Thank you for this understandable explanation, even for me as a beginner! In other tutorials no one talked and explained what they were doing and you gave the explanation and help I needed 😍
I’m delighted to have found this tutorial on the fishtail knitting stitch, you have a very approachable, user friendly style. Thanks for clear instructions and using white wool is a brilliant idea as you can follow more easily than with dark. You are a talented lady and a gift to all knitters! Something I would personally find helpful is the use of knitting terms like “yarn over needle” when you make a stitch or “pass slipped stitch over” as these are terms many of us are familiar with. I will explore your channel to see if you do crochet too. I love crochet. Thanks again! 😚
Thank you for the tutorial! I used your instructions to knit a newborn bonnet. I used the multiples of 8+1 formula and went through the instructions once. Then I switched to straight stitches and connected them into a round and did my decreases for the back of the hat. I've been pretty intimidated but really wanted to try this kind of pattern for a while. Thank you so much for the help. I had no issues following your steps. When I wasn't sure I just went back and watched again until I got it. I'll be trying another pattern of yours I'm sure.
How wonderful. Creativity at it's best. Thanks for sharing. If you have Facebook, you might want to share a picture of the bonnet on our page: joannesweb. Thank you!
Very pretty pattern. How do you get written instructions for this pattern? I am a newbie and trying to learn from a written pattern as well as a Video. Thanks for the great demo and instructions.
When u say multiples of 8+1....does that mean if i want to just one repetition it will be 9 total, correct? (Sorry im beginning level and not quite sure)
Hello! Do you know of any patterns that use this stitch. I went to the trouble to learn it and I don’t just want to make a scarf. I’m thinking a sweater or vest.
Those are really adorable! Thank you. I am also hoping to find a patter for a top with this stitch. Please let me know if you find anything. @@JoannesWeb

Sometimes you slip knitwise and other times, you slip purlwise. It is most often best to be consistant. Which is best?

If I were to make a scarf how would I end it so it would have the same pattern as I started?
You'll have the same pattern in the opposite side, Make sure you bind off in pattern.
How do you cast on in preparation for this pattern?
When you knit 2 together do you loose 1 stitch each time
Yes, but you replace it with yarn overs.
