wal mart, someone else stays up for three days plowing snow off the interstate. You’re one of us.
