- You are now required to take a Covid test and have proof of a negative result within 3 days of your departure when travelling back to England. This applies even if you are a British citizen, or have received a Covid vaccine. In this short video, Dr Adam Abbs explains the process of pre-departure Covid-19 testing.
The pre-departure test must also be carried out by a private provider like Medicspot as you are unable to use the NHS testing service. For more information on how to use Medicspot’s Covid test service for pre-departure testing visit, www.medicspot.co.uk/covid-test

In Avalon Expression pre trip covid test is free . U can go and cruise with them.. is totally enjoyable
Could someone tell me where I can upload my pre departure antigen test results? I have registered my kit but cannot find where to upload the test result. Thanks
Sorry I'm in same boat, did you find out where to download it?
How would this work if you’re in a country outside the UK? How are you meant to ship the test to the UK and get a result in time?
You take a test abroad with you, do it yourself; send the a picture or video to Medicspot (there will be instructions) and they will send you the doctors approval/certificate
@@nikafizer2951 GOD - THIS IS A COMPLICATED PROCESS.
Currently for green list countries it states you need to take a pre departure test which can be a lateral flow - whilst away on holiday where do you get the result text or print out from? I assume we take the test with us on holiday but how do you prove it’s negative - if you take the test yourself abroad who do you show the results to in order to get the text or print out to confirm it’s negative? Thanks
I’m wondering this myself. I know most airports have tests available there but even then, it would mean going to the airport to give them your test the day before you actually fly home. I can’t get my head around it
I thought I’d update in case you haven’t found your answer or if somebody else is reading this and confused. From what I’ve read, you pay for a bundle of tests, a PCR test which is taken and sent off so you get your result within the timeframe you need it before you fly out (48-72 hours) then you take a rapid test with you in your case, this is done within 72 hours of you flying back to the UK and you send the company proof of a negative and they email/text you a negative certificate. Then once you’re home there’s another PCR test on your doormat and you do that and send it off. If you’re coming back from an amber country I think you have to do another pcr test on day 8 of being home.
@@SlapRoundTheChops thanks very much, I don’t need the first PCR test so that’s good. I just was confused how to get results from the rapid test whilst away on holiday. I assume then you send this via a picture of the test or something? Seems to make a bit more sense - thank you!!
@@sophieprice9966 yeah I presume so, there’s not really that much information on it, the website I read just says that you have to contact them with results
@@SlapRoundTheChops yeah not enough info! On the gov website it’s no clearer either! Hopefully they will make it clear soon especially when people start flying again! Thanks for your help ☺️
