    I'm almost finished covering the song now and I must say, it takes a special type of person to be able to play this song! 🤣 The shit is insane!!

    Je te leve mon chapeau James. Le guitariste de ce groupe est probablement un des meilleurs dans le monde du metal technique alors c'est tout un défi de jouer leurs chansons

    great job. Anton's riffs are really tricky to play without necessarily sounding all crazy tricky to the uninitiated.

    •  2 года назад

      Thanks !
      Yeah that's exactly it, the patterns are incredibly tricky to link, it's just unpractical to play but sounds so good

    • @isansimpson2056
      @isansimpson2056 2 года назад

      @ For sure unpractical or unconventional is a perfect way to describe his playing. If you watch videos of him playing, he hardly moves his wrist and actually quite a bit of the picking motion comes from his thumb and index finger...I'm guessing that's why his riffs can feel so awkward. Have you heard the new song though? Their new player seems to be a return to form the song absolutely rips.

    It's a crying fucking shame that Anton left the band. I'm not even sure he's making any music (that is available to listen to at least). An utter tragedy to music.

    •  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, I agree. Anton really has an exquisite playing and his leads have something more that I can't explain, they're much more exciting to listen to imo.
      Don't get me wrong Mikael Almgren did a fantastic job though !

    Does that awesome tone come from Maxon only or you add some plugins?

    •  9 лет назад

      i guess both. i use the tse x50 and put a lowpass/highpass filter and that's it.
      But the maxon really is awesome

    How did you get the tone so close sounding to the original? What are your amp or sim settings?

    •  2 года назад

      I cant really remember but if I had to guess, i was using tse x50 with a minotaur IR I bought from a user on the andy sneap forum years ago

    • @commisargamerson1666
      @commisargamerson1666 2 года назад

      @ Do you remember the basic eq setting by chance? Like mids, lows, treble etc.

    •  2 года назад +1

      @@commisargamerson1666 No and that's not really gonna define your tone, especially with plugins. I rarely tweak an amp sim's eq.
      IR, your guitar and your fingers will make your tone.

    • @nathanhyde2079
      @nathanhyde2079 Год назад

      Try a metal zone type effect as a boost for the tight compressed distortion and add use the amps natural gain, but you'll also need some noise reduction of some sort. The tone isn't the difficult task here, You could play these riffs on an acoustic and sound impressive.
